Thx guys, made me smile ;o) Shoot me an IM and I'll check prices for ya on what you want. I'm also a direct retailer now for Silenershop.. many have ordered off their website, they're on my FFL now and file the form 4s as soon as the form 3 clears to send to me. But happy to help if I can, if I can't beat it I'll happily do the transfer in. Want you to get the best price you can. It gets tough in state b/c we have to charge tax. The manufacturers have dropped pricing down it's hard for anyone to charge tax, include the transfer (if a trust) and still be web site competitive but there's a few models I still can. Thanks again fellas for the kudos, means everything to me!

41P Update - November 2015
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to midtennchip's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Looks like they're doing away with some of the CLEO nomenclature but there will still be some kind of CLEO involvement. I don't think it's a mere sending a copy for their records like we do on a multi handgun sale. Wording suggest a CLEO would have to confirm the prints and photos are of the individual they're associated with and possibly the CLEO doing a background check. The doc (below) state CLEO will be responsible for some certification which I'm assuming equates still to a face to face visit of some portion. Read thru pages 13-19, somewhere around there https://www.atf.gov/file/100896/download -

Mill a p320 slide
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to Dustbuster's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I'm close DB, my contact got his slide back so I subsequently lost access to the RMR to finish things up... it's very close.. I'm not going to run one and just haven't wanted to drop the $400 to get a RMR to finish. There's a few out on the web who do this but I know they're backed up 2-3 months. If you can spare 3-4 weeks and wouldn't mine loaning me your RMR, I'll finish the programming and would mill your slide for free when ready. -

LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to fixtmar82's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
The replacement you post is a Baldor, worse case it should be good stuff.. doesn't appear to be a knock off.. heck I blow that in my stupidity daily ;o) .. check on rebuild but it wasn't as bad as I've seen .. my motors are $3-$400+ -

Let us know the year, make and model .. may can help point ya a little better. I agree with all the post above. Would add if you have to replace the motor there's usually a compatible upgrade you can get to get more HP or spindle speed. Best of luck -

FA Options for first
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to MemHeli's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I have a very nice Powder Springs MAC 10 9mm transferable (Original Ingram - 71/72 model) in inventory right now. Been meaning to take some pics and get some prices up. Trying everything I can not to keep it myself ;o) Has 4 mags, AR collapsible stock adapter, case, sling, front strap. I threaded the barrel for a can I have here. 1/2x36. Will reparkerize before it goes out. I had blasted it a few months ago and just dropped it in a tank that was nearing its flush time. I wanted to get some finish on it to keep from rusting. Keep an eye on the classified boards. I'll probably be listing it here in the next few weeks. On the list for a new Lage upper so if Linda calls me soon I may keep her. -
Class III Out of State Transfer
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to WarPig's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I re-read your post, orginally pulled it up on my phone.. you were actually already on the right track I should have simply expanded on that .. it has to get into TN and you had alluded that.... you were close.. I use the "item on form" speech when I can .. it gets confusing and so many get wrapped up in where it's been and just try to point out the form has no bearing really on the item.. we're all guily... we even say here in inventory on a form 3 ;o) ... all has to do with who has it and where it's going. All this stuff I have in my inventory is "sitting" here on a form 3 but should I not pay my license next year it ALL would automagically be then taxable and anything I subsequently sold would go out on a Form 4 even if to another dealer. I have a post sample I got from an old dealer who let his license lapse and he had to transfer it to me on a tax paid Form 4 ... strange to see a post sample machinegun come in on a F4! -
Class III Out of State Transfer
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to WarPig's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Thing to remember items are never on Forms, Forms are just the vehicles used to transfer items .... the tax paid or tax not paid has to do with if parties are SOT holders, govt. agencies, etc... ... IF party 1 AND party 2 are SOT holders, a tax free Form 3 can be used to transfer an item between the two regardless of where they are. However this is not the case... If the item is owened by an individual in another state and you want it here, no way around you two paying 2 transfer taxes. The item has to be in TN before it can be transfered to you (unless you have a FFL - you'll see explanation below) Fastest way to you would be for him to transfer the item out via a Form 4 directly to a dealer here in TN... then once approved that dealer can transfer it tax paid Form 4 to you. Would be (2) stamps, (2) waits however the dealer transfer, even though still a Form 4, should go a little faster since they're nothing they (ATF) have to really check. He could Form 4 it to a local dealer in his state, transfer from that dealer to a dealer here on a tax free Form 3 and then from dealer here to you back on a Form 4 but that's adding 4-8 weeks of going through 2 dealers and god knows how much extra wait when he only needs one. The ONLY reason I see in folks transfering it to a local dealer first is IF the item it is not sold, it makes it more advertisable... folks would prefer to buy an out of state item that is in a dealer's inventory b/c dealer to dealer generally transfers faster.. so it's faster to get an item from an out of state dealer to your dealer than it is an out of state individual to your dealer but not by much ... Only other option not widely known is a regular FFL holder (non SOT) can have an out of state NFA item transfered via a tax paid Form 4 directly to them ... so if you had a C&R FFL or something like that you could cut out one transfer and it come directly to you (tax paid, 1 transfer). So the GCA controls interstate transfer between licensees while the Form 3/4 regulate the ATF tax of that item. Ping Kris (173rdABN) he's a little closer to you than I am and I'm sure he'd be happy to receive in the item into TN (he's a SOT like myself) and then Form 4 it to you on the flip side. Depending on the deal (if this is the MAC you're getting for a sweet deal maybe not) but I try to get folks to negotiate that 1st transfer paid by the seller ... so he covers 1, you cover the 2nd... many will usually do this out of courtesy, others think their items are the NFA unicorms and you're doing them a favor by buying it.. it all depends on the deal but in a case like this you're looking at $400 dollars just in transfer.. this is what normally kills out of state suppressor purchases and it just doesn't warrant the transfer tax. If Kris doesn't chime in I'll ping him for ya, or if you want to come to Knoxville I'd be happy to help ya get here. -

