"Parking Lot" Bill Codified in LexisNexus
QuietDan replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
When all is said and done, I wonder how much behavior will actually change based on this law? I imagine a lot of folks were just plain ignoring the law when it was otherwise. -
My Springfield Armory EMP 9mm every-day-carry is named "Sting" after Bilbo Baggins' sword in the Lord of the Rings.

The key word is "Mob" and mobs don't necessarily have a color. Mobs are also unorganized and would fall in front of organized resistance. It's actually more "Takers" versus "Makers." The Makers will take the Takers and it won't even be a fair fight.

Shame on you for treading on our delicate emotions like that! Shame!!

I really love my SR-556 and if I had the cash I'd pick up the SR-762 in a heartbeat!

2 Thessalonians 3:10 "For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat." The biblical verse says "would not work" not "cannot work." I have no problem whatsoever feeding the widows & orphans, and the injured among us. Not a problem. I have a serious problem supporting those who could work and choose not to. A very serious problem with that.

I imagine you know that you can buy, direct from Sig, an ambi thumb safety for the P238?

This type of crap is really pissing me off. I think there is a fundamental problem with this "zero tolerance" bullshit and it's this: Any time you have a government, and a school district is a government, you have three functions, Legislative - the school board, Executive - the school administration and Judicial. Right now, in most school systems, the Judicial function is being performed by the Executive. That is a prescription for TYRANNY. Zero Tolerance is a hateful, demagogic, tyrannical concept. School districts need to set up an independent Judicial function. Staff it with parents or grandparents, retired administrators, and former school board members, or such. Otherwise, stupid crap like this is going to end up in the regular court system, as our system of government calls for the opportunity for redress.

Welcome from Smyrna! Used to live in Colo. Springs. Two of my Dad's Air Force tours, and one of my own, lived near Chelton Rd and Pikes Peak Blvd.

I unfortunately do not have much sympathy for the guy who merely plays the piano in a whorehouse. He knows he plays a piano and therefore isn't directly involved in the whorehouse activities upstairs, but he also knows he's playing it in a whorehouse. He's done the calculus. He's making more money playing the piano IN the whorehouse; he also knows he must put up with the occasional police raid and all the other complications from being IN the whorehouse. He always had the opportunity to go play a piano someplace else for lesser wages. -
If I was a manufacturer, I sure would be happy with a pre-sold run as long as this . . . I am looking forward to the pricing -- which might be adjusted downwards as the run gets longer??

I'd like the House of Representatives to take a stand and BE what the House of Representatives is supposed to be, keeper of the purse-strings, our immediate voice in government. I'd like to see continuing resolutions for the essential federal departments, Department of Defense, Department of Veterans Affairs, etc, etc. I'd like to see the EPA and the Department of Education NOT have a continuing resolution. We've got a totally out of control and arrogant dictator instead of a president and he needs to be hauled up short by his oysters. De-fund fuel for Air Force One and de-fund his damn golf games. He's lording himself with our money, he's paying his cronies with our money, and at least for a little while he needs to be told NO when he comes to mommy and daddy for spending money. We're always talking about how big and wasteful the federal government is, perhaps big parts of it need to be SHUT DOWN until the budget balances. Two or three years of no EPA and a few of the other wasteful departments and I doubt most of us would even notice it except to sing glory hallelujah. -

Mothballing isn't necessarily the end of the road. It stops the clock and minimizes the cost of airframe support. Aircraft go into mothballs, and can come back out again. The same with ships. There will be a time and a place. -
To make a very clear point here: It is TRUE that a leading Egyptian newspaper has made the connection between Obama and the Muslim Brotherhood. The contents of the Egyptian newspaper's story MAY BE TRUE or MAY NOT BE TRUE. That is a matter for analysis, and said newspaper needs to present more facts. Regardless, the Egyptian street certainly seems prepared to believe it to be true. Portions of the American street may be prepared to believe it to be true as well. If those perceptions become established, it will then not really matter whether or not it is actually true.

The NRA silence is Strategic. They wait for everyone to calm down and let cooler heads prevail. Otherwise, they just get shouted down by stupid, emotional people.

So, any reports of allah-hu akbar shouts??

Police BRAWL: Black Men Beat Up; White Cops Caught on Camera
QuietDan replied to a topic in General Chat
It's DETROIT. The good guys are outnumbered. Last one out turn out the lights. They're talking about bulldozing it and starting over. God destroyed Sodom because he couldn't find ten good men in it. (cue the libertarian fit . . . Now . . .) -
Pistol preferred, then shotgun. AR-15 would be a whole lot better than nothing, especially if it was the only gun in the house.
