1. Just left. Several dealers with average prices. A few people walking around with guns. Pretty small show.
2. This^^^ He easily beats the Outpost. I've never seen the Outpost have good prices on anything.
3. Got there about 11:00am and it was extremely crowded. Waited 15-20 minutes to get in. Got some powder and primers from Davis's booth and a coupke other things. Pretty good show except for the crowd.
4. I was at the last one in Murfreesboro a couple months ago and it had tons of tables and was extremely crowded.
5.
You migh also check Kempf Gun Shop. I used to buy a fair bit from them when I was local.
I ordered a Lee Classic Turret Press Kit from them a year or so ago and am very happy with it. I also suggest to OP check them out if he hasn't found anything yet. The kit comes with everything one would need minus a scale and manuals. Even includes your choice of dies for one caliber. $209 https://kempfgunshop.com//index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=630&category_id=190&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=41&vmcchk=1&Itemid=41
6.
Take a micrometer with you and measure anything you want to buy. THe incompetence in the commercial cast bullet world is staggering. Manufacturers produce a .355 cast lead bullet and then people wonder why they suck. That's because a 9mm doesn't use a .355 cast bullet normally. It takes at least .356 up to .357 to seal the bore, maintain pressure and prevent gas cutting.
Thanks for the reply. I have a micrometer and will do just that. I have no experience with cast lead bullets but want to try them. But I dont want to end up with bad performing rounds either.
7. I was at a gun show in Shelbyville today and a company called Falcon Bullets were selling cast bullets. I plan on loading 9mm soon and am wondering if anyone knows anything about this company? Anyone have any experience with cast lead in a CZ 75B and Smith 5906?
8. There is no waiting period in Tennessee except for the few minutes it takes for your background check to come back. Pick the gun you want, fill out the form and if your background check comes back clean take it home. If it is a private seller you won't have to fill anything out. Hand them money, they hand you gun. What was said above my post is a very smart idea. Bring a knowledgeable person with you if you can. Gun shows are notorious for price gouging. Having a knowledgeable person with you will keep you from potentially over paying or buying a gun not up to par.
9. My CZ 75B without a doubt. I dont much care for 1911s.
10. PSA is currently running a 10% sell on pretty much everything. Brings the price of the 2022 to $387.
11. Can't use a factory Glock 9mm barrel to do it. Has a smaller outside diameter. Have to use a conversion barrel such as Lonewolf, KKM, etc. Some say for ultimate reliability switch to a 9mm extractor and guide rod system as well. Most I'd say just switch barrels and mags.
12. Anyone know how many tables there will be?
13. I recently quit from Wal-Mart to go back to school. At my store, we got ammo at least every 2 weeks. Sometimes weekly. It was generally 80% shotgun shells, 15% .22lr, then a mix of other calibers. But when we did get it, it would set in a buggy in front of the gun room in the back for a couple days in till someone put it up. Our gun room is packed with ammo, but I don't know how often they move it to the shelf.
14. Wal-Mart has had that for a while now. Tullahoma and Winchester have several cases of it.
15. I check the CZ Custom shop almost daily and have recently emailed them. They too are out of stock on most CZs. Especially the plain CZ 75B in polycoat, nickel, or stainless.
16. August 4th the "Great Southern Gun Show" will be at the Calsonic arena in Shelbyville. Has anyone ever been to this show before? I'd like to know if it's any good or not. It's also a hunting and fishing expo, I'm wondering if the gun show part is pretty large or an afterthought.
17. I plan on purchasing one in the next 2-3 weeks. My preference is the CZ 75B 9mm satin nickel. But im not opposed to a plain black model. Also may be interested in the SP-01. I'm hoping to pick one up the day I decide to purchase one and not have to wait. There is a gun show in Shelbyville at the Calsonic Arena August 4th and 5th. Im thinking of holding off till then and see what is available there.
