Free bump for a guy so torn up about selling this revolver that he wept tears into the gun's box - and was honest about it. J/k. That is one bad bad weapon! GLWS.

At one time Kel-Tec sold Sub 2000 guns with a factory feed ramp made of plastic. Aftermarket steel feed ramps are available. They're neat weapons, and I firmly believe inexpensive guns serve an important role. But after doing a few 2-gun matches, I prefer rifle caliber carbines now for practical purposes.

Colossal thank you to Matt, Jay, and the ROs and volunteers who came in from more than 20 states to pitch in. Today was (as usual for Legion) an amazing match. And getting to carry SGT Brian Buker's dogtag on the course was an honor. You can read his Medal of Honor citation at cmohs.org. TGO folks, if you've never been to this event, you're missing an absolute blast of a time.

Pain103, thanks for that - much appreciated.

Appreciate the OP starting this thread. If anyone comes across the judicial opinion itself, please post a link.

Defender, glad you enjoyed D&T Arms. Dave's good people and I'm sorry it closed. A year and a half after my enlistment ended, I needed work. When he found out he gave me a job on the spot at the store. I learned a ton there.

The staff make or break a gun shop. A huge selection brings people in (think Nashville Armory) but the way they treat customers is what brings people back. Sumner Gun is a great example - they've made a loyal customer out of me. Hope Outpost takes the same approach to customer service.

Frustrating. Sorry to hear about the company's closure and your friend's troubles. Even sorrier it wasn't possible for the company to litigate these cases on the merits. I completely understand settling. It would be a long, expensive process. Still, it might have resulted in final decisions against the cities - discouraging other cities from using the same tactic in the future against other companies that make parts, accessories, etc. It's unfortunate the company sold products in blue states in the first place. That increased the chance of having to defend state law tort suits against the company in places hostile to civil rights. It also made the defense harder for the company.

Ruger Revolver owners , especially GP100's I have a few questions
Wheelgunner replied to tercel89's topic in Handguns
Tercel89 - The early production 7-round .357 GP-100 revolvers had a problem seating the 7th round with some brands of ammunition. In other words, the chambers were so close together that the cartridge rims would not all fit. Don't know if Ruger corrected that later on, but look into that before buying a 7 round GP-100. -

Recommendations and thoughts on Taurus Revolvers Revolvers
Wheelgunner replied to leroy's topic in Handguns
I appreciate all the comments above, especially from folks like pop pop who have firsthand experience owning multiple Taurususes. The 605 I had years ago was reliable, easy to carry, and grouped well. Its trigger had a slightly gritty feel to it, but to me that's OK in a workhorse/knockaround gun. -
Recommendations and thoughts on Taurus Revolvers Revolvers

Will Carry nailed it. What you want is a knockaround gun that you won't worry about and can just enjoy. One of the old (pre-lock) Taurus revolvers would do that job fine. -
Supreme Court strikes down bump stock law!
Wheelgunner replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Law as it should be. The "living document" school of thought is nonsense. If you write "bread" on your grocery list and then go to the store, does that now magically mean "cheese" instead? The executive regulation phenomenon is just an extension of the same flawed logic. Like rights, words matter. -
Middle TN Business Owners Targeted By Int'l Theft Group

Gun sane, thanks for posting. I feel for the victims. Good reminder about the importance of varying your routines and being vigilant even at home. -
Like Garufa, I've got it bad. I had been happy with Rugers for a decade. Then, I handled a 3" KC over at the Armory in Nashville.

The Ruger Mark guns are neat, but to me their design makes disassembly unreasonably difficult. If I were buying a .22 just for fun, I might go with a Ruger Charger.

Appreciate all the responses. Felines, I reached out to Mr. Dyer today. That was a good lead - many thanks.

I appreciate that and might end up going that route if I can't find someone willing to work on it. Unfortunately I've just never worked on one, and I'm willing to pay a mechanic some bucks to get up and running quickly.

It's a '98 75 hp Force.

Does anybody have a good marine mechanic around Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, etc.? I'm having trouble with a 75 hp outboard and power trim on a little boat and need to call in the big guns. Thanks for any recommendations.

Like Skyhunter, "happy Memorial Day" doesn't sit well with me. I tend to wish people "a peaceful Memorial Day" - usually in parting, not as a greeting.

Given the ballistics, I can understand the value of the XM250 as compared to a 249. It's harder for me to understand moving regular infantry units from a 6.5 lbs M4 over to the 10 lbs XM7 - and even more so an Air Assault unit like the 101st. Like with a macinegun, a fire team or designated marksman is one thing, but the whole unit? Light infantry actually has an important role, and when you're on a patrol, extra weight is the enemy.

Hope there's good weather for the next few weeks. I'm about to be in the doghouse!
