6:00 Open Carry at Eastland Kroger
zapfbroad replied to EastHipster's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
i'll just say his whole plan for the day was probably seven times stupid besides. i would not be terribly surprised if he may not be an hcp holder at the eastland kroger. that's about the spot i had a tec-9 pulled on me back in '03 when i worked the east side. -
hey doc do you have any extra lengths of rope or netting in your home? well I ask because those are the primary instruments of autoerotic asphyxiation and being a upper middle class caucasian male over 40 you're at a statistically greater risk of suffering death from those items than me? did you want me to ask the nurse about rescheduling??

This disgusts me. Long before the old woman got involved or the seizures started I would have waded in with no knowledge of the back story aside from what I could see at the time and proceeded to BEAT the hell out of the hoodrats and demonstrate to them quickly what an asswhoopin looks like and it doesn't involved hair pulling. I hate girl fights. Two on one? I try to avoid places that altercations "normally" occur but obviously it can happen anywhere. It's not McDonalds fault, it's every man who stood there's fault. What if that had been their sister in some other state? How would they feel if they were the family that has to help take care of her now. Sometimes it's just a matter of principle. I had a homeless, drunk guy come into my store bout 5 years back and he spit on an older woman that hadn't even noticed him approaching. We discussed it further outside...

Probably for the M1 carbine. Possibly corrosive cartridges. People pick this up in yard sales, flea markets periodically. I don't know that it has any worth except to collectors. Good luck. I wouldn't shoot it if I had something to shoot it with. via EPIC4G SRF1.1.0 by Android Creative Syndicate

mac has a "walled garden" approach to building the platform. if properly tweaked windows can outperform as the design allows the user to spec up processes for faster threading. maintaining that performance is not a novice's job. if you're toolin around the internet and the like and you've got the money buy a mac and have fun. windows will degrade faster without maintenance than mac because you are permitted to more directly impact core ops as an enduser with a windows pc. if you've got skills go to a unix platform and get erw33t with it above everybody. there's a reason so many commercial servers are on unix based os with a percentage on windows and the smallest on mac. speed, performance, control, reliability for uptime. my old apache box was up nearly 7 years before a crash? what's a mac?

buy it.. put a box of ammo downrange and if you hate it you can probably sell it back for $80 and lose $20 + $15 for ammo. it would be like goin to a range out of town and rentin it and payin fee for range use, 2 targets, box of ammo. either way you'll know if you like it and would ever do it again for 30-40 bucks loss. i've blown way more than that just to find out i'll never go to a restaurant again ya know

In my first taekwondo tournament at age 6 I kicked a girl in the stomach and knocked the wind out of her and she vomited on the mat. It was a legal kick & I had them thunderthighs of power lol. I was told to wait on the side of the mat and Everyone was looking at me like I was spawn of satan. Confused, I asked my mom.. 'I'm supposed to beat her right'?? I have chivalry and borderline on chauvinistic regarding females *sometimes*. My ex girlfriend is an attractive amateur 5'5" 130lb mma/mu thai fighter.. I hold no illusions that she could whoop my butt without breaking a good sweat while appearing to be a wholesome, sweet, innocent, Helpless, Harmless petite blond of appreciable dimensions. Last week I had some random woman show up at my door around 3PM on a weekday waving some raggedy papers mumbling something about magazines, acne riddled face, shoelaces untied on her sneakers, top button of her jeans undone, classic picture of a woman on the wrong side of a meth habit. I gave her the same flat stare I give approaching street thugs. It conveys I am more willing than you to fight to the death, go find some sheep. Told her to leave the property immediately. 10 minutes later I see her in a raggedy car with what appeared to be two white guys and a mexican guy, driving down the road. We have alot of kids in this neighborhood, seems like once a week one of them is knocking on my door with a handout for cookie dough, magazines, candy bars, etc. I am not shy about answering the door with my gun on my hip. It's not advertising.. it's deterrence. When I see a stranger out there at that time of day I find out what they're about because there's too many kids walking around and unfortunately too many of these kids don't seem to have enough street savvy about dealing with strangers. 3 girls at the door????? Think Kill Bill & grab your spare mag too!

I've tried two different kinds of electronic cigarettes..those early expensive gamucci and some more recent cheap no name to remember piece from the gas station that was $9.99 for 300-400 puffs available in reg/menthol. I've smoked for 15 years bout a pack a day. Id love to quit. The last 3 years has been taking more of a toll on my endurance than ever as I age. I used to be a martial artist/swimmer so I still have a good lung endurance but its definitely affected. the ecig's I've tried give me the same throat irritation as nicotine gum/lozenges does. The patches were ineffective besides elevating my blood pressure & I don't believe in prescription medication. I bought one of these ecigs a few weeks back..tried it a couple hours and gave up. I think I'll give it another go today since you've reminded me..I'll let you know how it works out. I've had terrible luck with every cessation program I've tried..I get terribly agitated & irritable without cigarettes. Friends & coworkers have encouraged me to start back up lol. My ex smoker buddy says I just need to lock myself away for like 3-4 days to kick it good but who has that kinda time. via EPIC4G SRF1.1.0 by Android Creative Syndicate

seriously though... all that should have been covered round bout the time of high school when buddies have cars and parties start to feature these undesirable elements of nefarious nature and less in the way of scary movies and board games. instill a strong foundation, explain repeatedly the consequences repeatedly and repeatedly. so when temptation strikes .... that wiggling and insistent portion of the conscience protester in the back of his or her brain will so "hey buddy this is no good for you and you know better and you know you gotta live with the results of these actions nevermind what these people think of you right now"... and hope for the best cause he's legal now. all that bein said.. better now to *mildly* experiment and suffer a temporary setback than when he's got a job/wife/kids/mortgage on the line and suffers a decade+ setback to living his life the way he wants