18. Anyone know any gun stores that have or can get an CZs? I checked with Tolivers and Chi Rho today and neither one of them can get them at this time. The Outpost said they could, just want to see if anyone else can.
19. My family and I buy our guns pretty much exclusively from Tollivers in Manchester. Great prices, eager to help, and they dont act like you are bugging them being there. Great bunch of guys. I live very close to Hero Gear and wont even go in there. The last few times I have they paid no attention and not once asked if I wanted to see anything. I also went there to ask about having night sites installed and they said they would but acted like it was a hindrance. I went to Chi Rho and had him install my sites. Great guy at Chi Rho, very friendly and eager to help also. Prices on the high side and very little inventory. But I was there very soon after the opening. Need to check it out again.
20. I am in the Tullahoma area and was wondering if you all knew of places that had primers and powder for reloading .40sw local. I would rather buy it local than pay haz-mat charges. Thanks
21. I received my HCP today, 16 days from time of finger printing. I know some has got theirs quicker, but I thought mine came pretty fast. Just letting everyone know who might be wandering how long it might take.
22. Just so everyone knows, I emailed them today and got an extremely fast response. They are sending me a replacement kydex right out. Very good company and I highly recommend them!
23. Here ya go. White Hat Holsters
24. Hey everybody! I recently just posted my first range review and figured I would post up a holster review. Let me know what you all think and if you got any questions. Review: I went on the search for a holster like most people do. I was leaning heavenly towards the Crossbreed Super Tuck. But I have two pistols and didnt want to give $160 for two holsters. I stumbled upon White Hat Holsters. The holster is horsehide and really nice quality. It was $59.99 and only took around two weeks to arrive. Much better than the wait required with many other holster makers. The best part is that you can buy different kydexes for each of your pistols at just $20 a piece. Much cheaper than buying more than one holster. I ordered mine for my Glock 23 and a kydex for my Sig sp2022. The Glock fits perfectly. The only downside is the Sig fit. The gun goes it perfect but the hump for the front site is in the wrong place, making it impossible to get the pistol out without a lot of twisting. Other than that it is an extremely nice holster, well worth the money.
25. Hey everybody. I turned 21 a couple weeks ago and received a Glock 23 g4 from my Dad and a Sig sp2022 from my fiancee's step Dad. I was able to take them out to the range for the first time today. This is my first range report so bare with me lol. Today was actually my first full time at the range other than my HCP class. I am pretty new to handguns so I didnt shoot tight groups or anything. But I will tell you my experience with the pistols. Glock 23 g4: This Glock was bought used but looks as if it has never been fired. I put over 200 rounds through it today with no malfunctions of any kind. I was shooting Privi Partizan 180g .40sw ammunition. Every round fed and extracted perfectly. The gun was much more accurate than I am at this time. It has the 0-3 extractor if anyone is interested due to some of the gen 4 problems. As I said earlier, I am a relatively new shooter and have absolutely no problems with the recoil of the .40sw round. In fact, this gun had no more felt recoil than my Dad's S&W 5906 9mm. My Dad's friend, who had never shot a pistol before today had no problems with the recoil either. It is my favorite pistol and will be my carry pistol. Sig SP2022: My other pistol is a Sig SP2022 also in .40sw. This gun was NIB. I shot the same ammo as the Glock. My Fiancee was the first to shoot this pistol. When she shot, every round of the first mag jammed or stove piped. I shot it and it was perfect. I told her she might be limp wristing, she adjusted her grip and it worked perfectly. 200 some rounds letter and absolutely no more malfunctions of any kind. The gun has a good feel to it in my hand, although I prefer the feel of the Glock. It is also noticeably heavier than the Glock (6 ounces or so I believe). The DA pull was nice and the SA pull was exceptional. I honestly cant think of any other brand new $400 gun that could be better than this. There is my first range review. I would be happy to answer any questions I can. Thanks for reading! Here are some pics.
