  1. TGO friends, my pastor moved into a new house this past weekend and watches/jewelry appaer to have been stolen by the movers. Among those items was a ring from Dallas Theological Seminary and a soldered ring; made from two separate family rings. If any of you peruse Nashville/Franklin area pawn or jewelry shops........please keep an eye out. His remarks were 'it's just stuff' but I know those items have meaning to him. Thanks for reading.
  2. Nice FDE. Yeah, I have the ACR mated with a custom adapter to fit the Bren. I liked the idea of having one in FDE but I wasn't able to easily find a FDE ACR.
  3. She finally arrived today..........
  4. Sure. Basics are: Mega Receiver Set / Proof Research 24" Barrel / Geissele SSA-E trigger / JP BCG / Vortex Razor Gen I / American Rifle Company QD Mount
  5. I'm told they are now appearing within the US. Anyone seen one in the Nashville area?!
  6. My wife built one
  7. fünfundzwanzig! Congrats!
  8.   I won't go over some of the 'known' items that the OP mentioned, save one, the grips.  I had them made by a guy over at CZFirearms forums.  They are black layers of linen fabric in a phenolic resin.   The magic is in the trigger and the accuracy.  With new CGW internals, 85C trigger and new stainless Ring hammer, the DA pull is a 7 lbs 13 ounces and the SA is a very sweet 3 lbs 13 ounces.  SA reset is 2.5 mm.  Barrel bushing is from Wilson Combat and the lockup is extremely tight, in a good way.  Shot over 100 rounds last night with no hiccups using 230 ball and 230 HST defense from Federal.  As far as accuracy, it exceeded my expectations.  Granted, I'm not a NRA bullseye shooter nor do I handload for pistol, but at 15 yards from a standing two-handed position, if I did my part five shot groups were sub-three inches.   All in all, great feeling pistol.  Had that great feel before sending off to CGW but now the trigger and barrel lockup put this black beauty in a different category.
  9. Here she is! Off to the range tonight....
  10. just got the call from CGW that my 97 is coming back to me this week!     Work performed:   E package including complete internals replacement, hammer, trigger and 1911 barrel bushing Meprolight night sights
  11. Rock on, man.  I came across their website the other day and I find what they do pretty interesting.  I'm sort of half and half on what they offer, however.  If I were to do anything to my G19 and have them do it, it'd be the frame mods.  I'd be leery of messing with the slide for reliability reasons, but that's just my opinion it's not based on any evidence of failures to operate correctly.   The one concern I had regarding the frame work they do was subsequent fit with kydex holsters, since some of them index and retain from the trigger guard.  I reached out to them and they noted that they've seen no loss of retention with quality holster maker's products.  So that was good to hear.   For me........undecided.  I have some other things I'd want to throw money at before this but, like others, I'd be very interested in seeing yours once done and even checking it out in person if you'd allow; to see how the frame fits my hand.
  12. I think it is $50 to do a transfer. That is what I recall from a year or so ago.
  13. Nice write-up! I too recently acquired a 97B and I have been pleased with it. I put on the black rubber grips and have been pleased with those. As one to take things to another level, I've just sent it off to CGW for some internals/trigger work and to install their 1911 barrel bushing. Needless to say, I am excited about my 97's return.
  14. The guys over at Precision Rifle Podcast did a good interview with the guy who developed Quickload. As far as his qualifications, he helped develop the cartridge that would become the 338 Lapua Magnum, among other engineering accomplishments.
  15. saw this yesterday and was glad they still had one this morning   Leica is en route
