  2. So I was at one of my fishin holes on the Harpeth the other day.. it was in the high 80s & sunnier than all get out so I'm wearin some shorts and a tank top. This is an isolated little spot with the occassional bunch showin up to put in kayaks or dangle a pole but kinda secluded otherwise. I always carry here but given the conditions I'll sometimes OWB open carry given the sunlight. Husband & wife came along to fish nearby & exchanged a couple o pleasantries before we resumed our silence. No good hits this day just a little 7in red eye & i'd been out in this sun for a few minutes too many(as my new tan line affirms) so I was packin up & wished them luck. "Do they say anythin to u bout havin ur pistol here?" " I've got a permit but I always leave mine at home when we come up here." Well! I was happy to tell the tale & let him know the truth of the matter right then! I told him how i'd talked to the ranger man that comes by & that on account of the state bein in the poorhouse & all they weren't goin to pay to change those signs that say no weapons..this bein a state park & not metro we were a ok to carry. Id normaly have a shirt over it but sweatin like I was & there not bein anyone else around I hadn't bothered. He was like 'hael ima start bringin mine.. covered ya know?'. Glad to hear that... its a good spot but occassionally kids come along drinkin & actin dumb... can't be too safe.. a nice guy that was there last week took his revolver off from his undershirt iwb & put it in his tacklebox so he could wade out & get that fancy pants high dollar lure that got caught on a submerged branch..I'm sure others carry since its nigh on cheatham co doorstep. Add another now... Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  3. Been watching Jericho(post apocalyptic) & Sons of Anarchy & river monsters but still craving. Reading, figure all the rest of the time I'll fish until october Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Regarding right handed shooting I'm probably 10-15% less accurate than left handed but I can write with either hand. It's a right handed world..I didn't even know they had left handed scissors until I was almost twenty & they feel too awkward to me now. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  5. So I'm left handed (they stopped beating that out of people apparently) and left eye dominant. Though the real question is applicable to righties too.... while looking for IWB holsters (no recommendations necessary, have plenty) I've realized a lot of people carry on their backside differently. I carry between 7-8 o'clock depending on placement of belt loops in different pants. So 4-5 o'clock for rightside. A lot of people I've seen will carry with the bottom of the magazine facing their shooting hand and this seems dangerous to me. I carry with my barrel paralell to my leg and my magazine across the back. I did ask one employee of a gunstore I saw wearing like this if he realized he was having to draw across several vital organs & he seemed unconcerned. It requires a different muscle group to draw and clear the body then curve to arc & bring to target. It seems like a dangerous extra step when a arm twist like that can be stopped be with minimal force by an assailant compared to the way I'm doin this? Once I clear the holster I only have to swing up & out ad raise my arm to be on target as opposed to drawing an L across my body. Am I thinking this through too much or does anyone agree with me? 6. wow that's an eye opener. if this is how they conduct themselves for voting, which should ultimately be the most important aspect of the job (casting the vote as the representative for their respective districts), then what could be More pressing that they don't show up? it's like finding out after sedation the hygienist performed the root canal. or having the stenographer handling objections from a defense attorney. I hope this doesn't simply end here but I fear it will. I don't foresee Haslam or Anyone else being able to reign in this behavior. Likely it will fade from most people's memory come election time too...
  7. That's unfortunate for those 30 kids and the 11 women. It is a shame 11 women laid down for his b.s., multiple times no less.
  8. Crossbreed holster type is great. I have no complaints yet. the offbrands may be decent due to similar design type but just not as durable I don't know. I would recommend the crossbreed & say it's worth the money.

  10. WoW i'm pretty sure I just got mind-raped.. this could only be worse if he actually administered ccw permits instruction classes in florida. Just wOw. And damn. Cause uhm yeah wow. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  11. I don't see any debate starting from this..had it been a homicide with the shooter being an hcp holder.. maybe some stirring sure. Ranger friend told me about being called out to Hidden Lake boat launch area where a guy committed suicide with a handgun two weeks ago. MNPD was 1st respond but I haven't seen anything stirring up about that. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2

