  1. Two thoughts:   First:  There are plenty of people in this world, foreign and domestic, that don't like us and don't like our way of life. Some of them have been plotting against us for a long time, or a short time, or just harbor a bitterness that they have never acted upon. That, unfortunately, is just a fact.   Second: There are otherwise good people in this world, in this country, that think: "Oh, I don't think ANYONE could possibly be THAT EVIL, to do . . . ( . . . fill in the blank . . . ). That too, is unfortunate, as there are in FACT people in this world who are THAT EVIL. And, you don't have to go overseas and play in the sandbox to meet them.   A Third thought for free:  If you are too stupid, or pig-headed, or blind, to understand the first two facts, Bless your heart and GOD HELP YOU.

  3. Obama: I Ran So I Could Have 'Men With Guns' Around My Daughters   by Joel B. Pollak 27 Dec 2012, 5:58 AM PDT   President Barack Obama told ABC News' Barbara Walters that he ran for re-election because he wanted "men with guns" around as his daughters, Malia (14) and Sasha (11), begin dating boys. The interview was the first that the President and First Lady have given since Obama's re-election in November. It aired on Nightline on December 26.   In its published highlights, ABC News has drawn attention to the Obamas' comments about keeping the romance alive in their marriage, yet those remarks were followed by this exchange: Walters: I want to talk about the girls. we have been watching them grow up from little girls to young ladies. now, Malia recently got her first cell phone. do you want to see who she calls and who she texts?    Michelle Obama: i give my daughter at this age -- i give her a long rope. and there is monitoring because we have rules. But monitoring may be -- you never know when I'm going to walk in your room and i'm going to definitely ask you, who are you talking to and are you talking about school work? But...   Barack Obama: And they're not very good at lying. We joke sometimes about how Malia's getting to the age now, and boys start calling and, you know, sort of, I always talk about how one of the main incentives for running again was continuing Secret Service protection to have men with guns around at all times... The interview was apparently conducted prior to the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. In her preview of the interview on December 14, which aired on Good Morning America, Walters omitted President Obama's remark about "men with guns":  George Stephanopoulos: You also got to talk about Malia and Sasha, as well.    Walters: Well, Malia has gotten a cell phone. And the President said, one of the reasons that he says one of the reasons I'm glad that I was re-elected, I have the Secret Service to keep an eye on the girls, especially now that Malia is old enough for boys to be calling. Following the Sandy Hook shootings, Obama has led calls for sweeping policy changes, including gun control.       http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/12/27/Obama-I-Ran-So-I-Could-Have-Men-With-Guns-Around-My-Daughters

They write: “Assault weapons are disproportionately involved in murders with multiple victims, multiple wounds per victim, and police officers as victims.” Original source (page 2): Jeffrey A. Roth & Christopher S. Koper, “Impact Evaluation of the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act of 1994,” The Urban Institute (March 1997). In a Washington Post story, reporters David Fallis and James Grimaldi write that the percentage of firearms seized by police in Virginia with high-capacity magazines dropped significantly during the Assault Weapons Ban. That figure has doubled since the ban expired. In a letter to the editor in the American Journal of Public Health (pdf), Douglas Weil and Rebecca Knox explain that when Maryland imposed a more stringent ban on assault pistols and high-capacity magazines in 1994, it led to a 55 percent drop in assault pistols recovered by the Baltimore Police Department. A recent study by the Violence Policy Center finds that between 2005 and 2007, one in four law enforcement officers slain in the line of duty was killed with an assault weapon. A report by the Police Executive Research Forum finds that 37 percent of police departments reported seeing a noticeable increase in criminals’ use of assault weapons since the Assault Weapons Ban expired. 5. December 27, 2012   Here comes the Alinskyite Right   Thomas Lifson   David Gregory and Piers Morgan have both met the Alinskyite Right, and progressives in positions of power should take note. Both men are the targets of digital petition drives aimed at holding them to their own standards, and ridiculing them, invoking Rules 4 and 5 from Rules for Radicals:     4. "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules." If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.   5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon." There is no defense. It's irrational. It's infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.     This may be one of the first signs of the direction the conservative movement will take in President Obama's second term, and I take heart from the development.  