LOLZ. Bloomberg must have figured out how bad that looked and pulled the story. Yes; Warren Buffett benefits from Obama nixing the Keystone XL pipeline. Oh, and Drudge is reporting that Buffett's secretary will be sitting in the First Lady's box during the SOTU. -
I lived on 55 Acres just past Statesville for a couple of years. Whenever I think about a place to shoot, etc, I really miss that place.

I, too, will have to stop in to Starbucks on Valentine's Day. I will ask for the manager, tell him that I never go to Starbucks, and that I am supporting them on that particular day because I carry and I appreciate their stand on the matter. If the managers of all their locations report back to HQ that there was a huge turnout by gun owners showing their appreciation, it could have an impact on Starbucks, and perhaps, if an actual journalist (are there any of those left?) reported on it, at other chain businesses. -
Follow up question for Mr. Haas: Could you possibly link the last story the Tennessean ran on Fast and Furious? Also, could you let me know when the next one on this subject is hitting the stands? Seems that a DOJ employee taking the fifth about what he did at work qualifies as "crap happening." Thanks.

Here's the question I have that I haven't heard asked or addressed in all the coverage of this incident: Why is there a "No Guns Allowed" sign at the 9/11 Memorial (or anywhere in NYC) if there are no guns allowed whatsoever? If she had not seen this sign, or seen it and simply left, she might have no trouble. (Unless there are metal detectors at the memorial.) -

Now Mykltn, did you really go and drag up, *gasp* FACTS to support your argument? You know that's not allowed in this modern, PC world. (Best post I've seen in a while, my friend, well done.) I'm going to try to follow it up: #1: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Does "the people" mean everyone? Yes. #4: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Does "the people" mean everyone? Yes. #9: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people. Does "the people" mean everyone? Yes. So, for the sake of this discussion, can we all agree that "the people" in these Amendments means all individual citizens? Or simplified: everyone? #2: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. So. The "smart people" Brian speaks of must be saying that in the 2nd Amendment, "the people" does not mean everyone. Which is interesting, because it does in the other Amendments in which "the people" is used. There is no magic in the language of the Constitution. It was written so that anyone who could read, could read and understand it. And the quotes Mykltn listed illustrate that we can see the intent of the founders. Mr. Haas, I appreciate that you look to this and probably other forums for input and quotes for your articles. I even read them to see how it all translates, and it seems that you do so fairly and with the best of intentions. You, as an individual reporter, have my respect, to the extreme that I will venture to the Tennessean website to read them. But, you work for a liberal rag. I would submit to you that if every member of this Forum signed a petition and sent it to the Tennessean stating that we believe the sky is not blue, but is, indeed, forest green, that the Tennessean would not run articles presenting our beliefs as credible, but would dismiss us as lunatics. This is because we would be wrong. The sky is blue. Just because certain folks don't like the 2nd Amendment, doesn't change what it says, or what it protects. It doesn't require "interpretation." It says what it says. If they went after the 1st Amendment like they do the 2nd. I promise that you, as a reporter, would, indeed, pick a side.

I never realized living in my parents basement was a requirement for playing D&D... hmm... amazing, I played D&D and never lived in my parents basement.

LOLZ!!! I started playing D&D when it was D&D. The original box set. Stopped, as many here it seems, when 3rd edition came out and sucked ass. What I think would be fun to play these days, with this crowd, is a game that came out the same time as D&D called Top Secret. James Bond D&D basically, although based on 20 sides and percentiles. I still have the original version box set. Funny to think about it, but when I couldn't get anyone to play, I'd play by myself, and raided the black market shops in the secret alley in the box set module. My "Organization" had millions of dollars of firearms and other assorted things that go bang from these "raids." Now, 30 years or so later, I'm actually compiling a collection of same, albeit a much more modest collection. Also played Vampire, which is what we switched to when we stopped playing AD&D, that is an entertaining world as well.
