1. Is that like putting 6 cylinders in all cars, thinking it'll slow people down?
2. Already have a G17, and bought a G26 this morning. I guess I'll go ahead and get the G19 too... as I like to do crazy stuff like that :dunno: (It's a sickness, I know). But, with the G19 holding 15rds, what are the chances that they'll be axed by the "high capacity magazine" ban, if it happens?
3. I was at Nashville Armory today, they were still smoking busy, but had what I wanted and didn't have to wait long. No ammo, but they did have 30 rd Pmags there for twenty something dollars. Limit one per customer per day... which I liked. (Good guys there...  )   The Glock 26 was priced right... but I don't know if they're going to be on the O's chopping block or not since it only holds 10 rds. Still the 19 and 17 were priced right. That's all I looked at. Less than 10 minutes for the TICS.   I'm still buying 9mm when I can, but 100rd pks of .233 are hard to find anywhere. I ordered three boxes of Zombie Max last Saturday night from Palmetto State, but haven't heard a peep out of them since getting my order acknowledgement from them. Credit card was charged, so maybe they're enroute. The next gun shows in the Nashville area are in January... and unless I'm planning on buying reload equipment, I'm staying home. I imagine the prices are going to be crazy here too.
4. I'm not going to do it as my wife has said MANY times that she doesn't want a gun for Christmas. But, I was at Academy last night buying a safe to make sure that no one does anything stupid with my firearms, and browsed by the gun counter for some reason. There was a guy there looking for a gun for his wife. He was asking the sales person about the background check and told him he was buying this for his wife. The sales person said, "Oh, if it's a gift it's ok." I thought that was a little wierd as the form asks if you are going to be the owner... or something like that, to make sure you aren't buying the gun for someone else. What are your thoughts on this? I would have refused to sell the man the pistol based on this, or would have at least had a manager sign off on it.   BTW: That browse almost cost me $550 on a Glock 26!
5. It's an open carry state... and just ordered a new holster for my Glock 17. Just sayin'
6. I didn't know that I had a weapon of war... I though it was a varmit rifle?
7. My wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas, and the only thing that I could think to tell her was for some Trijicon's for my Glock 17. Instead, she got me a gift card to the Nashville Armory for our 19th anniversary on the 10th, and told me that I could use that to get my "sight thinggys". After looking around on the web, I'm not too sure that I still want to do this. Afterall, the gun isn't a carry gun and usually sits inside the box. If I needed it for defensive purposes in the middle of the night, would the sights be charged? What I'm reading is that there needs to be a light source to charge them, and that the charge can take about 5 minutes to do so. I'd like to hear your opinions on these, based on what I said about keeping the gun inside of the box... or maybe even the bedside table drawer.   Thanks!
8. What can I say? I've been typing this since Saturday...

10. Fishing rod? Zombie targets? Very long barrel?
11. [sub]I paid $875 (out the door price) for my Windham, and I'm as happy as I can be with it. I don't know how close that is to your $600 mark before taxes and TICS, but it's a hell of a deal. It also included the removeable carry handle with sights, so that wasn't an added expense, Dicks had the Bushmaster Carbon 15 for $699 which included a red-dote scope that I considered. Seemed like a nice rifle, but the jury is still out (with me) about the plastic rifles. [/sub] [sub]Taxes on $600, is about $59.00, then the TICS feeof $10.00 makes a $600 gun come out to $669.... so maybe it wasn't that close.[/sub]
12. If the media wants to continue this absurd gun control thing, let’s make sure of what we’re hearing. First off, guns do not kill people. Stupid people kill people, and yes, that sometimes includes guns. Maybe we just need to take away the guns from the stupid people and we’ll all be ok. Nope, the second amendment protects the stupid people with guns as it protects everyone. After all, stupid people sometimes have babies and no one is taking them away, and to me that is more dangerous than any handgun I’ve ever seen! Back to the media: This morning on the local channel 5 news station they were reporting something about a car with tinted windows and what was recovered from the vehicle during a traffic stop. One of the items was a handgun… but not just any ole handgun, it was a “Luger LCP”! A few weeks ago it was reported by a couple of stations and newspapers that Chris Bostick, the Carnival Kia guy, was in possession of a handgun and an “AK-15”, after being arrested on a domestic assault charge. Neither of which were used, displayed, or otherwise factored into play at the time of the assault. Chris Bostick also had turned himself in to the police, and the guns being possessed were at home during that time. Shortly before the election, one of the candidates for Congress posted a reply on Facebook regarding Obama’s statement about us “sticking to our guns and religion”. The post was a picture of his handgun that he sticks too, and was turned around to sound like he was trying to intimidate Obama which wasn’t the case at all. (At least I didn’t read it that way, and the newspaper had grossly misquoted the post) The gun was none other than the infamous “911”! Now, I’m not saying that there’s any media bias… but c’mon now. Either they are ignorant, or they are very smart and I find it hard to believe the first. So why would they purposely make those mistakes? Ok, the first handgun that I mentioned was the “Luger LCP”. There is no such gun, but there is the Luger, which was German “Nazi” handgun used during World War II that most people are familiar with. The Luger also seems “scarier” than the Ruger LCP which is a very small .380acp handgun made for personal protection, and usually marketed to women. Next I mentioned the “AK-15”! AK? “Isn’t that the Russian Assault Rifle? Why would anyone need one of those scary things?” It sure is, but it’s the AK-47, and is NOT the gun that Chris was in “possession” of. He actually had the civilian model AR-15, and it is NOT an assault rifle. It is a varmint hunting rifle. Finally there is the Congressman candidate with the “911”! Once again, 911 is NOT a gun, but rather a time in US History that EVERYONE remembers. Labeling his gun (a 1911) a 911 relates it to that day. So you tell me… why the mistakes? My theory is that the media believes that there are more people who know nothing about handguns than those who do. If so, they will not notice these little errors and will possibly make the relations to these as I have mentioned above. If enough people keep hearing this and continue to believe these “scary” guns are bad… you end up with a majority of people who oppose all guns, and will most likely support a “weapons ban”, especially if they have never owned or fired a gun before. As they say, somewhere… ignorance is bliss, and that’s what the media is counting on.

