  1. You would be better served putting that $250 into a better scope...unless your a no price limit kinda guy.
  2. I have a Spikes 14.5" with perma pinned Smith Enterprises Vortex on it(for 16" total length) with pencil profile barrel iits a pretty light setup. Key is not over-accessorizing the gun. Mine has a Sig Dot(i like my eotech better, but it is light), Moe furniture, and a magpul back up sight. Course my Czech VZ58 still makes it feel like a pig.
  3. Har har har.....actually I did buy quite a few items there every Christmas....rifles, a couple shotguns, and a safe....now ammo...I only fell for that buy one get one 1/2 off trick once....sucks they quit....their shotgun prices were almost unbeatable. Gander is a damn ripoff and Bass Pro is almost comical in their pricing...maybe we will finally get an academy or sportsmans warehouse...the sportsmans in chattanooga has awesome deals most of the time.
  4. I have nothing against legitimate police officers. With that being said, this whole thing stinks. I understand shooting someone that has an AR drawn, but with no prior record and no evidence of illegal activity they should have just knocked....the guy is a freaking ex-marine. That should stand for something, that should have gotten him enough respect for a normal police department to say hey "this guy is just stuck in a crap neighborhood...lets send some regular blues to his door". Im sorry but they are lucky he didnt shoot first....if anyone knocked down my door im gonna go down in a hail of bullets or they are...no ifs ands or buts....you come into my house unannounced and 1 of us is going home in a body bag. How could he have known it was legitimate police and not some "gang bangers" out to rob him...he didnt, and he died doing the right thing(trying to protect his family)....I hope that everyone that was there on that warrant goes down in flames...this is just disgusting.
  5. You raise a very good point.
  6. Anything is better then that crappy nitron....i love my sigs but hate their finish
  7. Say what??? Dicks in knoxville dropped guns and ammo?
  8. That thing should last forever...least the exterior...if they made one with exo internals I would buy it in a heartbeat...I have the exo bcg and trigger in my ar
  9. That's a failzero coated gun right? Now that your comfortable try something a Derringer couldn't do ;-) try it at 15 and 20.
  10. Looks awesome who cerakoted it?
  11. In 16" or 14.5" I would recommend looking at the spikes uppers on Joeboboutfitters or AIM Surplus Home they cost about the same as bcm, use all the same high end materials, but also include top notch bcg, charging handle, and buffer at no additional charge.
  12. let us know how it does on the firearm....i thought haveing one might be nice for such purposes.
  13. If you can wait sometimes you will see the RWS ammo come up for $9.99 a box and its supposed to be top notch.
  14. hahaha....yeah I have had this dang Vetterli for awhile and would prefer to make sure it works before I sell it....though the cost/rarity of the ammo makes it pretty prohibitive...well and if its gonna go boom...i would rather it not hurt someone else. Mine is a Stieger Thun manufactured in 1869ish
  15. awesome...let us know how the wood holds up.
  16. I prefer a sig over a Glock, but it is odd that the barrel has been replaced....unless its had the sh*t shot out of it, Sig barrels are typically good for way over 10,000rds. The p228 German guns are excellent and getting hard to come by...whereas if you miss your G22 you can always buy another later.
  17. I don't think most handguns will ever be in a situation where they need to be fired 2,000 rds between cleaning. While I agree that the more rounds you can put through a weapon the more it will build your confidence in said weapon...a 2,000rd test is a bit silly. If you really are so lazy you can't clean your gun at least every 500rds you don't deserve to carry one at all. I like random ammo tests on firearms because it does show what they will and won't choke on or what they are tuned for. I am also in agreement that while cost prohibitive one should fire as close to 500rds as they can afford if your carrying an auto....if it makes it that long without malfunction and you do a thorough cleaning on it....it will be good to go should the need arise to use it. My Sig P245 is my typical carry because I do have absolute trust in it and have put it "through its paces".
  18. Sportsmans Warehouse this weekend. $339.99 Ends Monday Just a heads up if you wanted one....better then any online price.
  19. The Barnes triple shocks are excellent performers, but like Caster I don't see how they could afford to switch to copper as high as it is now.
  20. How does one get an invite or chance to do this?
  21. I need a round or two to test lemme know how much I got a vetterli I need to sell
  22. I like your wood! ;-D
  23. Lol yeah the sei version does...I'm sure gemtech will too
  24. Spoolie....do you like it better then your Range Officer?