What do you do on Sept 11th in rememberance?
zapfbroad replied to Will Carry's topic in General Chat
Sept. 11, 2011 I had the day off work and no plans besides an itch to get out of the house in this beautiful weather. I've been so sick of being holed up in the house with the curtains drawn for the blistering heat, scorching light rays. Welcome fall, come sooner, stay away rain, love you snow, if I don't have to drive around these people. So being ideal conditions for it, I drove for a few hours in the country today. Saw the firetruck with the US flag flying in Kingston Springs, Dickson, & Ashland City, these pleased me to see, this was honest. Drivin wherever I want with no communist checkpoint inspections of papers, carrying my guns the whole time, along beautiful rural areas of TN appreciating what our freedom means. It's a constant that we become accustomed to and become complacent in our remembrance of all that has happened to allow us the freedom to exercise our God given rights as Acknowledged by the constitution, not granted by. I have to admit, though I have many family members who were in the service.. I feel like September 11th actually provides more personal resonance to me than Memorial Day or the Fourth of July at this point, though I take time for observance, perhaps owin to the fact I missed out on the civil & revolutionary wars but this occurred in our lifetime. We know firsthand people that died or people that lost loved ones in the bombings or in the war since. #1 & #2 al qaeda dead. Good. That will allow some people closure for the ones that they personally lost. Is it enough for the country itself? I felt myself to be in a very reflective somber mood all day, recalling the aftermath of 10 years ago and where we are today in relation to what has occurred along the way. Some reactive goals were accomplished but I remain worried about what may lay ahead. Most days I feel like 'relatively' we aren't any worse off today than we were 5-10-15 years ago.. I feel like I'm just more cognizant of the state of the union as it were. I was worried about Y2K and expected a far more significant SHTF scenario than ever materialized aside from Betty Thomason being late for work at the BiRite in Spokane because her alarm clock just kept blinking 01:01 all day. There has been an amazing coalition of harmonious achievement inspired from the collective attack this country suffered. And every year leading up to this Special Commemorative 10 yr anniversary in which everyone is forcibly reminded of events there has been a gradual erosion of appreciation for the sacrifice of those who went to battle for this country's defense. I'm trying to remain detached in my quick to judge fashion regarding the outpouring of companies and organizations that are observing ceremonies. It's like the Pink to support breast cancer awareness causes.. my pessimistic, distrustful nature admits that sometimes I view these companies as pandering and just doing p.r. My wife was seriously distraught over the news articles about how first responders weren't being allowed onsite for the ceremonies due to space constraints. WhoTF else besides family members of those lost should be there?? I felt it better not to further anger my tender spiritbeast and elected not to read the article and hope blindly it wasn't true, though not with any great avarice.. see above distrustful nature divulgence. As I was saying, I drove for 2-3 hours and lo & behold ended up at a gun range.. this was mid afternoon post church nap for many people and the titans were still preparing to lose so the range only had a smattering of people present. I sent a couple of hundred empty casings to the bottom of the range collection bucket and mosied on my way. Well lo and behold I ended up at the academy sports parking lot and figured I might as well just go look at their handguns seeing as how I was there already and & don't live near one and the ol dodge was in Park now what do ya know. Roamed around for a bit and looked at what all they had but I think my next handgun purchase will actually be a small 9 or .380 for my wife to carry so she should be there to see if she likes it and what not. So then I was looking at their ammo prices which happen to be under the shotgun/rifle selection and well what do you know I'm over there lookin and askin after holding this one there *above* the .40 cal ammo 2nd one back yes sir thank you. So admittedly, I've wanted a rifle for awhile. I want to hunt this fall/winter. I'd like to coyote hunt but might think about deer hunting when I become more proficient with a rifle. Yup so I went ahead and bought a remington 770 .30-06 with bushnell scope. I was considering several other models/calibers but hey it was on sale. So with a box of ammo and a nice well padded rugged camo carryin case I'm out the door with $375 less to my name. So it may not be the greatest, prettiest, most effective, heck it could blow up some people will say. Oh well, it's another gun to have for fun, food or zombies depending on which page of this choose your own destiny book we're heading towards. Marlin, Savage, Stevens, Maverick, Mossberg, etc.. that's great! I got what I got, I won't turn it in I may get another of some other so don't bash my choice. The point is they all go bang bang makey the things dead from a distance. Soon hopefully I'll get out to a range and see if I want to use it much. The important part for me was just gettin my dang foot in the door and quit dithering about it. I've been wanting to go hunting for 3-4 years now but have been using the whole not having a rifle as an excuse. Hopefully, now I can get out there, miss a few coyotes and deers and realize what kind of rifle I need for My needs. So in short...hahaha It was a good couple hours listenin to country noise before I ended up at the firin range. Then ended up buyin my first rifle on this the Sept. 11, 2011