Conservatives have read and assimilated the lessons in Rules, and with left thoroughly in control of the institutions of media, education and culture, a lot of petards are going to get a lot of hoisting in the next four years. Social media distribution makes it possible for funny or dramatic events to flow around the usual media cofferdams.   At the time Alinsky wrote, there was still something of a conservative establishment among a few of the commanding heights of the economy, government, culture, and society. But since the 1960s, the left has grabbed control of education, the nonprofit sector, the arts and culture, and the Democratic Party. The Right feels, and actually is, powerless in most of these areas. Thus, conservatives are beginning to understands that we must emulate the (successful) tactics of the left, in leveraging our ability to influence the major institutions shaping our lives.     http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2012/12/here_comes_the_alinskyite_right.html     Rules for Radicals:   http://www.amazon.com/Rules-Radicals-Saul-Alinsky/dp/0679721134/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1356621448&sr=8-1&keywords=rules+for+radicals
  6. 'It's a horrible, terrible, no-good, rotten idea.': Controversy as 200 Utah teachers to be given concealed weapons training in wake of Sandy Hook     By James Nye   PUBLISHED: 17:32 EST, 26 December 2012 | UPDATED: 17:37 EST, 26 December 2012 Utah lawmakers have reacted with contempt for a planned weapons training convention to be held for 200 Utah teachers tomorrow.   The Utah Shooting Sports Council has said they usually gather around a dozen teachers each year for training to carry concealed weapons but this year demand skyrocketed after the tuition was offered for free.   The powerful lobby claims that the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Connecticut has been the catalyst for the massive interest, but Carol Lear, a chief lawyer for the Utah Office of Education said that the move was a 'terrible idea.'   Clark Aposhian, chairman of the Utah Shooting Sports Council said 'They should lock down the classroom. But a gun is one more option if the shooter comes in.'   Arguing that teachers could be overpowered for their guns or misfire causing an accidental shooting, Lear said: 'It's a horrible, terrible, no-good, rotten idea.'   More than 200 Utah teachers are expected to pack a convention hall on Thursday for six hours of concealed-weapons training as organizers seek to arm more educators in the aftermath of the school shooting carried out by Adam Lanza in which 27 people, including 20 first-grade children died.   The Utah Shooting Sports Council said it normally gathers a dozen teachers every year for instruction that's required to legally carry a concealed weapon in public places. The state's leading gun lobby decided to offer teachers the training at no charge to encourage turnout, and it worked.   Organizers who initially capped attendance at 200 were exceeding that number by Wednesday and scrambling to accommodate an overflow crowd.   In Arizona, Attorney General Tom Horne has proposed amending state law to allow one educator in each school to carry a gun   'Schools are some of the safest places in the world, but I think teachers understand that something has changed - the sanctity of schools has changed,' Clark Aposhian, one of Utah's leading gun instructors, said Wednesday. 'Mass shootings may still be rare, but that doesn't help you when the monster comes in.'   Gun-rights advocates say teachers can act more quickly than law enforcement in the critical first few minutes to protect children from the kind of shooting that left 20 children and six adults dead December 14th at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.   In Arizona, Attorney General Tom Horne has proposed amending state law to allow one educator in each school to carry a gun.   Utah Office of Education officials have gone on the record to call the training 'A terrible idea'   Educators say Utah legislators left them with no choice but to accept some guns in schools. State law forbids schools, districts or college campuses from trying to impose their own gun restrictions.   'We're not suggesting that teachers roam the halls for a monster,' said Aposhian, chairman of the Utah Shooting Sports Council.   'They should lock down the classroom. But a gun is one more option if the shooter comes in.' A major emphasis of the required safety training is that people facing deadly threats should announce they have a gun and retreat or take cover before trying to shoot, he said.   Utah is among few states that let people carry licensed concealed weapons into public schools without exception, the National Conference of State Legislatures says in a 2012 compendium of state gun laws.   Utah educators say they would ban guns if they could and have no way of knowing how many teachers are armed.   Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2253497/Its-terrible-idea-Controversy-200-Utah-teachers-given-concealed-weapons-training-wake-Sandy-Hook.html#ixzz2GGEFv0jy
