  1. Well, try to recreate the issue, then you'll know.
  2. Well said. Also, I bet 99% of the people they surveyed have never been out of the country and if they have it was for no more than a week. Things are different when it's not vacation and life sets in.
  3. Sounds like I missed a fun match.
  4. I bet that didn't end well for him.
  5. I would like to see video of a IDPA/USPSA match shot with a quad.
  6. Didn't even get his hands out of his pockets lol
  7. Lead melts at 621.5°, zinc melts at 787.2°. I got four 5 gallon buckets of wheel weights that a friend had in his barn for 15 years. I started to sort them, but tired of that quickly, I decided to just throw them in the pot and do a slow melt while keeping an eye on the temp with my lead thermometer. I would never let the pot temp get over 700°. Out of the four buckets I only found one WW that was zinc. I'm not suggesting anyone do this, but it worked for me.
  8. I watch about the first 45 seconds and then stopped to look at the comments here to see if anything was going to happen. Glad I didn't watch all of Thelma and Louise.
  9. You really know this group well. :)
  10. http://youtu.be/_jyRR2cQuAk
  11. The thread title is misleading.... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wTDUuBWGtpU
  12. I killed one outside my back door the other day, only took one whack from my trusty Havaiana.
  13. I shot my 19 in CCP at ORSA in February, it was fun having to retrain my brain to think in 9 and 8 instead of 11 and 10.
  14. And that's why the Libs make it an issue.
  15. I've got FOs on all my Glocks, though they are just lowly 9mm, I can't see you having a problem. They do break and come out from time to time, none of mine have after thousands of rounds, but hear it does happen. They are easy enough to replace, just buy some spares and carry on. Edit to add: I use 10-8 sights and like them very much. http://www.10-8performance.com/categories/Sights/
  16. Now you sound like my wife.
  17. Shot placement reigns supreme. Your stepson got very lucky. Next time he decides to scare them off, he needs to do it with a rifle in hand.
  18. They did that at the VA state match a few years ago, I don't remember why, once the squad was hot you had to stay in a roped off area and weren't allowed to leave. Didn't bother me at the time, all firearms remained holstered, shooters didn't paste at that match so that wasn't an issue.
  19. Wow... He paid too much for that shotgun.
  20. That's what I did Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, as soon as the rain slowed to a sprinkle they showed up. Also, I noticed that they're not near as vocal in the rain, or maybe I just couldn't hear them.
  21. If they wrote perfect bills in the first place we wouldn't have to reelect and beg them to go back and fix it. Like a lot of other professions, it's a never ending cycle to keep them in office.
  22. This bird came in to an Avian-x hen decoy that my brother bought, I really like it a lot. My brother shot this bird this morning, again since it was raining we set up in the blind and just called some and waited. Since I killed a tom yesterday he had first shot today. He shot, the bird dropped and then got back up and took off. It was on after that, I'm not sure who fired the fatal pellet, but my brother is getting the credit. I estimate this bird cost us about $10.50.
  23. My hunt this morning read like a IDPA stage discription. Start standing in blind hands relaxed at side with loaded shotgun on the ground. At the buzzer flip the blind to the front, pick up shotgun and engage running turkey. It was raining so I set up my blind and some decoys in the edge of a field. I had seen five hens and one small tom at about 10:00 and then nothing else. At 12:30 I decided it was time to call it a day, I did one final scan and got ready to get out. My blind was soaked and I had backed it up against some briars so I decided to just flip it forward instead of unzipping it and wiggling out the back. I laid my shotgun down and flipped, I looked to my right and there stood a tom at about 30 yards. He turned and started to run away, I scooped up my 835 and rolled him up at 40 yards. It was a very cool experience. You can see my blind in this pic (top left) and our game can on the gate. lol
  24. I'm just pulling this out of my butt at 0530 so..... Seems to me that somewhere in the 80's or 90's they went from being called Peace/Police Officer to LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER. With that change in terminology a lot of attitudes, citizen and officer, started to change. When you pay people to enforce, that's what they do.
  25. "When asked if he knew where he was, Johnson said he thought he was in Kentucky." They need to just find a tree and hang him!
