  1. Every Marine a rifleman so this is gun-related and for the active duty, reserve, vets and families that travel this forum: Marine's Widow Grateful For Return Of Husband's Wedding Ring | Fox News This is above and beyond, but if I was the dead Marine, I'd sure be glad that my buddies went the distance for my widow. God Bless you all and Semper Fidelis.
  2. Like all above. ^^^^ Don't get mad, get even. Take the time to be cool and get the state and license plate number, vehicle description, perp description. License plate number! Call the dispatcher at 911 in a level voice, with the identifications, road he's on, direction of travel, mile markers or cross streets, approximate speed. License plate number! All the facts. No shouting! Throw in that your family with small children is in the car and they're completely freaked out, add the road range description, a passing reference to potential serious drug abuse, reference to the weapon-shooting gestures and potential to be armed, the slamming brakes, the wild manuevers, your concern for everyone else on the road, build the whole picture. All the facts. No shouting! They might not send one police car, or they might send six and lay out spike strips. Can't outrun the radio. If he continues to act the ass with the cops, he might not survive the experience. Have a nice day!
  3. Welcome from Smyrna, not too far away.
  4. It's all a drill . . . until it's not. Good luck at getting to the root cause and taking corrective action.
  5. A LOT of Mom & Pop stores buy their commodity stocks in bulk from WalMart-owned Sam's Club and get a pretty good deal for it. And, the Sam's Clubs were set up to do the business-to-business stuff. They can't build the big box stores out in the sticks, so a lot of the smaller stores way out there drive into town and pick up a pick-up truck load of supplies to retail out in their community. It's like a warehouse for them. Is it a perfect world where small stores on the edge of profitability survive next door to Walmart? No. Is it an evil world where Walmart dominates all and runs the little guy off in every case? No. All businesses are involved in "Rent Seeking Behavior" where costs and profits drive decisions, large and small.
  6. Glad they got him. How do you get signed up for the MTSU alerts? Do you have to be a student or faculty?
  7. TRAP! What does your wife want you to do? You are being tested, my friend. We are always being tested. It's possible the choice is not between a rifle and a game. It's more likely that the choice is between "spending time with your wife" or not spending time with your wife. Choose wisely. If your wife and mutual friends would be going to the game as well, then she can "show you off" while you are spending time with your wife. Or if she shoots too, then the rifle could represent spending time with your wife. Before actually making the decision, you might want to take her out to a movie and dinner at a nice restaurant and "discuss" the choice in depth, with references to spending time with her. If you pass "the test" then you might get the gun, get the game AND get lucky . . . . And of course, make no references to "the test." Epic Fail. We're all pulling for you!
  8. Here's a report that says the Department of Justice is considering getting rid of the ATF: Bombshell: DOJ Considering Elimination of ATF - Katie Pavlich - Townhall Conservative

  10. Wife!?? And HOW old were you when you did this????
  11. An afterthought, that shoulda come first: He might be fencing stolen property. That'll make the police really interested. It'd be one reason why 'the paperwork' wasn't forthcoming. You'd think he'd be smart enough not to do the transaction at his residence, but it sounds like smarts and him don't get along.
  12. This just screams out for the old saw: "I went to a street fight and a hockey game broke out." I wouldn't bring a GUN to a hockey game. You'd be under-armed with anything short of a hockey stick.
  13. I'd believe any one of these . . . five or six stories, but you used up all your credibility points by blendin' 'em all together.
  14. I imagine that all amounts to "communicating a threat" and "assault" but I'd call the local police and get a good read on it. Sounds like it's over the top. For all you know, your exerience isn't the only one, and the police may have other complaints on him. Would you want someone else to get hurt because he wasn't reported?
  15. If it's not true it ought to be!
  16. If a guy comes at me with a knife, I don't care whether or not he's mentally ill, he get's shot.
  17. One of each, in the order you list them. Buy the Ruger 10/22 and you're in a rifle at a low opportunity cost. Save a little more, get the next, either selling the Ruger, or keeping it, depending on how much fun, how much funds, your interests at the time. Any one of the three would sell easily at little loss, or perhaps a gain, unless you decide to keep 'em.
  18. In my mind, the molding of the leather to the gun is the mysterious part . . .
  19. Zombies Fear It. Reason enough.
  20. Going through a parking lot trying door handles??!! A burglar, almost by definition. An officer witnesses this and they get arrested. Whether she's a crack-head looking for pawnable items or what, doesn't matter. And yeah, they all have some stupid cover story to justify their conduct.
  21. Is there an LED conversion kit for the 3 D-cell maglite?
  22. The picture shows about six dead fish and a crab or two, with the fish rubbed on the windows. As "vandalism" goes, it's pretty pitiful and minimal. From the report you would think it was a dump-truck load of rotting fish that the Peta-ites would have to wade through. This is pretty tame. Maybe the perpetrators are a flock of seagulls.
  23. That's a real drag, 'cause you're still paying for it.
  24. Is there a formal complaint process? How much of it is real, written down rules? How many of the RSOs are volunteers with penile dimension issues?
  25. Get off my lawn! I'm going to Illinois.
