Food recommendations - Lambert's Cafe in Foley.(right in front of the outlet malls) and the Shrimp Basket. I vacationed in Gulf Shores with my family till I was 23, and made numerous day trips when I lived in MS. Those were two places I always ate. One lunch one dinner. Have fun, I am going back for the first in 6 years in July.

How ya gonna build your TGO billet lower?
MississippiBoy replied to Caster's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Sevier indoor range does transfers I believe and they are a sponsor here. They are in Sevierville. -
I work 4 ten hour days so Fridays is "Daddy-Daughter Day" for me and my 11 month old. I got stopped one time by someone because of something and i pointed out that I actually teach parenting skills and coordinate with the department of children services as a therapist. They shut up pretty quickly. I have thought about open carrying just to see if someone would say something to me about that.

MississippiBoy replied to a topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
You could also check with Sevier Indoor range. They may have the part and I believe the still support TGO. Also someone nice guys to deal with. They are in Sevierville. -
Gun Safes in the Knoxville Area
MississippiBoy replied to nightowl556's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
There is an outlet store for one of the major brands on John Sevier. I think it is a Champion store. I think the address is actually Trevor Lane, but there is a sign on John Sevier near Thorngrove Pike. -
With recoil a problem you may want to look at 20 guage, and also I would encourage a look at semi-autos. You can find some for the $400-$500 range.

Have any of you guys adopted a child in TN?
MississippiBoy replied to maroonandwhite's topic in General Chat
Well I would worry more about them finding out that you like MSU then about the firearms.... Sorry a little jab from an Ole Miss fan. I see some foster and adopted children in counseling, and would be glad to answer any questions you might have. Just shoot me a PM. -

Are you going through a DCS adoption or not???? -
I am going to see if I can find one for my wife to feel and check out. Would be a fun rabbit or squirrel gun too.
-
I like the feel of the Stoegers but haven't seen a 20 gauge semi or one with a short enough LOP for my wife.
-
I like the 1100s but have not been able to find one used.

I am looking for a cheap 20 guage semi-auto for my wife. She would like to learn to shoot skeet, but I don't want to buy a Benelli (unless a really good deal). I may keep it for a future gun for my daughter as well. Also my wife is 5'2" so a youth model may be needed. Anyway, I have read about the Weatherby SA and the Mossberg SA, but want some other thoughts. Again this will probably be just a fun gun. I have an 870 Wingmaster in 20 and 12, plus a Model 12 in 12 and 16 so I have some good hunting guns. Thanks.

On the safety cans drill a hole and put a valve stem on the back so you can let air out. That stops the 'gulping'.

Suicidal activity 3 minutes from my house
MississippiBoy replied to rugerla1's topic in General Chat
Wow..... As I have said in other threads I am a therapist in a mental health clinic. I have seen people making over $100,000 a year coming in due to suicidal ideation. They did not deserve to have thier life cut short due to a rough time period. This doesn't only affect the poor, but every class. 99% of the people who attempt suicide and then get treatment - IMPROVE! -
Suicidal activity 3 minutes from my house
MississippiBoy replied to rugerla1's topic in General Chat
Suicidal ideation is ( and should be) viewed as a symptom of a mental disorder. If something happened to me that caused a mental or psychological breakdown I would want people to intervene to protect me. -
It sounds like he bought a pistol, and was going to return to finalize the purchase of the rifle. So there were going to be two separate 4473 and two background checks, because it was two purchases on two separate days.

You may have better luck out toward the Alcoa area... Depending on traffic you can make West Knox in 25the minutes.

Star is a pretty area. I am from a little south of there originally.

Cut Birdshot shells = Slug?
MississippiBoy replied to MiddTennTaco's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I put one in a side by side shooting skeet one time. My friend who was wanting to shoot it didn't find it funny, but he actually nicked the clay with it. Anyway they work okay for some stuff. Armadillos were a favorite target back in MS. -
Downtown grill and Brewery gets another vote from me. It isn't that bad of a walk to the arena, but that cab ride is going to pinch especially going back.

I have a browning A-bolt II Medallion that shoots awesome. It is a 30-06 too.

Some of the shorter barrel shotguns do great and that looks like it should be good for what you are wanting. I still like my 28" barrel but it is a work out to carry it. The main thing is to take your time and find a shell that shoots well in it.

I know they passed some changes to the procedures. Does anyone have what was actually changed? They go into effect for turkey season.
-
Instead of circles draw a 2"x8" inch rectangle to represent the head and neck... That is a better representation of actual pattern for turkey hunting. Also with an extra full choke try some #5. The smaller pellets don't deform as bad with the tighter choke. May or may not improve the pattern. Just for info. I shoot a 28" barrel on an 870 pump. I use 3" remington nitro #5. They shot harder and patterned better than any of the other 10 types I tried. Pick up a couple of phone books and compare penetration.