  7. December 26, 2012   You're in the Army Now ...or Should Be   By Ebben Raves   Militia: a word which has been twisted into something that has an entirely different meaning from when our country was founded and now with its every utterance, spits on the graves of those who died in our nation's birthing. Thanks to the Clintonite media after the Oklahoma City slaughter, just the mention of it conjures up images of rednecks dressed in camouflage, running around the woods with plans to kill everyone isight. A fringe element with who knows what on their minds -- but you can bet it is evil. It is a group that has little in common with the farmers, shopkeepers, and mechanics of Lexington, Concord and Battle Road.   But what really is the militia? According to United States Code, Title 10 USC § 311 -- Militia: composition and classes:   (a )  The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.     (b ) The classes of the militia are-    (1)  the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and   (2)  the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.     Who is the unorganized militia? To find out who the unorganized militia is, we need to look at the history of this country. In its early days, all males of military age were expected to have sufficient arms, ammunition, and supplies to answer the call to meet a threat. What were these threats? Prior to the Revolutionary War, they were savages, foreign incursion, and to some extent, wild animals. There are those who will argue that we no longer face those threats. Are they uninformed or willfully misleading when there is rampant crime committed by soulless monsters in urban areas and there are border areas of this country where Americans are advised not to tread?   The reason the Second Amendment was included in the founding documents was to ensure that the people could meet the threat of a standing army. Its writers knew from history that a standing army serves only the government, not the people. Since the form of government they provided rested the ultimate authority with the people, it was only fitting and proper that the people had a means to ensure their power was not usurped.   Although at this time, the 82nd Airborne Division is not conducting operations against American citizens on U.S. soil, this has not always been the case. In fact, George Washington himself led federal troops against citizens during the Whiskey Rebellion and MacArthur, Patton, and even Eisenhower led troops against the World War I veterans of the Bonus Army. There are other examples but the most recent have been committed by the new "standing army". What new "standing army", some might ask? Most readers of this article will have already connected the dots between the never ending "War on Terror", the NDAA, domestic drones, the arming of the various federal alphabet agencies, and the militarization of local law enforcement with equipment such as armor. In fact, our president even stated that we need a domestic security force that is as well equipped as the actual military. Add to that the "fusion centers", military training operations on our streets, and think tank war gaming against the TEA party, and you have a standing army that would be the envy of even the most totalitarian regimes. All of this is in the name of "protecting the people" when truthfully it is about protecting the federal government from the people. This is the same government that enforces laws selectively, encourages porous borders, voting fraud (franchise suppression), and the murder of children for their "safety" (see Waco), not to mention arming drug cartels with real automatic weapons.   Now the leviathan and its lackeys want to strip away the last of the powers of the true government, the people, "for safety's sake". Many, especially those who do not or cannot understand history, cheer this decision. Living in an emasculated bubble, they are content to contract out their security to others in the hope that evil will never reach them. For many of them, either with privately hired or government security or living in some gated community, it never will. If it does, though, it will shatter their world, making them cry out even more for a utopia that will never exist, others' views be damned. Some may rethink their views on security, but most will not, thanks to the difficulty overcoming the constant indoctrination of the statists. Many, as we have seen, even wish violence on those who disagree, committed by others on their behalf, of course.   Last week, the NRA proposed police in the schools. That is not the answer. It would only add to leviathan's bulk. This country has many competent, trained private citizens who take their security and the security of those around them to heart. Many are equipped in the same fashion that the colonists were and are held to a higher standard of retaining arms than many in government. Among these are former military and law enforcement who we have already entrusted with our security. Unorganized -- yes. Enemies of the people -- no. Call them what you will, sheriff's auxiliary, volunteers, or even "unorganized militia", states and localities that truly understand the value of these individuals and their duties as Americans will protect them from federal encroachment and encourage their participation in the safety of the community. Those who do not are on the side of government, not the people.   Ebben Raves is a veteran, constitutional activist, and speaker who teaches American history and has been a guest on several talk radio shows. 9. Political posturing that will go nowhere.
