  1. That pic was taken on Prince of Whales Island in South East Alaska. I have a friend there that guides for steelhead, salmon and charters for ocean trips as well. It's about as cheap as your gonna get for an Alaska trip. I really want to go back, but I don't have the fundage.

  2. I fished the Green in Utah at the Flaming Gorge just below the dam. That is a awesome river, there were so many trout it was like fishing in a aquarium. I heard that there are four trout per linear foot of that streach of the river.

  3. When considering Tellico/Citico the first thing you have to know is that it is a stocked river. I say this because you may have cought your limit every day this week, but go back in a month and not see one single trout. It just depends on if they stocked it or not. If you go to Tellico and don't have any luck you can go over the mountain to Citico creek (I think the permits are all still the same) and see if they stocked there.

Most of the fishing pressure is on Sat. and Sun. so sometimes I like to go on Tues or Wed. when it is much less crowded and pick up the fish that were hooked and got off or were over looked all together.

My Father first took me to Citico/Tellico when I was 5 years old and I have been fishing there ever since. I have 30 years of advice I could give you, but that would take a book.:tough:

What kind of set up were you using? Hook size, line weight, sinkers, bait?

  4. I have a P22 and have about 15k rounds through it. It took some time to get it worked out and runnig good, but now when I shoot it I rarely have any malfunctions.

As far as ammo goes it likes Federal bulk or anything CCI best. As Bassoneer stated .22 is just dirty ammo and is going to gum up the works. To combat this I decided to try Militec-1... I followed the directions and it works great. Instead of having to clean it every 500 rounds I can get about 800 rounds out of it before I start having any malfunctions.

I really like this little pistol and am glad I bought it.

Oh, yeah, It's hard to go wrong with a Buckmark... a very accurate pistol, but a little pricey

Edit: I just remembered, a couple of months ago my Father-in-law was looking around in a old truck that I have in the backyard. That truck has been parked for at least 8 years... Anyway, he found a plastic container with about 500 rounds of Remington .22 that had been in the heat and cold for all that time. I took it to the range and shot it all in the P22 with not one malfunction.

  5. Because the technology isn't there yet. Nuclear and Hydro are still the best options ATM. Any crop we use is going to immediately and severely (in the negative) impact world food supply and prices. You think gas prices are an issue? Just wait. The folks in South America can already tell you about the price of tortilla's. Doesn't sound like a big deal for them, but you figure they make $1 - $5 a day and tortilla's are all they can afford at $2-3 a day.......... not good.

I agree with what you are saying here, Nuclear is the way to go IMO.

Most South Americans don't eat tortillas, not saying they don't use corn though. If we did start using corn and the prices rose very much I don't think it would last long because more people would start growing it and the supply would rise thus lowering the price again.

  6. Indian Boundary is really nice, but it has a $20 per night price tag.

Frozen Head is also great, just stay in the rustic camping area for a little more privacy.

While I was there a few weeks ago (CNF) I looked everywhere for any kind of "No Firearms" or "Firearms Prohibited" signs and didn't see any. When I was younger we used to hunt there, but I don't really know what the deal is now.

    Check out this thread.

  7. Something has got to give here. Businesses are already going overseas like rats off of a sinking ship and this "cap and trade" isn't going to help any. I just don't know what these people are thinking...aren't we taxed enough?

Seems that all these idiots are all for taxing the crap out of big business, but what the fools don't understand is that the business passes the cost down to the consumer (you, me and them.)

Well, I guess if it's for the children or to save the planet I'm for it.

  8. I agree with olddogy. I just got back from a nice four day weekend at Citico creek in Cherokee NF. From OR it's about 140 miles round trip. If you go there look for campsite #10, it's a great location and just up stream from a nice spring for your water supply.

  9. When I was growing up my Father used to take me camping/fishing at Citico creek in Cherokee National Forest. Since my Father has passed I thought this year it would be a great idea to spend the weekend camping there with my wife and 3 yo son. It was perfect.

After we got home today, and got our gear put away, I took my AR with a CMMG .22 conv. to the range and put a few hundred rounds through a empty propane tank.

  10. I don`t see the problem in helping poor people of Kenya but I do have a problem with the fact that most of that money always ends up in the hands of some corrupt king or govenment...regular people ussualy don`t see a penny of that money

    Db

    100% true.

  11. I have seen two people since I got my HCP and zero before.

The two that I saw were by accident as I wasn't really trying to spot anyone. One was a ankle rig and it showed when he sat down and crossed his other leg. The other was while I was sitting in a drug store waiting on a perscription. I just happened to be in the perfect position (sitting and to his right) when he swept his shirt back while replacing his wallet showing his 1911 IWB.

I think people see what they want to see. With PDA's and all kinds of do everything big phones strapped to peoples sides these days I think most non HCP holders just don't give it a second thought.
