I think they're great, bought my Mosin there, and I also pick up my reloading consumables from them. Really nice guys. Helps that they're 10mins from my house.

I gotta say +1 for Guns and Leather, very reasonable prices and knowledgeable help. Franklin Gun Shop was $180 more than they were on my last gun purchase... I really like either location.

What do YOU use to clean and oil your gun?
dbla replied to pattywak's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Anyone use Steel Shield Oil? It comes in a little pen applicator that looks pretty handy. -
I'm a proud owner of a new XD9sc. Thanks for your help!

Not really for two reasons... The pocket it occupied was my front left...it printed like crazy and it took the place of my wallet, which I then had to sit on. I also didn't feel confident in my ability to draw the weapon from my pocket, I bought a simple Tagua iwb holster for it and it's cake. Ran it tonight to the movies without the pearce grip, the wife had to ask what side I was wearing it on ;-) -a

Carrying a "Compact" 1911 - "Advanced" carry gun?
dbla replied to Viracnis's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Not to hijack this thread, but for a budget conscious carrier... How does the Bersa 9mm stand up? It's sorta 1911y... Any thoughts on that one? -
Yeah, working on the bigger gun... Probably an XD9sc.

So I've got my LCP, it's my EDC weapon. I typically carry it IWB Tagua Sport Holster that I just got from Guns and Leather. I have the Pearce Grips on my weapon's magazine's and I've noticed that my shirt hangs up on them when I bend over/move around... Does anyone else carry with these grips? I don't think it's excessive, but it's MORE then I'd like. I'm gonna try carrying tonight sans-pearce and see what I think... But I wanted to get some peer feedback. -a

It's true, I got out and went into Walgreens today... left my gun in the car (hidden) and realized halfway to the toothpaste that I was naked. It gets to be a weird feeling to NOT have one. Also pay attention to how your situational awareness increases. I can't carry at work, but since I've started carrying my awareness at work has jumped ten-fold. Welcome to the club, you're one of us now. -a

Any thoughts on the Bersa Thunder 9 UC?
-
Welcome! In out at Charlies' pretty often too!

Will do, the only reason im thinking of sticking to 9, is because I reload and adding another caliber just means I need to keep another plate spinning. I load for my Dad too, and he's gotta 9. Might as well keep it all together. 40 is tempting for carry though.

Thanks. Some great advice so far. I think ASP has a rental fee right, one fee as many different guns as you want?
-
I actually have no brand loyalty. I'll check out the M&P. I'm mostly trying to stay in the same calibers. 9mm primarily. My Rugers thus far have just been the "right guns" at the right time. I'm just looking for quality in the 4-500$ range. Anyone know a range with a wide rental selection near Nashville??

Okay guys, I few months back I purchased a Ruger P95 for home protection. What I didn't know is that I had started down the long and twisting path of gun purchase addiction. Since then I have gotten my HCP, purchased an LCP, and Mosin Nagant. I've taken a little break but now ive got some money coming in again and I've got the okay from the wife to start savings towards the "next gun" What I'm looking at is either a G26 or an XDsc. I want to carry it, on and off instead of the lcp. Any thoughts on the matter? I like the Glock because of the reputation and broad scope of the brand but I don't want to overlook any other possible options. I do like that the XD is cheaper, is there anything else I should look at??

I've done some searching but I can't find a definitive answer. Are we able to CC in Centennial?? Does anyone know??

Hey Guys, So I pulled all the bullets and redid the cases. I had the bullet seating die setup completely wrong. I didn't have a good understanding of what the die was actually doing, this time around they look like factory rounds. I'll post some pictures this afternoon.
-
I'm going to pull all the bullets and start over. I'll update as i go.
-
Okay cool, I thought I was bairly getting a crimp at all. They come out of the seating die looking like that... It's almost as if the crimp die doesn't do anything. Should I ease up on the ram of my seating die?
-
So I'm reloading my first 380. It's going well but I've had three casings come out with a weird crease in the casing. Are these safe to shoot?? These creases came out of the seating die. In the picture the right hand picture has the weird crease, the left looks normal.

Gotcha. Thanks.

I was in Cumberland Transit the other day. They sell Benchmades Auto Knives, including one model of what I've know to be called a Stiletto (!!) the lady at the counter said that their illegal to carry unless you have a carry permit. I thought TN's HCP only applied to handguns. Am I wrong on this?? Is there a... Knife carry permit? (I feel silly even typing that) -a
