  1. Awww...another project for when im not broke....at this rate maybe 2010 I dont know about 870's but you can find 18" factory mossberg barrels with the fiber glow front sight. Thats what I put on my ancient 500 to spurce her up from the 26" barrel.
  2. Have any of you ever actually had water that went through these tested to see if they truly did their job? just curiousity I hate relying on manufacturers "evidence" but it seems to be the only option most of the time.
  3. Yeah i remember back a month or so ago when I planned on buying a 5.45x39 upper cause the 1080 surplus tins were only $119.00 Now that they are up to $229.00 per 1080 I think im just gonna sell what I have and go the .223 route if/when I ever get an AR.
  4. lol
  5. Hopefully mine will look like that in the near future. I ordered the Lage upper and the improved collapsible stock. I already got a front grip for the railed upper and a c-more or Eotech at the house. Lage contacted me yesterday and let me know my number in line was up and my upper was built :-D
  6. You find out...lemme know..I would like to put a fiber one on my AOW.
  7. It will (even with SS195) penetrate a lvl IIa vest no problem. However...so will an AK pistol, or AR .223 pistol
  8. Heres a link to a really good deal in Louisville on an M11 with the Lage slow fire upper http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/index.cgi?db=nfafirearms&website=&language=&session_key=&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=long&db_id=14335&query=retrieval
  9. I had seen some full auto AK's in the $8,000 range. Check over at www.subguns.com and go to the classifieds. Personally though I dont think I would want a full auto AK....wicked...definitely...controllable on full auto...doubt it. You would be better served with a full auto AR lower so you could put all kinds of different uppers on it :-D If you have the $10-20,000 to spare. Or you could go the route I did and get either an M11/9 or Mac 10(.45) and upgrade the heck out of it as they are only in the $2800-4500 range and have almost as much customization options as an AR. I got my M11/9 from Coal Creek (well whenever the ATF gets the stamp back) FWIW and JWP over there is great to deal with.
  10. Good thing I dont have a wife
  11. The 5.7 is actually designed NOT to overpenetrate when it contacts soft tissue. At that point it tumbles...quite nastily at that. As long as you hit your target over-penetration should be a non issue. The FBI tests prove that penetration is more important then size and overpenetration is an overrated issue that has no reliable data to back it up. The 5.7 is no .22 more like a smaller .223
  12. thats not a bullpup! No dont worry I would join your ranks and buy a Tavor too (if im not broke when they are released)
  13. I bought mine from Hero Gear...Joe gave me an incredible deal on it since he was clearing them out for some Serbus. It was a leftover from ETS he had got. At the time he had two...I wish I had bought the other one also. Definitely a lot of fun. If your ever down in Knoxville lemme know and your more then welcome to shoot it.
  14. Awesome choice! Enjoy it. Dont forget to go to www.eliteammunition.com for your carry ammo.
  15. "the sky is falling the sky is falling"......snide remark from the guy who has gas masks, too many bullets, and other "paranoia essentials" ;-D Nice TJ quote btw. I think I might get on that pay as you go lifer plan also. I do like the Rifleman magazine quite a bit.
  16. haha thats pretty funny
  17. You really do learn something new everyday...but that does make a lot of sense Thanks for the info!
  18. I dont think anyone will try to touch carry permits in TN....hopefully restaurant carry(in places that serve alcohol) will become a reality like in Georgia
  19. hehehe
  20. Of course I carry concealed! Gun depends on my mood but typically is a 1911 locked and loaded.
  21. For some reason im sure theres a law somewhere this violates...that being said: 1. Its awesome 2. I emailed this to my friends 3. I think a lower recoil hi-cap 9mm would be a better choice....maybe a glock 17 with a 33rd clip?
  22. yes redbox is awesome...they just now started selling their used titles for $7 also....i checked yesterday and they actually had some really new stuff like less then a month old titles for $7!
  23. Yes if your not already a benefactor give yourself a little early present by helping out those that help us have an enjoyable gun forum.
  24. I would probably be more interested in Kel-Tecs new bullpup honestly
