  1. Turn him on and set him loose . . . . like . . . BAAAAMMMMM!
  2. You can be pretty sure it's not a pork barbecue sandwich . . .
  3. It is a tribute to the founders and an everlasting testament to the power and enduring legacy of the Constitution that it can survive the idiots, for idiots there will always be.
  4. Sounds like another immigrant after a green card wife, enraged because she wouldn't follow through. I wonder how much time he had left before his visa expired.
  5. You Sir, have no problem. You have a wife that wants an AK-47 rifle! Everything else is just details. Buy her whatever she wants. And then dinner out afterwards.
  6. Fun to think about! Very, very fun to think about! Not so much fun to do. Hate to be put in a position where it could happen. Probably wouldn't have the presence of mind to do half of it.
  7. Reportedly, Ronald Reagan would NOT go into the Oval Office unless he was wearing a suit and tie. Back when we had a real President.
  8. A conservative is a liberal who's been mugged. Over time, a couple of liberal professors get jacked up at the ATM or shot at and the tune can change. Some campuses are getting bad enough for that to happen. Then, change comes. They have to have their nose rubbed in it first. This is mostly a rant. I don't know a practical way to move it forward, as I am not about to jack up a lib professor myself. . . .
  9. The AttackWatch is being beaten up and ridiculed in the media. A lot of conservatives and conservative websites are spamming the heck out of it with self-reports and other ludicrous bits. Ridicule is an extremely powerful weapon.
  10. Here's the web posting: Gunmen Rob MTSU Student At ATM - NewsChannel5.com | Nashville News, Weather & Sports
  11. Psalms 22:19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste Thee to help me. Psalms 144:1 Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight. Saving Private Ryan! Awesome.
  12. Really like the photo, the diagonal makes it more active, the way-retro classic scope, the glint of the polish on the ball of the bolt handle , the grain of the wood, even the weathered wood deck background. Just a good looking picture of a good looking rifle. I'd +1 on a Post Your Rescue . . . especially with before and afters, where it started life, what it did, where it was found, where the bits and pieces were found, who helped, sleuthing down that last little bit, tools and techniques for fixing old problems, the target with the three holes next to the dime, all that stuff. Done up right, this is where gun magazine articles can come from . . .
  13. IMO, this is an awesome thread! I'd be very interested in a thread or threads with other rescued rifles. Before and after, the process, everything. If I had the rifle, I'd start it. Don't know if it would be hijacking this thread to turn it into an all-call.
  14. IMO this won't stand on appeal. The government cannot pick and choose who is worthy of protecting themselves and who is not. Unless the state or local government is willing to assign an individual and personal police officer or bodyguard to each person who is denied a permit, ultimately they will be required to issue a permit to those who request one. It seems to me that at a certain level, if the government denies me the right to protect MYSELF, the government acquires the DUTY to protect me, at whatever cost. If the government is not willing to absorb that cost, then they must allow me to protect myself. When the government is finally presented with such a cost choice, they will pick the cheaper one every time. It is most cost effective to permit citizens to protect themselves. The issue could be forced in legislative action by denying bodyguard funds for government officials. Mayor Bloomberg, the arrogant ba$tard, would have a whole different opinion on concealed carry and personal protection if he did not have a bodyguard contingent on the public dime.
  15. The guy in the suit looks like he might be the BMW driver. My apologies to BMW drivers everywhere.
  16. Would I shoot three girls? If they were invading my home, yes. It's getting to be a pretty common trick to get you to open the door, as the evil people adjust and develop their tactics. It used to be a girl would knock on the door and the two hulking ex-con guys would then jump out. Now, the girl or girls do it themselves. They are getting bolder. Now that we know, we won't be fooled, and they will get shot regardless. Thanks for the warning. I grieve for the country.
  17. A group of folks rising to the occasion. They had an opportunity to demonstrate their quality.
  18. I've heard and have been told that writing it all down in excruciating detail puts it all into a different place in your memory so that you never forget the details but that they also don't stay up in your active mind and that it does let you sleep without the unbidden recall, because you know you can recall it all by re-reading it, if you chose to do so. It's like putting something very precious in a very safe place so that you don't have to carry it around in your hand. It may be one of the reasons that there are so many first person accounts by warriors; they are all seeking relief and rest from their experiences. In my opinion, if you didn't care a great deal, it probably wouldn't bug you. I have not met you but you are clearly a really good person.
  19. Golden Retrievers, always heard they were wicked-smart and loving dogs. Very nice. Drew straws to polish your-all's boots. Excellent. Everybody's got their bit to give, let them. God Bless you and good luck with your dreams, I imagine that's a hard part.
  20. I was an Air Force Reserve Public Affairs officer at United States Strategic Command at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska on September 11, 2001. We were in the middle of Exercise Global Guardian -- we could not have been MORE ready. I watched the second plane hit the towers live on television at work. The exercise ended on a knife edge and we went to a war footing almost immediately. A little later in the day, President Bush was in our building in the underground command post getting a secure briefing with his full National Security Council via our teleconferencing facility. Air Force One was refueled and picked up a fresh Combat Air Patrol of National Guard F-16s. I was within 10 feet of President Bush that day. Shortly thereafter, I was recalled to active duty in Massachusetts, three tours in Iraq, and two tours in San Antonio. It's ten years later, and I've just retired.
  21. I am very happy with my Springfield Armory 'Loaded' and it can be had for that amount. They've also come out recently with their 'Range Officer' and I think it's available for less than $900 as well.
  22. A good gun becomes a great gun when your wife gets it for you!! Lucky guy! . . . you are gonna let her shoot it too, right?
  23. Best thread title EVER! I thought taxidermy would be involved!
  24. Conservative, Populist, Constitutionalist. The First, Second and Tenth Amendments are favorites. We are capable of governing ourselves, and at the lowest possible level of government. City over County, County over State, State over National.
  25. Put a lawyer on retainer and go after the school through the Superintendent and the School Board. If the school district thinks one of their stupid teachers or one of their stupid ideas is going to cost them time, MONEY, inconvenience and bad publicity, they back down just about every time. Sounds like there might be grounds for punitive damages to the tens of thousands of dollars, with elements of official oppression, exposure to humiliation and ridicule, exposure to pain and suffering, advancement of a political agenda from a school employee on school property on school time. Don't forget all your lawyer's costs . . . TFA and NRA might have a list of resources. And . . . Sometimes just a friendly call to a friendly lawyer that makes a friendly call to his friends at the school and everybody withdraws to a neutral corner. You certainly don't need to be an S.O.B. That's the lawyer's job. Smile, smile, smile. Nothing personal, just business. I suppose we could go on the internet and find the website for the school, and the e-mail address and telephone number for the principal, superintendent, and the chairman of the school board and post it for all the world to see, but I'm thinking the moderator's here have enough to do already.
