  1. I would think that all would be ok if you have them locked up while you are not in direct possession. Sure, you could tell them that you are a HCP holder, but given that you do not have to tell them that you take advantage of your other rights like free speech I do not see the purpose.
  2. Hmmm... I am now thinking about buying a nail gun.... LOL Yeah, I will also go that day and buy something.
  3. I think we all had that screen saver at one time back then. lol
  4. I thought it was kind of funny. It could not happen to me though, even though I have a bayo for my Mosin. Why could it not happen to me? I would never spend $3000 on a TV.
  5. If someone were to go at you in public chances are they do not know you. You may be able to secure the situation and/or detain the individual via a verbal or visual warning that you are armed. The situation can be ended with no loose ends. If someone breaks into your home and you detain them with a weapon and have them arrested you give them the opportunity to stew it over in the pokey. There they can harbor they ideas that you are responsible for them being there. This opens the possibility that they may decide to go for round 2 when they get out. They know where you live. If in a public setting my intention would be to secure the situation. In my own home my intention would necessitate the need for Stanley Steamer to clean up the mess... I freely admit that I place a higher priority on the lives of myself and my family than I do on a criminal.
  6. Yeah, I once had a Honda that ran for years without synthetic oil. I just changed the oil and plugs once a year, kept the blades sharpened, and she cut fine all year.
  7. Welcome to the big show!
  8. If they have one I would start him out on a Beretta 92fs/M9. No, I am not trying to ignite another "which is better" battle, but the Beretta is a sexy handgun with a mad reputation from being the military's sidearm to the Die Hard and Lethal Weapon movies. It is perfect for hooking a new shooter like I did last week with my father in law. He loved it, but I made sure to tell him when he went to buy that he needed to get what fit him the best. He ended up choosing a Ruger. Not saying Beretta makes the best full size 9mm, but it is certainly the most recognizable, and has the coolest look to it. The 1911 9mm would be cool too, but their capacity is a bit limited, and you need that massive fun factor when hooking new shooters.
  9. We might as well object to his decisions all we want now, because soon Comrade Obama may very well decide we should stop objecting.
  10. I like it. a lot.... Just sayin.
  11. There are undoubtedly special runs for retailers, my favorite example being the Mossberg 600 compared to a Mossberg 500. They were identical just different marketing. My point is that sure, the stocks may be different, but that company is still putting something to market that will reflect them. Look at the cheap Federal 9mm ammo at Walmart. It's common knowledge that it's reboxed Blazer Brass. Is is defective? Almost 2,000 rounds of it put thru my Beretta with no issues says no, the ammo is just fine. I would bet that IF you were to ever find Berettas, Glocks, Rugers, Springfields, or any other reputable handguns at Wally world they would not be any different than any others...
  12. Meh, as I always say Life is too short to go thru it with a gun as ugly as a glock. lol Seriously, take her to a shop and have her hold everything, though I would recommend the XD9 two tone.
  13. Welcome.
  14. ^^^ So, how do you really feel?
  15. Good ideas. Thank you for taking the time to write that.
  16. I hate to do it, cause life is too short to have to own such an ugly gun, but i would have to recommend the Glock with the pull cocker on page one for shooting one handed due to the light recoil. I recently shot a single stack compact .45 glock (I don't know G numbers) and it seemed to recoil less than my 9mm Beretta 92fs. The thing with Blocks though is to try them out just holding first, as they seem to have a love or hate grip to them.
  17. If the ancient Mayans could not see their own demise I doubt they can see mine.... Still, my wife and I are just getting into prepping and it is so overwhelming. I will not have the money to do an AR this year, so our SHTF main gun will be the Mosin Nagant. I need to get a couple of SPAM cans for it. The Beretta 92fs covers the pistol pretty well, but I still need something smaller for carry. I also need to get my permit yet. We are starting the food thing a little at a time with grocery store trips, and are just beginning to think outside the box about things like making jerky. It's tough getting all this going with limited funding. I am going to Ebay off my smart phone to help raise money, but most of it will have to wait until my tax return.
  18. I feel the need to drive all the way over there just to eat there.
  19. Sometimes I wish I was more of a protestor type. I would put a sign in my yard saying that all 1st Amendment rights were suspended on my property. I mean the second amendment says that my right to keep and BEAR arms shall not be infringed, but states and private people do it all the time. I hear all the time that ignorance of the law is no excuse. I hope that any man who says that walks in front of the car waving a red flag whenever his wife drives in Memphis. I also hope that they never engage in "Oral sexual activities" with their wives in the state of Tennessee. Check it out, both laws are on the books, and ignorance is no excuse. I know, those are not the same thing we are talking about, but state laws are often ambiguous and out of date. All this law stuff would be a lot easier if the states and feds stopped infringing on the individual's rights to keep and bear arms.
  20. Too bad OP is not on Sprint. I am about to put my LNIB HTC Evo 4G up on Ebay. It's awesome, but I am finding that I do not use the net enough to justify paying for the data Plan.
  21. I love taking the Mosin to the range. I took it again this morning where she made a LOT of noise, killed some virtual Nazis, and got the usual compliments.
  22. This is the situation I am in. I simply cannot afford to pay the government their bribe money right now. Ironically my federal tax return will be used to get a permit to exercise my constitutional rights. Don't get me wrong I am not upset by my inability to afford $200 at the drop of a hat. I am proud that I can support my family in a way that allows my wife to stay home and raise our children even in the 21st century, it just adds a bit of financial restriction.
  23. Driving a car is not, and never has been a "right." It has always been a privilege. Keeping and bearing arms is my right. Now, I have no issue with taking a safety course, or even proving marksmanship, but I have a BIG problem paying money to do so. If the government wants me to prove my safety and ability then fine. But do not make me pay to take advantage of my 2a rights. It's like charging people to use free speech.
  24. I guess I see this a little differently. As far as I can tell the US Constitution says I have the right to keep and bear arms. When last I looked to bear something means to carry it. Therefore I feel that any "gun control" over law abiding citizens is unconstitutional. This INCLUDES the need for me to get an HCP to carry a weapon. I would like to see an "Empty Holster" day to protest the HCP laws, and the state of Tennessee charging me money to utilize my constitutional rights. Just my opinion.
