  1. For the money at this point in the game I think it would be hard to beat unless you built your own.
  2. Haha thats a long topic worthy of a new thread....but your not gonna get anyone siding with the gun confiscators.
  3. flyingsquad if building yourself get a MEGA billet upper/lower matched set...you'll be happy you did :-D Nice rifle btw!
  4. Great looking rifle....if your gonna use it for anything besides cqb I would recommend a nice 1.5-6x scope....like a weaver tactical or even a bushnell Edit: Im putting my weaver 30mm super slam (german #4 reticle) 1.5-6x on my 18" Mega Arms 308 I wanted to get a 716 but I wanted an 18" barrel which they nixed for some reason or another right before release. Though it might come out later. So i built a 308 even though mine is a DI system....i figure if its good enough for LMT and the Brits it should work for me. btw...awesome collection of guns you got there!
  5. Get a midlength and an adjustable gas block....problems solved :-D
  6. Yeah RWF's eyes aren't what they used to be...the Troy is definitely the looker of the two ;-D
  7. nice photog
  8. www.palmettostatearmory.com had m&p sports for $619 and the ORC for $849
  9. That looks really cool...i really like the way that avocado looks though....
  10. what a about a chiappa 1911...with its fixed barrel it should last a long, long time....i think ati makes one now that is already threaded and has a faux suppressor
  11. well you know its pretty hard to distinguish between a zombie and a crack head
  12. or you could sell it, but a saiga, and turn it into the gun you want ;-)...course make sure you get one with the mag dimples...i think all the 5.45x39 models have them but I know some 7.62's don't.
  13. If you make one for a Troy mag let me know ;-D
  14. I wonder if Greene's military and police supply on kingston pike in knoxville would?
  15. Rusty if you get serious about a 308 build shoot me a pm before you buy the parts....i can save you some wasted time and money.
  16. alright so the 308 version doesn't come with a wrench which totally s*cks! So i ordered the PRI 308 wrench from midway for ~$23 and your more then welcome to come up to knoxville and use it if you want. I should have it here tuesday...course with what gas cost you could probably buy one for yourself...never know when you might build another 308 ar ;-D EDIT: Now that I think about it it would probably just cost a couple bucks to ship it to you. If you wanted to pay the shipping cost use it and send it back that would be alright...i plan on making one or two more later on so I will need it again. PM me if interested.
  17. Sonny...my response was targeted at XD Shooter...since he wants one...not you that has one.... and you didnt buy the 4" one for $500????? that was a missed opportunity my friend :-( EDIT: and don't ever say "no offense" because if your gonna publicly dog my price thats exactly what you did and saying that never makes it better lol.
  18. I built my first rifle...never had a single problem and have jack diddly squat for tools and my prior building experience was with Legos. Since then I have built 5 or 6 more rifles.....and they all have worked flawlessly.....just sayin.
  19. Upgraded parts I recommend: Nickel Boron Bolt Carrier Group-makes cleaning much easier and the gun will run much longer with very little maintenance Mil-Spec parts-if they don't at least meet mil-spec then reliability can be hit or miss Heavy Buffer and a quality buffer spring (spikes tactical make some of the best of both) ....
  20. if you have some basic tools and patience build your own. Brownells has a great tuturial and its much more rewarding. I would recommend buying a stripped lower and then buying a complete "rifle kit" that has everything but the lower for your first build. Go to www.joeboboutfitters.com or www.palmettostatearmory.com to buy a kit
  21. talk to Phil357 on here...he's into that kinda stuff. Also there is a long range class you can inquire about that is happening on april 22nd for anyone that wants to come its just $25
  22. That Dan Wesson isn't real common these days so unless the thief keeps it, your friend has a good chance of getting it back. My friend got a glock of his back after being stolen 2 years prior so tell him not to lose hope.
  23. I have one for sell in the classifieds section....just saying http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/classifieds/item/40-for-sale-sw-629-1-44mag-6-no-lock/
  24. i have a Troy TRX 308 rail on the way...your more then welcome to use the wrench it comes with if it will work
  25. Great choices! Welcome to the club.
