  1. I thought all the money we spend on hunting and fishing licenses, as well as boat registration funded ALL TWRA operations.
  2. I collect Smith & Wessons. I carry a fugly Ruger LCR .38.   At 13 oz, it rides light in an IWB holster and the double action rolls over nice and smooth. I like the +P rating too, as that's my carry ammo.   But a 442 is sweet too and definitely beats the Ruger in the beauty contest.  :pleased:   (As far as the new locks, I don't like them, but I've got a friend who competes with a post lock and has fired hundreds of rounds through it with no hiccups.)
  3.   I think King learned that you don't bring a five shot gun to a six gun match!  :pleased:
  4. Oh yeah ... what role models we have for our kids today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RqMflGzRjY   I miss those cowboy western Saturdays.
  5. Shot shells are great entertainment for shooting "wood" bees (look like bumblebees) when they're buzzing the clover in spring. Thinking it should be an Olympic sport of some sort!
  6. FYI, Houston's in Mt Juliet no longer processes deer, but Lebanon Meat Locker in Lebanon on Market St does. I think they still may be a Hunter for the Hungry donation point also.     Oops, sorry Greg, I see you beat me to posting Lebanon Meat Locker
  7. Too bad he didn't have video when we shot again at strong hand 7 yrds. We both made clean sweeps but his "end" popper fell a nano second before mine.   Of course I taught Kenneth everything he knows ... but then he went and added that "speed" thing and wrecked any chance of poppa ever catching him again  :yuck:
  8. It was a fun match, hope you guys do that again.   I'd love to try it with .22 pistols.
  9.   Sure got to love a humble (and gracious) shooter  :pleased:
  10. Interesting topic, looks like iron sighters will go the way of fly fishermen and recurve/longbow shooters ... damn elitists!
  11. Concealment cover required Joe?
  12. Anyone up from that way know if Green River Gun Club is still shooting an IDPA match this Sat, 10/24?
  13. I like my Walther PPK .380 ... reliable and accurate. It's thin, so works in an IWB holster well, but a bit heavy, though the weight helps for better fire control.
  14. I cannot find final posted scores, not even on the IDPA site or practicescores. Anybody have a link?
  15. Good luck to those TGO members heading to Tulsa, OK this week to shoot the World Championship. The home boys will be rooting for ya!  :woohoo:   Post if you're going. I know there's at least a half dozen making the trip, including my son, Kenneth, aka Itchytriggerfinger.
  16. The Squad Chic was awesome ... many thanks to her from this tribal elder of our group for taking care of score cards that normally just confuse me.  :pleased:
  17. Thank you ... good shoot yesterday at Dickson, enjoyed it.
  18.   That's my boy! I taught him everything he knows ... well ... maybe he's picked up a few other tricks on his own ... like speed!
  19. I fill my calendar out at the beginning of the year and then follow up on it month by month. It was posted early spring no doubt. I only shot steel challenge once, and I liked it. Would like to try it again.
  20. Has the steel challenge on the 23rd been cancelled?
  21. I shot 55-60 for many years, until I had shoulder surgery. I now shoot a 45 lb compound, and still kill deer no problem. My average shot over all these years is still around 20 yards. Set up right, and you'll whack 'em, that's the challenge, and fun, of bowhunting.
  22. My younger brother has dad's old .35 336C with the half magazine tube, nice walnut ... cool gun. Ammo seems hard to find though. Dad killed his deer every year with this rifle, the only rifle he ever owned and did it since the early sixties when he bought it.   Seems nowadays, me included, we feel we need at least three of four deer rifles. It was just a different generation back then on needs and wants.  :pleased:
  23.   Mark, you'd prefer seersucker jackets only per chance? Don't forget my rattlesnake belt.   :pleased:
  24. Proud poppa here on Kenneth's bump to EXPERT.
