  1. Andrew, if you can't find someone locally and don't mind shipping, happy to help ya. I'm in eastern TN. If the barreled action will fit in my CNC lathe (3" bore) or if the barrel is removed would be $65. Otherwise would be $100 as I'd have to use the old manual Monarch. Thx
  2. Thank you sir! I'll let you know when it arrives
  3. Sorry been out of town ... the shop address is Law Enforcement Sales 5110 Harriman Hwy Oliver Springs, TN 37840
  4. Prefect. Is it not threaded now at all? Doesn't matter either way just if it's threaded 1/2x28 or 36 we'd have to cut it back a bit. No difference in price just asking. Threading would be $65. Shipping I'd expect USPS priority small box would be fine. Right around $7 base+ couple dollars depending on what you were confortable with insurance wise. Turn around 3-4 days at most. 5. Bob I can help if you don't mind shipping. I would need to measure the outside diameter (OD) of the barrel. You really need a small shoulder created for the suppressor to butt up against. The .578 is the diameter portion of the pattern, with 28 threads per inch. So, I'd say the barrel's OD really needs to be around .750" or so to give it a decent shoulder. You may be ok would just have to see.. worse case I could machine a shoulder adapter. But happy to help if you can't find a local resource you trust. Thx Mike
  6. No need to call them they won't be able to find your pre-approved form. The approved Form 4 will go back to your dealer so you shouldn't have any worry about anything being lost in the mail. When you pick it up you could then file a 5320.20 - application to transport NFA item. On it there's an option for permanent. This is the same form you'd use if you want to take your weapon to another state for a shoot, vacation, etc. In state moves do NOT require this but they ask that you do it. It would nice to have an approved 5320 with your Form 4 if you're ever questioned. However, again, this is one of the rare cases where they ask you do this and not mandate you do.
  7. You can get cards from the local PD.. they need to be the blue on white, not red on white.. FD-258 Then be sure the ORI has WVATF0800 ATF - NFA BRANCH MARTINSBURG, WV Most cards from the PDs will have their ORI on them.. just put a sticker over or hand write in the above ORI. The ORI above properly routes the cards back NFA after the FBI checks them through IAFIX.
  8. Leaning towards the grenade launcher myself. I've cut quite a few customer's down to para length and never had any cycling issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Haven't seen anything officially mailed/emailed yet to us FFL/SOT holders.  But of course that doesn't mean much I've gotten letters months after something was officially implemented.
  10.   They no longer allow MULTI on NFA..   ATF "recommends" you notify them of any permanent change to configuration... as stated above, it's one of the very few "ask/recommendations" as opposed to the many "shall" statements.   If you know you will NEVER put a 223 back on and it will FOREVER be a 300 blk out, then write the letter stating you are changing the permanent caliber to 300 Blk Out ... send a copy of the letter and a copy of your form 1.  They will (usually do but may not) eventually send you a letter thanking you.    Permanent is a very rare word though in the AR world especially .. I wouldn't worry with a letter IMHO .. in the 30 years I've been around this stuff I have never seen anyone get any hassle from anyone over running a different caliber or barrel length on any stamped form .. furthermore, on the 300 blk out, it's only the barrel that is different... 1/1000 wouldn't ever catch that ... you'd more than likely even have to pull a loaded mag to tell it was a different caliber.   I even stopped bringing my 300s to shoots because they look so much like a 223s/5.56s I'm afraid folks would eventually grab the wrong mags.    If you have the form 1 in hand, get the 300, sell or swap the 223.. don't sweat it.
  11. Any permanent changes just write a letter stating what you did.  Keep a copy and note when it was mailed/sent.  You can also fax to the WV branch.  There is no form.  One of the few things they "ask" you to do but very few actually do it.  I personally wouldn't worry but if it makes you feel better a letter is all you can do.
