Employee Safe Commute (Parking Lot) Campaign

These two bills need to be scheduled for a vote this session without any fun and games. Legislators that play fun and games on these two bills to deny the bills a floor vote, in an attempt to curry favor with their big business masters, will ultimately face the wrath of the electorate. The big business masters that manipulate these legislators may be able to avoid the wrath of the electorate, but will ultimately face the wrath of consumers and their customers. Accountability for all. -
The promise of a grand-kid's visit is often enough to get grandparents to make the adjustments necessary. Grandparents don't think about kid-proofing a house the way a parent does, the reminders are for the safety of the grandchildren, which for most grandparents is a big motivator. In addition to the danger for the children, there is great civil and criminal liability if children have access to guns.

Zimmerman through his attorney is calling for a new judge due to conflict of interest with her husband's media job analyzing the case: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2012/04/zimmerman-seeks-new-judge-claiming-she-has-conflict/1?csp=34news#.T4yaltXUxn8 This was expected and was set in motion by the judge herself. -

The media whores are whining to have the court records unsealed so they can continue beating on Zimmerman in the media: http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/16/justice/florida-teen-shooting/ I'm thinking this case in particular is an argument for keeping the records sealed until the court trial. Notice how the braying and the shouting for Zimmerman's lynching has almost completely stopped. -
You reminded your dad to kid proof his house for the duration of the visit. You did him a responsible favor. Sounds like he didn't have a problem with it.

Trayvon lived in between his mom and his dad, who are separated & divorced. I imagine he played a good bit of mom versus dad to get the best deal for himself, and that neither parent knows the whole truth of where Trayvon's been and what Trayvon's done. They are about to find out and I doubt it will be pretty. -

If I am flat on my back with an adversary sitting on me, pounding my face with his fists and bashing my head on the concrete, and if the adversary is struggling with me for my undrawn and now uncovered weapon, I am in fear of my life. I will shoot him before I lose consciousness and before he shoots me with my own gun. If this is the scenario, then there is no jury that will convict. If we have to go through all the play-acting of a trial to mollify everyone to get to this conclusion, I don't like it, but so be it. Upon acquittal, I would file criminal and civil charges against those who attacked me and my reputation in the media. I am not a public person, and therefore the libel & slander, and fear for my life, and loss of freedom, and loss of income that arises from maliciously edited 911 calls and the wanted dead or alive bounty statements would be actionable to the tune of millions of dollars. There are plenty of lawyers that would be perfectly willing and eager to take 30 percent of that business. Someone else can speculate upon a different scenario with different details; this one, I think, is relatively accurate in description and outcome. Time and a court trial will tell. -

Mollifying the mob of peasants with torches and pitchforks that formed for this case will only postpone the inevitable conflicts. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will just go trolling for another case to inflame the masses. I'm thinking there is a real chance for an ugly ugly Spring Summer and Fall. If at least one metropolitan city center does not burn in riots ala the recent London riots, I will be very surprised. Keep your powder dry and your Eyes -- Eyes Open. -

I'm thinking Hassan has pled "Not Guilty." Might want to check that. I'm thinking Loughner is bug-nuts to the Nth degree. I'm thinking that they're going to determine he's insane, don't know if they have yet or not. Different cases than this one. -

The press conference has begun. The special prosecutor is charging Zimmerman with Second Degree Murder. This is the charge, not the conviction. -