bad day

Sorry to hear that....
15. I don't know if this is the correct place to post this, but I didn't see them listed in the vendor forum. Anyway, my son and went to the RK Gun show this weekend with the intent of buying my first AR-15. I took my S&W .357Mag to either sell or trade up to the new rifle, and as soon as I walked in the door I had a buyer for the pistol. We looked around at the gun show but found nothing that suited our wants, so we left. On the way home, I decided to stop by Goodlettsville Gun Store since it was open, and every other time I went by there they had already closed. Walking in I was greeted by the guys there in a friendly manner which suprised me. I say surprised as my last stop into an unnamed gun shop in Bellevue left me with a bad feeling. These guys were friendly and took the time to show me all of the rifles they had and explain the differences, which was a great help since these are all new to me. I did end up buying a nice Windham Weaponry rifle for a fair price! (Nice rifle, BTW). My point is, I felt the need to share with you my good experience with Goodlettsville Gun Shop. They don't have a huge shop and a million guns there, but had what I wanted. I just wish there was a shop like this closer to the Donelson area.
16. AMERICA'S HUNTERS --- Pretty Amazing! The world's largest army... America 's hunters! I had never thought about this... A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states and arrived at a striking conclusion: There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin .. Allow me to restate that number: 600,000 Over the last several months, Wisconsin's hunters became the eighth largest army in the world. More men under arms than in Iran . More than France and Germany combined. These men deployed to the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin , to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed. That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan's 700,000 hunters, all of whom have now returned home safely. Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes the fact that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. And then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states. It's millions more. The point? America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower. Hunting... it's not just a way to fill the freezer. It's a matter of national security. *************************************** That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic, want to see us disarmed. Food for thought, when next we consider gun control. Overall it's true, so if we disregard some assumptions that hunters don't possess the same skills as soldiers, the question would still remain... What army of 2 million would want to face 30, 40, 50 million armed citizens??? (IF YOU AGREE, AS I DO, PASS IT ON, I FEEL GOOD THAT I HAVE AN ARMY OF MILLIONS WHO WOULD PROTECT OUR LAND AND I SURE DON'T WANT THE GOVERNMENT TAKING CONTROL OF THE POSSESSION OF FIREARMS) For the sake of our freedom, don't ever allow gun control or confiscation of guns.
17. If no-one saw this coming... they weren't looking. Any predictions on what's next?
18. BTW: I met this guy in Las Vegas during ICAST in 2006. Great guy! He was soliciting his fishing lures and ended up trading a few of his for a few of ours. Glad to see this video! Thanks to the OP.
19. Most likely to end up in a pawn shop somewhere. Hopefully since the report was filed it will be discovered. May take awhile to get back... but I wish you luck.

21.
However, the difference is, he has done everything he said he would do!
Yup... so did Hitler. You'd think, "Didn't anyone read Mein Kampf". If so, they would have known what was coming.... Same for Obama voters. Maybe some of them should learn to read before voting.
22. Saw no signs when I voted early at the Belle Meade City Hall, but left it in the truck anyway. I'm sure there was another ordinance that covered it... but damned if I know. Just being safe was better than dealing with anyone on the Belle Meade police department.
23.
Best deal and great to deal with. http://theisholsters.com/