Great to see everyone and put some faces to some board members. Strange though NO one showed up yesterday to help clean all this stuff ;o) JK.. those that know me know this is a FIRST that everything I have is now clean at the same time! Great shoot, glad so many got to experience NFA for the first time. We'll definitely have to do it again soon for those who couldn't make it. Kris and I echo everyone's comments. Thank you to all who supported the drive and a sincere thanks to all the guys who stood fast on the ranges to help be sure everything was safe and everyone was having fun. I enjoy watching folks shoot more than I do shooting but I know some of my guys it was probably killing them to watch ;o) Note below videos are links so be sure to click on them for the action! https://vimeo.com/144517972 https://vimeo.com/144518191 https://vimeo.com/144518524 https://vimeo.com/144520469 https://vimeo.com/144520591 Thanks again. LE and MG
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to Johnny Rotten's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
The FSD shoot is to raise money for Toys for Tots. It's not a LE sanctioned or demonstration. I can assure everyone here none of these weapons are owned by any LE agency nor would they sponsor any such event... that, you can definitely thank the media for. We do hope to raise money for a good cause and let you folks shoot some guns you might not have had an opportunity to shoot before. None of us backing this are pocketing a cent from it. On top of that I'm sure it's going to cost us all several thousand in maintenance after the shoot. These things are not cheap to keep running and I'm not talking about the ammo. But come on JR, not you too ;o) .. et tu Brute ;o) ... As far as to why... I have to ask why not? We all remember the BOA robbery in LA with the full autos and the police were outgunned for over an hour? They were outgunned because of the touchy feely media pressure. You are correct though, the media has every department on their toes and under normal circumstances most of this weaponry would not be needed. Our SWAT only has a few select fire weapons but we ourselves have been in a few shootings recently where our deputies did not even have patrol rifles. Just by fate backup arrived who did and ended the firefight and we went home. I can tell you It's a daunting task to engage someone with a rifle, even a deer rifle and all you have is a G22. Is a 240B or SAW needed, 99.9% of the time heck no... I hope and pray they're never needed but at the same time I see nothing wrong with any agency being prepared. You don't normally need a sledgehammer to drive a thumbtack but if you show up and there's a railroad tie that needs hammering would be nice to have that sledgehammer. The same media that looks at that boat or any of our guns and says why would also be the one when 50 people are killed by some jacked up meth head with an arsenal at his disposal asking why we were not prepared for the worse. You can't win with these jerks and I for one don't waste an ounce of worry on what our leader thinks is too much... when he walks around without his secret service detail armed to the tee then he can throw stones at us. Our job is to protect the public and ALL of us go home... period... it's not supposed to be fair.. we don't start the fights but we are tasked with meeting force with force. We ARE responsible for every round that leaves any of our weapons and every officer knows that. Given this, media or not, I would never expect any LE agency, border or not, to roll up onto any public demonstration anywhere (not just TN) with a MRAP mounted with LMGs. Same token though, I'm sure the THP doesn't fire up the boat above when they want to check to be sure folks fishing licenses are up to date... these weapons have specific purposes and would be used in special circumstances. I'm sure Ferguson had much more firepower than they showed up with... but their officers riding up in MRAP with the crowd throwing rocks and god knows what, I don't see any harm in that at all. My media rant is why should those in charge of order be concerned with how they look when they're up against people who clearly have no issue with disobeying the laws.... The first level of force in any situation is officer presence... Hopefully that alone discourages most the rift raft... But even when THP boat is just being trailered down the interstate, it's serving a purpose in my mind...if nothing more it says don't start nothing, won't be nothing! I dig the bravos too! little jealous, would love to drop that sucker in at Watts Bar ;o) -
M10-Mac 10. Owners/Shooters Enter
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to WarPig's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Yeah, stinks as there's such a wait even the Gen 1s when they come available are usually as much if not more than a new one. I did see a 45 cal G1 on gunbroker a few weeks ago but it was almost $900. I really like the Mk2's looks though over his original design. But yep, go ahead and get on the list and if you happen to find something in between they're cool about it, always someone else behind ya and it's great you don't have to put a deposit or prepay like other manufactures require you to do. -

