  1. Glad I was only present for the shoplifter. The thief could have shot himself, that might have been entertaining. I'm pretty sure he wasn't the only one at the show with one in the chamber, given the way it was posted. But he seems to be the only one who decided to draw it and go all ND on us.
  2. No doubt, Caster. It'll be the same as the comments on the stories, only more cleverly written. He wasn't a bad kid. He didn't deserve death. He wasn't going to shoot anyone, despite pointing a gun at them. Blah, blah, blah.
  3. We should send Dr. Glenn Reynolds a cordial invitation to join our forum.
  4. The word was yesterday that there were 6 guns missing.
  5. Looky there! An article in the Tennessean filled with facts. How refreshing.
  6. Sorry if this was mentioned in the other thread about the show, I can't get TGO to let me past page 1. Just about closing time, must have been just after 4, I became aware of a shoplifting attempt at the show today. KPD went scurrying around, and the girl at the counter I was at filled me in. Apparently the gentleman decided that a scope and a complete AR-15 upper wouldn't be noticed in his pants on the way out the door. He was detained in the back right corner of the hall, and appeared to be seriously reconsidering his life choices when I saw him. On my way out, I passed two officers searching a Mercedes, and uncovering quite a bit of additional merchandies. As I passed, I said to the officer: "please tell me the shoplifter doesn't drive a Mercedes." He replied: "yeah, it goes well with the food stamp card." Of all the places one might consider shoplifting, I'm fairly certain a Gun Show isn't the safest. Also, the fact that he kept going back for more stuff, building up to an AR complete upper, leads me to believe he was trying to get caught.
  7. And do they haul their little asses off to jail or let them go?
  8. I will not say what I'm thinking, I will not say what I'm thinking... You shouldn't do things like this to an old Rocky Horror Picture show type. Seriously.
  9. We're screwed; maybe. Romney may have just screwed the pooch with that info coming out in FL before the primary.
  10. I'll never forget it Vero. Mission control said: "obviously a major malfunction." Being freshmen, we said something to the effect of no it just blew up. Having grown up in central Florida schools, we knew so much about the program. We knew immediately it was catastrophic. We, too, spent the rest of the day watching the coverage on TV.
  11. I agree with you, Dan, I think when one falls, the others quickly begin rethinking.
  12. Yeah. I saw that one too.
  13. I was a Freshman at Oviedo High School. Watched it live in the sky with Mission Control Broadcast on a Walkman. I still have the school newspaper with a photo on the front page of our school's flag at half staff and the smoke trail from the launch behind it. I remember Challenger and her 7 souls every year. Thanks Joe, and Steel for your first hand accounts, I haven't heard many of those since I moved home from Florida.
  14. msnbc.com U.S. & World News - 'Knockout King': New brand of street violence targets random victims Came across this while reading the comments on the PA man who defended himself against the 3 punks. Presents interesting SD scenarios. What do you do if attacked by 10-15 little punk ass kids? "The attacker charges at the victim and begins punching. If the victim goes down, the group usually scatters. If not, others join in, punching and kicking the person, often until he or she is unconscious or at least badly hurt. Sometimes the attacks are captured on cellphone video that is posted on websites." Doesn't mention what they do if the first attacker goes down. I'm betting that would put a significant dent in their plans.
  15. Couldn't help but notice this comment on the story.
  16. That is a much better example! Could someone (or many someones) expound on the benefits of a lever action?
  17. Interesting... wonder what the "White Leaders" think? Oh. Right. *That* would be racist.
  18. I'm planning on going tomorrow.
  19. Simply because I loved his reaction to it when it was brought up in the campaign: "Oh yeah? You have big ears!"
  20. Wasn't using your opinion to slam anyone. I agree with your thoughts on KNS.
  21. Thanks R_Bert. I'm betting from the disappearing act, Mr. Haas got my point.
  22. Saturday, March 3rd? I'll mark it down and plan on attending!
  23. Good shoot. And the comments were priceless. Not meaning to hijack, but, it is on topic... would you have waited to shoot until he pointed the gun at you? What I'm getting from the story is he probably got shot while moving the gun towards the Customer. Which is probably what I would have done. I keep reading in stories where people draw their weapons to hold people until the police arrive, without there being negative consequences to the permit holder. Thoughts on doing this in Tennessee?
  24. Voldemort Vs. Leonidas! +1 Romeo + Juliet was indeed done with modern accoutrements... "Sword 9mm" as I recall. "Draw your swords." I liked it. But I like Shakespeare.