At the end of 6.8 AR's link, be sure to see the Zimmerman Family Letter to the corrupt Attorney General Eric Holder where they -- Call. Him. Out. -- for doing nothing about the New Black Panther Party and its call for a lynch mob and for a bounty on Zimmerman. Here is 6.8 AR's link spelled out. It's pretty explicit: ******************************************************************************************************************** Zimmerman family challenges Holder on New Black Panthers, says no arrests ‘based solely on your race’ By Matthew Boyle - The Daily Caller 7:02 PM 04/09/2012 In a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder on Monday, obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller, a family member of George Zimmerman asked the nation’s top law enforcement officer why he has chosen to not arrest members of the New Black Panther Party for their rhetoric — some of which may fit the federal government’s definition of a hate crime — throughout the Trayvon Martin case. The family member believes the reason Holder hasn’t made those arrests is because he, like the members of the New Black Panther Party, is black. “I am writing you to ask you why, when the law of the land is crystal clear, is your office not arresting the New Black Panthers for hate crimes?†the family member wrote to Holder. “The Zimmerman family is in hiding because of the threats that have been made against us, yet the DOJ has maintained an eerie silence on this matter. These threats are very public. If you haven’t been paying attention just do a Google search and you will find plenty. Since when can a group of people in the United States put a bounty on someone’s head, circulate Wanted posters publicly, and still be walking the streets?†The New Black Panthers have issued ultimatums to the Sanford authorities, saying they want Zimmerman arrested “dead or alive.†They have placed a bounty on Zimmerman’s head, and have called for the building of an army of vigilantes to track him down and effect a citizen’s arrest. Most recently, the New Black Panther Party has called for violence. In a conference call recorded over the weekend, the militant group said it planned to “suit up and boot up†and prepare for the next stages of the “race war.†So far, however, no members of the New Black Panther Party have faced legal consequences. After citing the U.S. Department of Justice’s published definition of a “hate crime,†the Zimmerman family member wrote that there is “no other explanation†for Holder’s failure to authorize arrests of New Black Panther Party members, other than the fact that Holder himself is black. “I would surmise that, based on your own definition of a hate crime, you have chosen not to arrest these individuals based solely on your race,†the family member wrote to Holder, insisting too that the was “NO racial component†to the “tragedy†that occurred on the late February night when Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin. The Daily Caller has confirmed the identity of the Zimmerman family member but is withholding that person’s identity out of concern for the family’s safety. The family member also criticized members of Congress who have forcefully criticized police for failing to arrest Georgfe Zimmerman, as well as “the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Spike Lee, [and] President Barack Obama,†adding that “many†who have commented on the case without having a complete understanding of the facts “no doubt understand the laws of our great nation.†Noting President Obama’s White House event last week celebrating the 1960 novel “To Kill a Mockingbird,†Zimmerman’s family member drew a novel comparison to the American literary classic. “Strangely enough this case has a lot of parallels to those of Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird,’†the letter to Attorney General Holder read. “George Zimmerman has been treated much like Tom Robinson was, chastised for not being the right (or wrong) color and found guilty based on race factors. “You have the opportunity to act as Atticus [Finch] and do the right thing. Your boss would refer to this as a ‘teachable moment.’†DOJ spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler has not responded to The Daily Caller’s request for comment on why Holder hasn’t authorized the arrest of any New Black Panther Party members, nor has she answered whether that decision is related to Holder’s race. Without going to the grand jury, the case tops out. The district attorney may not prefer capital charges, such as murder. I read somewhere (and need to confirm) that under Florida law, without going through the Grand Jury, the highest charges that can be preferred would be . . . manslaughter? I wonder if that's going to satisfy the attention-whores Sharpton, Jackson and Crump. How WILL they conduct their media circus? -

A fatal flaw is occurring in the planned trial by public opinion foisted on us by Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Martin family lawyer Crump. The Martin v. Zimmerman case is becoming BORING to the general public. -
Which seems strange, as they usually call the doctor's office to confirm it.

Damn! This thread looks like it's going to top out over 1000 posts. And this is a relatively small issue. It's a good thing we're not trying to achieve world peace here or something. No one posting on this thread, as far as I know, is an eye-witness to the confrontation, nor a resident of the gated community in Sanford, Florida. Therefore, we are all getting any information we have through first-, second-, third- and fourth-hand reports, mostly through a clearly biased (one way or another) and flawed media. Talk about a dark, murky and distorted lens. Be damned glad you are not a Sanford, Florida-based police officer, investigator, district attorney, elected public official, grand juror, juror, or judge involved in this case. What a stinking mess. Everyone is bringing their own background, biases, opinions and point of view to this, and that includes me. Lord only knows how this is all going to sort out.