  12. YOU, as the Transferor (current owner) retains the item in your possession until you receive an approved form to transfer... this is regardless of where it is going to or even who will be receiving it.. the who could be an individual, a dealer (in state or out), or a government agency.  The approved form will come back to you.  At that point you can make arrangements for the new buyer to collect the item.   Suppressors owned by non dealers are "normally" sold to an instate buyer.  Because you are NOT a dealer, the item will have to transfer out on a tax paid ($200) form 4.  If you find an in-state buyer, it's just 1 stamp and you/he can negotiate who is responsible for that.  Normally suppressors the buyer will pay but there is no set requirement.  It's between the two of you to negotiate.   You can also sell it to ANY FFL holder in-state or out, even if they do not have a SOT license.  Any dealer in-state or not, SOT holder or not can receive the item from you AFTER a Form 4 has been submitted, approved and you have the approved form back in your hands.   Since you are not a dealer WHOEVER receives the item there will have to be a tax paid UNLESS you sell/give it to a government agency.  An agency (Police, Sheriff's Office, Military, etc.) can receive the item on what's called a Form 5, which is very similar to a Form 4 but there would be NO tax requirement necessary so it would transfer to the agency tax free - but even then you'd still wait on the approved Form 5 to come back before they could take the item from you.   If you have a buyer give me a little more info on where they are/who they are and I'll be sure the specific process is explained but the skinny is KEEP the item until you get an APPROVED form mailed back to you directly.    Hope this helps
  13.   Says he who is sure of himself ;o) .. JK .. Gordon is one of our greats hands down!   OP, If he'll send me a list I'll do a quick assessment.. I've been doing this for over 25 years.  I don't write up official appraisals but will know most and know where to ask for any I don't know offhand.   Kris (173rdABN) is physically closer and I'm sure would/could handle the brokering when time comes.  We work close together and I'm happy to help and dig a bit for him.
  14. Any MAC any thread pitch you're going to have to check for walk off... it's not bad .. shoot a mag or two, check the can.. some stick, some don't .. it's not hard to do and you'd be suprise given the weight how many times you're going to hold the can to balance (when you first start) ... Bowers and others make a cover you can slide over the can and then use it almost like a forearm.  I don't prefer the asthetics of them but function wise they work great and will keep you from burning yourself.   The walk off is just b/c the full auto, short frame .. .it's hell on anything ....you don't see this as much on pistols but if you had a F/A pistol you'd have to check that too .. the only downside to the threaded MAC barrels is you usually do not have enough of a shoulder to get a good lock up from the can .. so that's why it wanders but that's why pistol cans will often walk too .. when there is no shoulder the materials get hot and can loosen.   Me, I'd be comfortable getting either adapter, I'd expect both to be professionally machined, especially Mark's stuff but I'm sure QRF is plenty adequate and would perform just as well.
  15. www.titaniumgun.com - they're in CA but get good reviews from the posts I've seen.
  16. Cool, see a little FAL goodness mixed in there ..
  17. If you can't get it going on your own I'd be happy to take a look at it for ya.  Just keep us posted.   Good luck!
  18. Watch it, Kris will drag out that bad-ass Jennings he has... no telling what all he's done it to it by now...doubt anyone could really afford to shoot it, not that the ammo is that expensive, it's the liability insurance ;o)   I have a DOE customer who has an AA12 .. it's not full auto but I might can get it if anyone wants to shoot it..  they didn't really impress me that much
  19.   Money is what we need so hey, this is exactly what we want to hear ;o)  .. we'll be sure it's worth the while for everyone!
  20.   I still have hole in my tactical carrier vest where I had hot brass fall on me from a UH-60 firing one while I was training at Blackwater about 15 years ago.  Looks pretty cool.. people think I got shot ;) .. they ate my ars up that week I often wish I HAD been shot ;o)
  21. Don't have any in stock, they're becoming unicorns but I do love the Tridents... if you find one I'd be happy to do the transfer in for ya or 173rdABN is closer to your neck of the woods (Hendersonville) sure he'd do the transfer too.  Sold my last one about a year ago and kick myself daily for it ;o)   The Octane is a great can as well... SWR is now the machining side of SilencerCo.. miss them being in SC, great group of guys.  I love their work but the Tridents can still be found if you're diligent.
  22.   Pretty sure David LIVES there ;o)
  23. What the hell, can't hurt ..   https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/remove-noise-reducing-silencers-or-suppressors-national-firearms-act-class-3-regulated-item
  24.   Yep .. they ask that you do notify of any permanent changes but there's no official requirement so very few ever do
  25. Best option for an AOW is to have a C2 like myself create one for you on a Form 2.. it then transfers out on a form 4 that is only a $5 transfer fee. But everyone is correct, it's $200 to make ANYTHING unless you're a C2, then it's free - lucky me ;o) You're stuck without the weapon while the form approves but yeah I've been there done that and paid $200 to add a freaking grip to a pistol I had once.  Then 2 months later removed the grip and sold the pistol .. not the brightest bulb in the socket but it was at least a HK SP89 so the thousands I made allow me to swallow the $200 stamp a little easier.   It's moot in this situation, other have stated correctly, the fact your shotgun came with and once had a stock it can never be an AOW.  If you come across a virgin receiver and/or a factory pistol grip (other) weapon I'll be happy to assist with the AOW creation for you.   In your case I'd file the form 1 for a SBS and do what you want .. you'd be open down to road to put a stock on it if you desired.  But a SBS can have a pistol grip only as long as it's papered as a SBS.