  10. And that's with a hat and coat on.   Then there are the amazing pictures of her on stage in all her glittery finery, surrounded by dancers, kicking her impossibly long legs, tossing her long blond locks around, belting out a song for 50,000 . . .   makes me feel really old . . .
  11. The RCBS Rock Chucker kit comes with the Speer Manual. It's a pretty good one. Read all the front material, TWICE, and read the pages on the calibers you own.   Really, this time around, for reloading equipment especially, it really is best to RTFM - Read the "Fine" Manual.

  15. That's great! Hendersonville?   I met her in a green room I was manning (which as you know is a small refuge backstage for performers) -- and had a chance to talk with her and her mum for about 15 minutes before other artists came in and joined us. Smart. Sweet. Well-raised. Thinking all the time. Growing. Learning.   She played Alan Jackson's "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning" that night. For Alan Jackson, who was being inducted into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame. Alan Jackson said it was the prettiest version of his song he ever heard. Taylor Swift was in elementary school on 9/11. Scared little girl watching planes hit buildings and people jumping to their deaths.   Well before and after 9/11, some of us go overseas to "defend the country." And you come back, and with all the stupidity and venality in the country, you wonder, "Why bother?"   Then, you become more aware of the quality of certain individuals. How much they grew and developed and succeeded and influenced over the time you were gone. For me, Taylor Swift is iconic in that manner. I appreciate her music and her songwriting talent and her curiosity about the world around her and her passion to please her millions of young fans and the great good service she provides them by showing them the way forward through the minefield our culture has become. I appreciate her known charity -- $4 MILLION to the Country Music Hall of Fame, Millions to flood and tornado relief -- and I appreciate her unknown charity, hours of one on one performing and appearances for desperately ill children.    Yeah, I'd like to think I'm a Taylor Swift "bodyguard" -- defender if you will -- of her and hardworking, smart, talented, compassionate youth JUST LIKE HER. Your daughter perhaps. My niece.  A real part of the country worth defending.
  16.   Right hip, three o'clock, high, canted forward.
  17.   Now, now, you are talking about America's Daughter here . . .

  19. Now, why would I post this on a gun forum?   http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mejrfaAThW1qb86xno1_500.jpg
  20. And say . . .   "That's OK dear. I'll sit with you, and we can talk together."   Fixed that for you.
  21. There's a lot of folks who feel pretty strongly that The Obammunist didn't win the election outright, that there was industrial strength "Chicago Style" voter fraud on an unprecedented scale. It hasn't been challenged, so he's going to be re-inaugurated as president.   What it does mean, though, and you can feel it, is that a bare majority of the country can't stand him and isn't interested in working with him. That suppressed majority is in position to create much legislative trouble for him and his dictatorial aims. Much of this trouble will act out in the State Legislatures, which in many States are now Republican/Conservative/Libertarian to a very great degree. Thirty or more State Governors and their legislatures will fight him tooth and nail, and the harder The Obammunist pushes, the harder they will push back. You can hear the noise now in the various legislatures with Right to Work, With 10th Amendment Sovereignty, with refusal to State-support Obamacare, with broader 2nd Amendment and Concealed Carry stances. All hope is not lost for opposing an increasingly Tyrannical federal government led by a Dictator in Waiting.
  22.   What is it? And, who's to say? Good fortune might be right around the corner . . .
  23.   Create an additive that makes Hoppes Number Nine smell like roses . . .
  24.   I'd "Like" this, but I'm over quota for the day . . .   "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" addresses this in a science fiction format. At the time, it was a thinly veiled reference to The Communists and their insidious infiltration of our country.   Communism is, of course, a lie. It is sweet sounding lie that allows a small cadre of power-hungry people to garner Unaccounted-for Power. We need not dance around the issue, the God-Emperor Barack Hussein Obama is A Communist, and a front-man for even more insidious Communists, intent on Unaccounted-for Power.
