  1. This one came with 4 mags... so hopefully I can forgo the extremely large G21. I looked at those too, but the 30 was just about perfect for someone wanting a .45. I'm headed somewhere tomorrow to shoot this thing and will try one or two of the above mentioned ammo... as long as I can find it locally. I know SD rounds aren't cheap, but I'd rather know that the gun will cycle them than to guess. I know Wally World carried the Winchesters, so I'll start there. Hornady may be a BPS, but I aint going there again until after Christmas! It was a mad house today when looking for a holster.   Thanks a bunch!   ^Misread that... you meant only the G21 mag for backup, not the G21 itself lol.
  2. Recently I purchased my first .45 acp, which was a full sized Ruger 1911. I was impressed with the gun and the .45 caliber. Today, I picked up a sweet deal on a G30. I figured that I'd try carrying it instead of my G26 ever now and then if/when needed but I've only shot the 230grain FMJ in the Ruger. Is there a "preferred" round to carry for self defense? I don't carry FMJ in any other round so it just doesn't seem right here, although my understanding is that what round the 1911 was designed for. New to the G30... so I'm hoping for a little guidance from you guys. My other carry guns are usually filled with Hornady Critical Defense.
  3. And I get to enjoy Ketel One vodka tonight... Smoothest vodka around.
  4. Update on my little LCR-357   Received it back from Ruger today. Reairs made: 1. Replaced Cylinder, 2. Replaced Cylinder Latch, 3. Replaced D-Bushing, 4. Replaced Ejector   Says that it has been repaired, safety function check, proof test, and range test firing has been completed. Released for shipping.   Having said all of that, it still does the same thing as before. I don't know if my OCD'ness will let me live with this... although Ruger says it's fine. Guess I'll see if I can trade it in for a S&W 637 so such... although I already have a .38 J-Frame. I'd really like to keep this one though.
  5. I looked over this entire thread and no one mentioned Aberlour Single Malt! When I first got interested in Scotch, I asked for help and was sold a bottle of the 10 year old. That was fine until I found out they had a 12 year old... and that was fine until I found out they have a 16 year old! Reading this thread is now going to cost me a trip to Frugals this weekend... thanks.   Oh yeah, someone mentioned Vodka? I know it's cheap, but Absolute is absolutely ok in my book!
  6. Can't believe no one has pointed you to this website yet: http://www.corneredcat.com/     Enjoy that fine revolver you have. I like it!
  7. At least there were no flames...
  8. It only matters if it doesn't skip a round. But like I said, that was with my son shooting, and I'm not too sure what happened as he was in the lane next to me when it happened. You can turn the cylinder both directions too. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. When to the RK Show today and looked at a few other LCRs and I was surprised to see every one of them did the same thing. .22 cal, and .38 cal, both. Didn't see any .357 mags like mine but I was have to assume that I would have found the same with them too. I sent it back to Ruger on Monday and it was shipped back within 24 hours of its arrival. I should get it back on Tuesday and cant wait to to hear what they said about it. If it's normal, I can't live with this and will probably try to trade it off for a S&W j-frame, I really want to like this little pistol.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Quote: "According to the family member, there were also marks and dents on two other walls, indicating that the bullet ricocheted around the room."   So this thing entered the home, penetrated the walls, bounced around the room (according to the other picture the rooms were drywall), and the bullet was pretty much undamaged? Not saying the story isn't true... but WOW.
  11. We lost our dog (Muffitt) years ago. Every time I smell a skunk now, I think of her. She was a good dog...   BTW: The smell never really goes away. Good luck!
  12. This kind of brain-washing?   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtGrp5MbzAI   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJFC1qFCgyA   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfhHHCXxVe4   This crap makes me SICK!   Doesn't it remind you of this?   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JB45qymNQEo
  13. One that I have to admit to was letting in the dog after she was sprayed by a skunk. Of course, I had a terrible sinus infection and I couldn't smell anything! How was I to know? lol.
  14. Gut a deer... Now I didn't do it, but I was there when it was happening. (It was in a basement... but the smell didn't stay there)
  15. What about the little girl rubbing her foot/boot in the guys blood? She's a little creepy if you ask me, and she has to be up to something...
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4OE78spknk#t=12   Here's an example of a .500 magnum shooting twice, so I'm sure it can happen. This girl got lucky if you ask me.

  18. It's only a couple of months old. I think Ruger needs to see this.
  19. It was that way from the factory. I though maybe it was just a little different since I was comparing a Ruger and a Smith... It's only had 50 rounds of .357 and 50 rounds of .38spl through it and was cleaned like I do with all my other revolvers. I'll call Ruger tomorrow. I know they'll make it right and since it's not my EDC, I won't miss it too much. I really want to like this little revolver but I don't like cylinder doing this at all. Thanks!
  20. Thanks.
  21. Sounds like I need to check out an 1100! Used to have a 11-48 a few years ago... guess I should have hung on to that one. Thanks!
  22. I want to try skeet/trap shooting. None of my black shotguns would be up to the task, as I'm sure I'll need something with a longer barrel. I'm looking for a semi-auto shotgun that I can pick up on a budget, but still introduce me, and possibly my 15 year old son, into a sport that we may or may not like. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to spend a fortune on a gun unless I really take well to this. I'm just looking for something fun for my son and I to do together.
  23. My wife doesn't know the difference... Lucky me! There's the back one... then there's the shiny one.
  24. I spent much more money than I made the one year that I decided to rent our old house. The only person that made money was the rental agent...
  25. The bass is JPP have always loved the plastic worm. My personal favorite is the Red Shad Powerworm. Yummm!   Nice fish! Has the draw down begun? Probably still a little early for that, but that's always a good time for Priest.
