  1. Cool man. I'll tell you that so far, I've handled the Metro Arms, the RIA's and the ATI's, the Metro Arms had a significantly better feel (quality wise) than the others. In the reviews I've been able to find on all of them, they're about equal in reliability... If I could have had my pick I would have opted for a Hard Chrome Commander I think, I ended up with a Blued... I'm a little iffy on the HC, I can't decide if it's too "thug life" for me... I like guns, but I don't think I like guns that bling.
  2. Do a search on Bud's for "AMC" and it should come up. I just ordered a blued commander today from them. -a
  3. I'm about two weeks away from buying one myself (invoices are pending grr!) And I'm actually opting for a Metro Arms American Classic... They're in the 460-500$ range and I think the Fit and Finish of the MAAC's are MUCH higher than the RIA's. However, in my obsessive review searches both are reviewed VERY highly for the price. -a
  4. That's funny, I freelance over at the Dillards Fulfillment center off Brick Church, which is posted. Small world. I leave it in the car, but then again, I don't technically "work" for Dillards. -a
  5. +1 I was in there yesterday with my wife looking at 1911s, the gentleman that helped us was nothing but friendly and accommodating. That's been my consistent experience every time I've visited. G & L is my go to LGS. :
  6. Correct.
  7. How difficult would it be to fit an ambi safety in that Commander? I want a smaller 1911 but I'm a lefty.
  8. He's got regular hours, 9-5 Monday - Friday I think. And less on saturday, closed on Sunday. He had a full array when I was in there on Friday.
  9. Thinking about getting one of these too... I'm waiting for a couple jobs to pay out and I'll probably swing by Bellshire and pick up a Commander.
  10. p.s. I received this in a gun deal through this site... That's why I'm iffy on what sort of ammo it is.
  11. This looks like the PowrBall but it has a Starline Headstamp... is this just OLD Corbon Ammo??
  12. Do you need to call him to order?? I'm intrigued.
  13. Do many of you guys buy used guns from pawn shops?? If so what are some of the common areas of the gun that you'll check. I can assume that you check the action, trigger, chamber, barrel etc etc... Is there anything else in particular that I should be looking at? Do you have any tips in regards to bartering or anything?? Thanks for any info! -Aaron

    .22WMR Derringers

I'm looking on Bud's they look pretty reasonable, around $200.
  15. Anyone have any experience with the various .22 mag derringers? Thinking of getting one as a backup/car pistol. I've also been looking at the Bond Arms Derringers too in .357 mag. Anyone got any experiences with them? -Aaron
  16. I've used Power Pistol for both 9mm and 380 ACP. It's working great for me, I also just use Rainier Bullets they're shooting' pretty straight. I don't use my 380 Lee dies anymore, sold my LCP in favor of a PF9. If you need dies, toss me a PM. -Aaron
  17. It's not. I've CCed there a couple times now. Let me know if you want a better "dinner out" recommendation tho. ;-)

    Kel-Tec PF9

I just picked up a PF9 last week to replace my LCP. It was a major, major improvement. I was getting really frustrated with the LCP mostly because I couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, I'm sure it was mostly due to my inexperience, but with the PF9 and it's higher profile sights I was getting decent groups upon first firing. It is a fire-breathing dragon though, being as lightweight as it is it'll really bark when you pull the trigger. So far, I'd highly recommend it. I like it equally as much as my XD9.
  19. I don't know if this is appropriate for this forum, but I have 16 rounds of Speer Gold Dot in 380 ACP (90 Gr) and I was wondering if anyone in the Nashville area would be willing to trade for a quality carry round in 9mm. I just traded my LCP for a PF9 and I have some ammo leftover... I also have a pile of 380 brass and a few Hornady bullets I'd toss in... I hope this is appropriate for this forum as I can't post in the buy/sell forum yet... -A

    Hi

    Greetings from Nashville!
  21. +1
  22. I drive 30mins from Nashville to shoot at Charile Hafner's Memorial Range (he allows Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, whatever)... As for where to find a Mosin, I know for a fact that Nashville Sporting Arms off Charolette has 4 or 5, Franklin Gun Shops has some, but I wouldn't give those guys my money...
  23. Good luck man, great weapon. Beware though, 20 rounds will bruise a shoulder ;-)
  24. You need to tear it down and degrease it first. They can from time to time have some of that lovely cosmoline in the barrel. Do a complete field strip (instructions found in countless locations on the interwebs) and soak the parts in some sort of degreaser (I used Mineral Spirits) then oil and reassemble. Some Mosins can have the cosmoline so soaked into their stocks that you need to heat the stock up and let it ooze out, I haven't found this to be the case with mine, but I hear it can happen. Ammo is readily available, I usually pay about 7$ for a pack of $20, this is corrosive ammo. After shooting the corrosive stuff you'll need to rinse the barrel and bolt head with some something to counteract the muric salt in the Commie primers. I use windex with ammonia sprayed into the barrel followed by some patches. After the windex, clean normally with solvent and then oil the barrel. Hope this helps, did it come with the bayonet and tools?? -a
  25. Check out A-H Reloading here in Nashville. A good, new shop. Great prices and selection.