Unless you've found a Mk1 used upper, email Jackie at Lage Manufacturing ASAP to be put on a waiting list for their Mk2 uppers. It's about a 5-6 month waiting list. Sales@max-11.com Be sure to tell her the model mac you have. The email doesn't commit you to anything other than a spot in the line. She'll call when your number is up and if you don't want it then they'll move to the next person on the list. But I'd go ahead and get on just so your clock starts. Some other good stuff www.usmachinegun.com And Cobray is still in business selling parts.. they have a few old M10 parts and accessories www.cobray.com -

To ante the pot, I've asked Kris (173rdABN) from DTV Tactical Innovations in Hendersonville to bring down some of his weaponry and help out with the event. There's a potential scheduling snafu he has to work out but as of now it's a definite maybe. Be difficult to find someone to match Kris' decade plus of SAW experience. He's a combat vet who cut his teeth while serving as a 249 gunner in the deadly Korengal Valley, Afghanistan then later as an Overseas Security Contractor. A great guy to meet, always willing to help and an asset to the TGO community. -

Yep, a MG is the safest thing to have you can hang a kitchen sink off it if you want. The Lage uppers are nice and there's a lot of MACs still winning the SMG shoots. They are heavy, not really practical for target shooting but super fun to shoot full auto. Tom Bowers (subguns.com) has a nice can with the correct mounts for the MAC's thread pitch. I have a M10-9mm and threaded the end for my cans... I can thread it for you if you'd prefer to shoot the more standard cans on it. Sounds like you got it for a song and dance so I'd say yeah, deal of the century... depending on make/model and accessories you're in the $4500-$6000 price range on current value. MACs use to be the best entry into FA but they've climbed a few thou in the recent years.. back when they were still $2500-$3000 they were easy to sell.. now with them getting into the $5k range folks start saving that they'll often save a little more for an UZI or something a little more desirable but ANY FA is still a great gun! Congrats on the find! -
Trust Engraving Question.
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to jmevis's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
The engraving can be in the polymer, it doesn't have to be metal.. I do a lot of UMPs, etc. The web pics I could find look like there's a ton of real estate that could be used to engrave .. Not following the need to have to disassemble... if that a requirement or limitation of the engraver? -
Trust Engraving Question.
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to jmevis's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
You really should make every effort to engrave in a visible area if one exists.. outside of that you have some possibilities.. I wouldn't suggest doing a lot of hiding when there's adequate and appropriate room elsewhere. Keep in mind reg is only .003 which is about the thickness of a sheet of copy paper. It can be discrete and still legal. -
Trust Engraving Question.
LawEnforcementSalesTN replied to jmevis's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Must be whatever is considered the "receiver" .. It's ok to engrave the receiver and if in a position that is normally covered up you can also engrave an external peripheral but the receiver must have the manuf and s/n info on it.. If the trigger pack is removable I'd think that would not be acceptable as the only location.... there's a few exceptions like FALs where the receiver is the upper portion... -
