  1. Some of your alls close-mindedness is astounding...last rebel makes a very good overlooked point...and I do drive a Lexus 233,000 miles same engine and transmission...only failure in the last 100,000 was a power door lock actuator. Also for you Walmart haters keep in mind how many people they employ...if everything was American made you would only complain about how expensive things are.Don't worry though cheap Chinese labor is drying up pretty soon you can complain about everything saying made in Vietnam.
  2. Well im glad they are trying to make it right...their FAL stuff has always been great, but everything of theirs I have got has been through other vendors... If it doesnt work out you should look at Palmettostatearmory.com (for a BCG or complete upper) or aimsurplus.com for a Spikes BCG (they are seriously well built) either will get you a nice setup for the same money you spent
  3. It's back on links in my Sig line
  4. This guy is just a Bully, plain and simple. HOpefully they won't allow him to see another investigation and will just boot him off the force. As far as cops go...everyone that does anything gets stereotyped...doesn't make it true...not all lawyers are ambulance chasers, not all used car salesman are liars ;-D, and not all cops are thugs....people need to be less close-minded and the world would be a much more peaceful place. I have quite a few LEO customers...and they arent thugs, jerks, bullies, or anything like that...just someone doing a thankless job at a pay rate thats equivalent to most teachers, but necessary so our society doesnt degenerate into chaos. I have also been pulled over quite a few times and except for the time I was an ass(one and only...learn quick) they always treated me with professionalism. This guy is definitely the exception...not the rule.
  5. Very nice...i have the poor man's version(RIA match)...i wasnt a fan of the full size 1911 but its converting me...I even used my gearhog coupon to buy some alumi grips for it.
  6. With a 22 and some aquila 60gr subsonic rounds it will be movie-esque ;-D
  7. Haha I got a zombie lower too but I had the face color filled...its waiting for assembly
  8. Haha yeah I thought that comment was quite naive too
  9. Nice gun....I probably wouldnt have any trigger work done on it though....one of the big pluses(as you probably know) to the combat is all the internals are phosphate coated for corrosion resistance....I doubt they would be able to be worked on and retain their coating...I know they don't make a phospated SRT kit...yet...so I would just keep it as/is...I have always wanted one of those but have yet to "pull the trigger"....I did get a HK Tac 45 the other day though so im can shoppin too.
  10. If your wanting to dive in with both feet by all means by a Kimber...if your just wanting to get your feet wet then I would look at a Rock Island, Springfield Range Officer, or if you can find one the new Ruger 1911 I have had a few and right now I have a Rock Island Match(not tactical) which is the same thing as the STI Spartan (hand fit frame to slide, 4140 steel frame, "match barrel", "match trigger". Its probably made by a Philipino that gets paid an extra $0.25 per hour lol. I will say that the slide to frame fit is as good/better then any Springfield I have had, on par with my Dan Wesson and Kimbers. Trigger is as good if not better also...very light and crisp. For ~$600 its hard to beat....if you wanna fancy it up get the STI version for a few dollars more.
  11. I have bought a few guns from Powell. A lot of stuff goes high but there are some good deals to be had. Your really abstract stuff usually most people don't have a clue what its worth...now if your going to buy Colt's or Smiths you might be disappointed, but older FN's, pocket pistols, brownings, and the like usually can be had at a discount....another part of it is attrition too....buy early while people are thinking or buy late when most people have gave up and left.
  12. Aim is where its at....I ordered from classic a long time ago before they got bought out and their phone service wasn't anything to write home about.
  13. I have a cat and my gf has 3 "dogs"....I prefer the cat...he is smarter and if worse comes to worse...well....I know he could handle himself...just call the ASPCA...its the humane thing to do...if you do decide to shoot them at least use something painless like a 9....no pellets...and no weak 22's...thats just cruel. If someone ever gets the chance to put me in the ground I would hope they would have the decency to not let me bleed out and suffer.
  14. Just make sure whatever model you get has the SRT trigger....I would recommend the Tacops over the SCT just for that reason(they both have hicap 20rd mags in 9mm, but the Tacops has the beavertail and SRT trigger while the SCT doesnt). Also the 220 Dark Elite with SRT in 45 is a tac-driver too.
  15. I'm excited that's literally 6mins from my house...however by the looks of it I bet it won't be ready before Christmas.
  16. I don't care for his character or for the fact he professes to be able to turn people into operators when his own laziness and inaction very likely caused the deaths of some of his teammates. He is a study of what not to do when under fire.
  17. Yeager....yech....he's a hypocrit, wuss, and worse....
  18. I believe thats an older 226...it should work just fine but you need the grips on to keep that spring in place while dry firing....i could be wrong though(happens a lot)
  19. I know +p will fire through EMP's but I do remember the manual of the one I had specifically stating not to use it in their guns...but its your firearm to use and abuse as you see fit ;-D In a 3" barrel'd gun even if its only 25fps difference....every bit is going to help since your already at a loss due to the short barrel....jmho
  20. Yeah everyone raves about their fals
  21. Rarely do I mess with salvage "junk"my best guess would be that the red salvage means it has not yet been rebuilt to pass road safety driveability standards
  22. I'm pretty sure the biggest downside is the 9mm is not recommended or built for +p which is practically a must for a self defense 9. Imho if its purely a self defense gun get a kahr cm9 or pm9 as they are much cheaper and rated for +p
  23. awesome thanks for the heads up
