Thanks guys... both of my Glocks are 9mm (17 & 26). I'm going to keep an eye out of the bulging, but I'm sure that I've not seen anything like this yet. I'm pretty picky sometimes, especially since I'm still new at reloading. I reload my 9mm's with 5.5gr of Unique, using 115gr fmj for target shooting only. Edited to include that both pistols are Gen 4.

I've never heard this before and it seems too odd to be true, but the other day there was this guy at work who was a "gun guy" too. We got to talking about guns and reloading and he asked me if I was reloading my brass from my glock. I said sure... why not? He proceeded to tell me that the Glock will bell out the lower end of the brass, rendering it useless. Something to do with the way the cartridge doesn't fit tightly in the chamber. I called bullshit on that, and he called someone while I was there that backed up his story. I'm still calling BS on it... Has anyone ever heard of this before?

First I've heard of this, but checking mine... it's says the repair has already been completed.

A simple Ruger KLCR .357. Never would have thought those to go as scarce as they did over the past few months. Even Buds can't get em.

Pmags @ Bill Goodmans Nashville
charlessummers replied to coffman19's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I've decided to avoid the Bill Goodmans show like the plague... entry fee plus parking plus no vendors there worth dealing with = not a good time. I need reloading supplies! -
I'll take their whiskey... but we have better bacon!

In our class, we were taught there were three conditions to consider before using our weapons. All three must exist... and if one wasn't there, then we don't reach for our weapon. The bad guy would need to demonstate the intent, the opportunity, and the ability to inflict bodily harm before we would justifiably use our weapon. Anything else... let the police sort out this domestic issue. You are not a cop and your weapon isn't to protect property, only human life and the three conditions listed above is good advise.

With a cold front coming through this weekend... I think I'll be staying home.

He was tailgating me and I wouldn't let him pass. I was already doing over the speed limit, and truthfully, there wasn't much I could have done anyway. Yes, he toned down rather quickly... although I never acted as though I was going to unholster my gun or even pretend it was there. When I saw that, that's when I told him I was going to work and for him to stop following me. He drove off the other way, thank goodness. I just don't understand why people get so bent out of shape about driving. It's a fact that Nashville traffic can be carzy at times, but that's when you need to relax and crank the radio up or something... geeze, no sense it letting it get your blood pressure up. You'll eventually get to where you're going, right?

Thank goodness for open carry. Had a guy follow me to work this morning to "confront me" about the way I was driving. Of course I didn't go straight to work once I figured out he was following me, but rather stopped in at the West Nashville Police Station. He was pretty pissed until he saw how calm I was... and that I had my Glock on my hip. I told him I was going to work now and he needed to "have nice day" (FPSRussia). I don't usually open carry, but when I do... I carry a Glock! No seriously, I don't usually open carry, but this morning I had to play dress up for work and wear a button down shirt, neatly tucked in. So, I carried my Glock this morning on my side and removed it promptly before entering my building. Felt good though...

Has a agood head on his shoulders... but it's best you don't ask him about it.

Having a brother stationed over in South Korea, a sister in law and two young nieces there too... this isn't good news at all. But, there seems to be no real fear from them yet. If anything happens there, she and the babies will be forced to leave. My brother will have to stay.

Goodmans's Gun ans Kinfe Show March 16-17
charlessummers replied to sirdanny4011's topic in Events and Gatherings
I went yesterday and was HIGHLY disappointed. No one was selling any reloading supplies, and that's all I really wanted to go for. Almost bought a GP100, but talked myself out of it. I think I'm done with the Bill Gooodman shows... -
How do you handle it? I spilled some in the garage floor this afternoon... quite more than normal. I swept it up and put it in a bottle, then filled it with water. I wasn't going to use it after sweeping it up, and didn't want to just toss it in the garbage. Is this the best way to dispose of it? Now that it's in the bottle of water, what do I do with it?

Reloading .38 special with 140gr XTP
charlessummers replied to charlessummers's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Do you think that 140gr TXP with 4.6gr of Unique would be sufficient? I'm not looking for +p. I may just wait and buy some FMJ at the gun show next week... Probably 110gr. -
I found a box of Hornady XTP 38cal 140 grain bullets today and thought I'd try loading up some of this .38 special brass that I've got primed. Using Unique powder, I cannot find any load data for this combo... My Unique chart lists 148gr, but not 140gr. Everything else that I've found online is for loading these in .357mag, which is not my intention. Anyone care to help a poor fella?

Any secrets that I need to be aware of? I'm still waiting on the dies to arrive, but been reading up on what I need to know beforehand. Also, is David going to be at the Bill Goodmans show in March? I need some .38 spl bullets. And maybe some more powder...

After reloading a few 9mm's, I was finally able to get out today and test them out. I'm happy to report that they worked wonderfully in my Glocks 17 and 26! My loads were 115gr FMJ, with 5.5grains of Unique powder. OAL was 1.15 with fed through the pistols without a hitch. The brass that I was able to recover (shooting outside) was relatively clean with no splitting. I'm guessing that I'm going to stick with this formula for my target ammo since it works. It sure feels good to shoot your own ammo without a problem... or at least it did for me.

Well I feel better now... I guess I just needed to hear their explanation. :puke:
