  1. I've got a Metro Arms Commander, it's a possibility but I want a polymer pistol to to fit that roll.
  2. But more so then going out to CHMR and standing in one place and shooting in a straight line right? That's all I'm saying. ;-)
  3. I had been carrying a Kel Tec PF9, I liked the gun but I had problems being a lefty with dropping the mag after each shot. So now I'm looking for something different, and I have a slightly better budget this time around. So far I have been considering the Glock G36 and the Walther PPS. My top priorities are slimness in the waistband (I'm pretty set on a single stack, unless you can convince me otherwise), recoil, and reliability. I'd prefer to be able to use whatever I wind up with in an IDPA context as well so I have the opportunity to train in real life(ish) scenarios. Has anyone had any experience with the G36 and/or the PPS that could chime in? I'm perfectly fine carrying either a 9mm, or a 45. I'm not particularly interested in picking a .40 just because I don't want to add a third caliber to my collection just yet. I appreciate any feedback you can offer. -Aaron
  4. Hey guys, thank you SO much for how welcoming and patient you were today. Both my Dad and I had a complete blast. We'll definitely be seeing you in a couple weeks. Dad and I went from the range (lunch) then to the gun shop to look at a Glock for him. We're both really excited, and we'll be practicing in the meantime. (I'll watch my trigger finger ;-) ) -A
  5. I'm very excited. Thanks guys.
  6. Thanks!
  7. Thanks so much for the offer. I've got a commander I might use sometime. But for now I'm gonna try my M&P.
  8. Yeah we'll see. I think shes getting the next gun in the family. ;-)
  9. Oh man, thanks so much for the offer, im back wards though. A lefty. :-/
  10. Email sent. :-)
  11. Awesome thanks guys. I think this coming Saturday we'll be there as observers. We still need some gear it looks like to compete. But the next meet I'll be shootin'. -A
  12. Hey Guys, I see a post similar to this posted above but I figured I'd ask the same question in relation to Nashville. My Dad and I both have gotten into firearms together, we moved here from California where neither of us shot at all, I bought my first gun for home protection about six months ago and it's been a slippery slope of money spending ever since. This morning on our way back from Charlie Hafner's we were discussing how we can go, load our mags, shoot them empty (rinse and repeat) till we're blue in the face, but eventually it's going to get boring. We'd like to do some sort of Run & Gun or "course shooting" to spice it up, and so that we can get involved in the community aspect of it. This afternoon I've been doing some researching and I think I'd like to start looking into IDPA. My question is this: Is there someone in Nashville that might wanna get together and grab some coffee and talk over what all is involved in shooting IDPA, and maybe direct me to the nearest club etc etc... I think I'm going to go the MCTS match out near Dickson this coming Saturday, but if you have any recommendations for some more information I can get I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks guys! -Aaron
  13. Ah well, maybe I can talk the wife into a PPQ in a couple months.
  14. Ah, that would make sense...
  15. CS? That's a new acronym for me.
  16. Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback. I just picked up an M&P9 from D&T. Thanks a lot to Smith for selling it to me. Great shop that D&T. -Aaron
  17. Cool guys, thanks for the info I've got some stuff to think about, I'm headed out to guns and leather, an maybe D&T today to fondle all these guns, we'll see if I come back with a new toy/tool.
  18. Anyone have any experience with either? Impressions? Comparisons?? I'm thinking of getting one or the other for a home protection / range gun. Any advice or impressions would be greatly appreciated. -A
  19. Cool guys! Thanks a lot.
  20. So I wanted to know what carry ammo/defense ammo you guys stock in your 1911's 45acp of course. I know that each 1911 is a beautiful and unique snowflake and only likes to feed certain ammo, but what's working for you guys?? I just got my new Metro Arms 1911 and I want to load it up with some defensive ammo. -a

    Kel-Tec PF9

I love mine, punches the center out of the targets no sweat... AND I'm not that great of a shot. I shoot the Kel Tec better than my Springfield right now. It's been perfectly reliable, but it needs to be oiled, a lot. I went to the range, shot a couple hundred rounds through mine, went home didn't clean it because I was going to the range again in a few days, when I went it had some stovepipes... But if you keep it clean and oiled you'll have zero issues.
  22. Hey man I just did the exact same. Well done my friend. I picked mine up on Tuesday from my ffl.
  23. I EDC a Kel Tec PF9... could probably keep it pretty concealed... Not sure if it's worth the risk unless someone got disgruntled boxing up clothes and went on a warehouse rampage... They also couldn't really fire me, it'd be a matter of not hiring me again, but they've got me on hold most of the month of Dec too... Ehh who knows, I'll just keep it close.
  24. So riddle me this, in my situation... I work at a warehouse here in Nashville... I'm not an employee of Dillards but an independent contractor... On the way in, there's a no weapons sign, not too obviously posted, doesn't mention guns specifically... Do you think this counts?
  25. I was gonna say we should go shoot our Commander's together when we get them, but you're a helluva ways from Nashville...
