I do not usually shop at Gander in Jackson, they just happen to have a large supply of magnum primers. I actually found some pretty good prices at Sportsman's WHSE in Southhaven MS. Just getting into this I have not really put good supply channels together yet. I am kind of taking my time with it, both to avoid costly mistakes and kind of waiting for some of the panic buying crap to run out a bit. In other news I had my first primer detonation while loading last night.... I almost had to clean out my pants. LOL I decided to buy a primer tool.

I would also say the Marlin model 60 over the 10/22 at this time. You can get them new for well under $200. Marlin claims there are twice as many model 60's out there are 10/22's and I tend to agree. You will also find them FAR more accurate out of the box than a 10/22. Marlin's microgroove barrel is unbeatable for stock performance. It's true that there are a lot more aftermarket parts for the 10/22, but this also an issue right now. The 25 round magazines from Ruger are sold out most places, and going for a fortune on places like gun broker. The model 60 will hold 14-18 depending on the age of the rifle you buy. You will be limited to 10 with the Ruger unless you pay a lot for mags.

Kewl. Thanks.

I am using a conservative charge of 4.6 grains of unique shooting 158 gr plated round nose. I am shooting them out of a Ruger GP100 .357 magnum, so I am thinking I should be able to use the magnum primers and keep the rest of my loading the same...

Question: can I use small pistol magnum primers in .38 special? The supply of regular primers seems to be drying up.

That is the boy from Rambo 3 that kept asking for Rambo's stuff.

profitable or a hassle to own an AR in the future?

Well excuse the snot out of me. I just happen to think your average liberal is dumb enough about guns to be fooled by such things. -
This is a very nice knife... Can I have it?
-
Thanks yall. Yeah, it may have been bad. I am not too worried about it, and dang sure not discouraged. 9 out of 10 for my first loads ever is not bad. imo
-
Yeah, I let it sit in the gun for two minutes, unloaded it, reloaded it after looking at the primer, and attempted to fire it again. Still nothing. I am figuring I messed it up somehow. The other nine were fine, and I am going to go ahead and buy that hand primer from Egay, so that should be the end of it. I figure it's just the learning curve.

Well, I loaded my first 10 rounds. The first one failed to fire. The primer did not go off, although it looked like a good hit. I don't know what that was about. The other 9 fired fine, and seemed very consistent. I am using 4.6 grains of unique, and it seemed like a pretty good target load. Mixing 3 reloads with 3 new rounds I could not tell the difference. I think I might look at a hand priming tool. I don't really like using the hammer to put a primer in with this manual loader.

This is a quick rough chop, and out of scale, but I think this will be the only way to possibly hide the AR from the liberals. plus this.. = This... There will need to be variations to account for forward assists, and button extensions, safety selector adapters, etc. but you get the point. -

It's only a matter of time until someone comes out with a wood stock for an AR that camouflages it from the liberals. It wont take much, just change it to look like a hunting rifle. -
I agree with the NRA that a bad guy with a gun is stopped only with a good guy with a gun. I am in favor of removing the gun free signs and allowing teachers with permits to carry as long as they stay concealed and use frangible ammo to avoid possible ricochet. If you trust a school to educate and help guide your child then trusting them to carry is not a big stretch. I think that we could do this quietly, without a lot of undo attention and make it a little more risky for savages to attack schools in TN.

Mine fired 32,000 rounds with the original locking block and never had a single issue. As with anything else results will vary. For Semi Autos I would stick with Beretta, Glock, or XD. Then again if you are looking for the highest reliability get a Ruger Revolver. You can shoot them forever, then your kids can shoot them forever, then your grandkids can do it too. Nothing from Glock, Beretta, Sig, etc. will even come close to the Ruger GP-100, Redhawk, or Blackhawk. There are companies out there that rework Ruger's .357 magnums to also run 9mm from moon clips.

There is a guy in that pic? Nope. Don't see him.

How have you reacted personally? Bought guns? Mags? Ammo?
Will H replied to hipower's topic in General Chat
I ordered a case of Federal .22's.... But that was because I could not find them locally. Other than that I have done nothing but sit back and shake my head at the way people are spending money. I wonder if the gun companies are going to have to start paying Obama a commission, as he is the greatest gun salesman of all. -
Good lord no, I have no intention of approaching a bear. LOL. I wanted something that would be a better bear/dangerous animal deterrent than the typical 9mm/.40/.45 handgun. It's for accidental encounters based on the idea that while it MIGHT kill one, it would probably convince it to go after something that would give it less trouble.

OP- Murphy will win, and if the world ends today it will happen while you are on the toilet. BAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!

Yeah, i would think nullification of an AWB would be more likely,... But I don't see that happening either.

Thank you. That helps quite a bit.
-
Thank you sir. Yeah, I decided that an electronic is prolly easier to use so I got the Frankfort Aresenal suggested above.
-
I went ahead and ordered a scale. Thanks for the help so far yall.

Looks like I might have jumped the gun with question 2. As jb980 said the chart should come with the loader. Yeah, I am also thinking I need a scale.