  13. Mine took nearly 4 weeks to get but I love it. It's super comfy for driving for me. I don't have any concern about retention with it. The difference compared to my single clip iwb(had so long I don't know what brand anymore) is like night & day on comfort. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  14. I thought the movie was interesting though I didn't see it until I had already read the book which of course was better Imho. I've always like costner in Most of his roles. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  15. Last year I did some significant reevaluation of my life goals, especially in regards to my work/life balance. For the first time in 8+ years I've quit working 70-100 hours a week(35 last week). So I didn't get to do any hunting this winter.. mainly lack of real estate in Davidson co., knowing people to go out with or where to go. But in March I bought a fishin license and rod/reel for the first time in 15+ years. Been hitting the water like a junkie (sometimes before I go into work at 9a). My wife kinda thinks I'm crazy I'm sure. Fortunately, she likes to fish with me occassionally (just not wakin up early to do it). I'm looking forward to workin alot of the banks of the harpeth and wherever else I can stand off the cumberland until it get's too cold(I was out in that rain yesterday(well under some trees)). Then I'm not taking no for an answer this winter to go huntin!! Yeah I've had to trade off some good chunk of income, but uhm I don't remember doing anything in my early 20s but working like a pyramid building slave.. and that company probably can't remember my name so....
  16. bout another 12 weeks till 4 years runnin...
  17. This situation sucks all around. It sounds like u have just one or two guns. Rather than disassembling you might consider a safe deposit box or small storage unit. Definitely move. Avoid evictions..that stays on ur credit for 7yrs and screws up plenty of things. Its kinda like employers rights to dictate terms unfortunately. Most leasing companies have some asinine policies. I've always wondered what I would do if I was in that situation. It's like suddenly moving to NYC sent via EPIC4G SyndicateRomFrozen 1.2

  24. Agree with PapaB. We took to the international stage because we had adopted an isolationalist doctrine and in our absence multiple dictators arose with powerful regimes with ideas of expansion and world domination. History repeats itself. Unfortunately, as the threats perceived became more aggragate and less focused people became disenfranchised with 'the war movement' and fatigued by attention..enter isolationists hippy movement a la 1960/70s... thus leading again to temp isolationists until noriega/che guevarra/shahs of iran etc..re-enter the world stage.. anytime we pull back from internationalism things crop up. I agree we unfavorably bear too much of the burden in costs and troop deployment. I don't believe the current structure of U.N. involvement & oversight nor our widespread deployment is necessary. Sure 40 years ago it was an asset. As technology has evolved we can assess and react remotely and far more rapidly than ever previously. We need a handful of strategic launch zones and significant personnel withdrawal to remain involved. The U.S. is the great enabler of the world with drunken uncle U.N. encouraging along. We should adapt to the times and reinvest our nation's wealth within otherwise we have a failing business model. If your roof is leaking and your foundations are crumbling maybe you shouldn't spend so much time/money planting hydrangeas at the elementary school on the weekend. I think we should try to maintain the most elite military in the world however I don't think we should view possession of such to mean that we have the responsibility to intervene in situations where we aren't needed. Just as a strong patriarch on a farm has to make hard decisions about the level of aide to offer neighboring farms in times of hardship with the interest of family first regardless of whether there are sympathizers who would deplete their own stores and let their own fields go fallow to help others. Our government's first and primary responsibility is to our freedom At home, our security At home, our essential needs At home. This country was colonized because of its rich resources. Many of which are still untapped. We have the means. sent via EPIC4G SyndicateRomFrozen 1.2
  25. "These are not the droids you are looking for.." If it can't be said in this thread I may not get to squeeze it in this year. Go to the store with your wife and let her play with the different live demo phones in person. They'll both do what you're looking for but the methodology is different between android & apple. For a first smart phone either will likely fulfill your needs. Unless you're going to spend a fair amount of time learning how to root/maintain a droid(which for a novice is statistically risky with a high brick rate) the iphone will give u higher performance out of the box. Unless you have specific applications for that you will probably just never realize the performance difference though. Worse case upgrade in 2 years to the latest hottest shiniest thinnest new joint. Have fun in the meantime but be sure u fully understand the data plan rate structure so u don't get screwed for overages. My wife uses twice as much data as me lookin at cute puppies and babies on facebook hah. sent via EPIC4G SyndicateRomFrozen 1.2
