If you start chasing some one you are crossing a line. The farther you go, the more you are at risk legally. Just think it through a little farther. Some one robs you. You figure out he lives next door. So you grab a shotgun and go next door to get your stuff back. I think we all know that would get you into trouble. So NO....using lethal force to get your wallet back ain't gonna fly in court.

I've been working on timed speed draw and taking an ACCURATE first shot. If you don't have a grip established on the draw, the tendency is that the first shot alignment is off. Now, you might not notice if you aren't going for a fast (under 1.75 sec) time AND with an accurate and Aimed (using sights) shot. What I'm doing is my thumb goes behind the leather and is in position when the gun clears. So my thumb is running along my waistband while clearing my shirt. An aggressive forward stance exposes the grip more.

Oh yeah... Get the Belt first

A bit of advice based on my experience.... Don't buy a bunch of crappy stuff when for just a little more you can get the solution. You don't have to spend a fortune I bought several cheap belts and ran all over town looking in stores....ended up getting a Wilderness Instructor belt. EXCELLENT. $40 As long as you are ok with a nylon belt...you'll never need to replace it. You don't need the lined version I bought several holsters and drove all over town looking for different ones and then got a good clip/IWB Holster. www.shieldedholsters.com is a good balance of cost/quality and they ship FAST. $40-$50 including shipping I have a Double clip for my Glock 17 and a Single Clip for Glock 26 The Double is more stable, the single let's you adjust the Cant freely but doesn't stay in one position....good sometimes.

Hmmmmm..... Where did he get the loan? I'll bet he was followed from there. An extra level conspiracy theory is that some one from there tipped off the robbers

Academy Sports in Rivergate has a totally adequate Uncle Mike's Padded Sling "Game Winner" I think...comes with Swivels and is $16.99
-
Well...THAT seems a bit on the extreme side of "What if?" A very real issue to think about is that you are giving a 'handle' for your gun to be taken away from you. But if they're close enough to grab the sling, they are close enough to grab the Barrel.
-
If you see this in time..... Look at Blueforce Gear. Yes, it's $50 but you can make it into 1 point, 2 point, or 3 point. The idea behind was that you could take that sling with you not knowing WHAT you were going to carry but it would work with everything. As long as the mount is ok for you, it should work however you want. Once you determine WHY you want a sling it will get easier to get a cheap one. I know I only want a sling to free up my hands when I'm not shooting but don't want to set the Gun down. I like 'African Carry'. I don't want to carry extra rounds on my sling. So a simple 2 point totally does the job for me.
-
Yep..it matters. If you sling blocks your light that is a problem. If you get a "Tri Rail" mount, it clamps to your Tube and let's you mount a light to one side (missing your sling). Some 3 point slings run down the weak side of the gun...if you use a Sidesadlle to hold extra rounds, that is a problem. The other thing to watch out for is length. I have a Mossberg 20" with lugs at either end. I bought a sling that turned out to be too short.

Question for fellow LCP owners
EastHipster replied to dbla's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I have Keltec P32 and P11 and I can't use extensions when pocket carrying. IWB try adjusting the angle of the grip against your hip. Makes a huge difference. -
I got to compare Metro, RIA, ATI and Para at the same time. Metro Arms was the nicest so I bought it. I had first round failed to feed issues and had to send it in for a setup. Now it is 100% and an excellent pistol. My local Gunsmith (1911 specialist) said that he has to do ramp and extractor work on lots o of high end Pistols and he didn't consider that to be Warranty work...was impressed that they did it.

No Unauthorized Weapons????
EastHipster replied to Randy W's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
So you CAN carry there? The signs are at every trailhead and sitting right in the middle of the trail. Also has the rules about "no running" etc... -
No Unauthorized Weapons????
EastHipster replied to Randy W's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I wouldn't worry about CC with that sign. I was at Radnor Park earlier. Their sign is totally clear....no guns "including HCP holders". No ambiguity there. -
The Dickerson Walmart in Nashville almost never has a clerk in Sporting Goods. The Rivergate store pretty much always does. Hendersonville (Indian Lakes) has been the fastest for me. And yes I would rather support my local store (and I do with Gun purchases) but I'm not paying nearly double for equally crappy Ammo.

Just in case you missed it: Bungling North Carolina Suitor Accidentally Shoots Himself During Date I love how the Gun "went off somehow". Some one pulled the trigger Don't be this guy. Use a holster Keep your finger off the trigger. Sounds easy.

Well.... They are looking at it from the same perspective as asking if anyone smokes in the house. I would be annoyed if asked by my our doctor. I've left questions blank on forms before. I just had to fill out a PILE of goofy paperwork for my kid's school. Questions get dumber every year (and so do the kids!)

Yes. I do say At the Gun Range? Conversation piece. In line at the store? Nah. I think he should get a custom holster that says "please ask me about my gun" with a big smiley face on it. Or maybe a Blinking LCD message that scrolls across his belt. That way the guy in line behind him can write down the website URL without disturbing him
-
Seems like a bad premise from the beginning. your gun isn't meant to be a conversation piece. And carrying literature around to give people? But at least you aren't going to the Park with your shoulder sling Pistol and Cammo

6:00 Open Carry at Eastland Kroger
EastHipster replied to EastHipster's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Thing is, if you ARE going to OC, then use the advantage of not having to conceal it and have a more convenient placement. 2nd, he was standing in a crowded grocery line with people DIRECTLY behind him. A little kid could have disarmed him easily. -
i just got back from the Eastland Kroger (nashville) A guy in front of me in the Produce section had a full sized semi-auto Clipped in the back of his pants at 6:00. His T Shirt was hiked up and tucked behind the grip. I started to tell him that he was 'showing' but the way he was walking and the way the shirt was up it looked intentional. OK.... Sure, we have a right to OC...but clipping it in your pants with no retention where any one could walk up on you and shoot you in the Spine seems ill-advised. P.S.' I was carrying a larger pistol than he was but nobody knew about it.

Look at these smooth VZ Grips 320s I use aggressive VZ double diamonds. They don't bother my hands but they do dig into my hip with IWB carry. I wish I had gotten the Elite Carry
