I am finally going to weigh in. This is my own take, but as a pretty educated individual of the CJ system, and a conservative. An individual on their own property should not be ordered into their home for observing their protectors at work. Nor should officers fear the camera, in fact they should welcome it. However the amount of ridiculous lawsuits against officers for every little thing have made officers fear for their livelihood and protective. All that being said, I believe officers should be able to exercise control of a scene without infringing other citizen's rights. The entire CJ system is misunderstood and looses the PR fight. I remember a time when officers were thought of as pillars of the community that you could go to for advice and directions, now people avoid them.

That has been my experience as well, very fine people.

I appreciate that offer, and the resources! I will start plugging through it in a week or so once I have a handle on my new job - it is taking up most of my time at the moment, but this is something I always wanted to do.

Wow... I might have to take a look at it and see if I can study enough to struggle through. I do not learn from studying test booklets and that's how it was presented to me in the past. I learn through reason and doing, and would love to know more about it. Thanks!

No code? For any level? I remember when they took it away for a subset license for 2 meter. Maybe I should give it a try...

I think so sometimes, but I just heard our power is back on. Sound like the trip to get groceries yesterday was not in vain.

A Rochester, NY woman was arrested for filming police during a traffic stop and not going inside when police ordered her to do so. Anyone else seen the story? http://www.13wham.com/news/local/story/woman-arrested-shoots-video-of-traffic-stop/r6Z4v_17V0uckYqBOMIsGg.cspx

I would love to do ham, but I've always been intimidated by the tests, and code seems to be beyond me.

Lol it comes from to much time on the radio in the military. When I left after the second tour they announced I was "leaving the net." Were you thinking amateur radio?
-
Thanks. So far it has been good working and being down here.

Don't say that. In my experience it is best to let nature do her thing, lest she become vengeful.

Oh I missed that about the car! Sorry, that's a crappy way to start the day.

Anything that is legal an pays the bills? Lol. Right now, I am finishing up a security job and transitioning to using all that edumakation to teach some. I am working on a career in law enforcement if I can get there.

We are apparently in the middle of it. It went out at 2045 or so and is still off. G/f thinks storm lantern and multiple flashlights excellent idea, not that she has been that critical of then to begin with. Was fun reading my kindle by storm lantern last night, although the battery powered light on the case for it was easier on the eyes. BTW: heavy tree damage and traffic lights out throughout Knoxville according to what I saw and heard on the radio this morning. Clinton Highway is all kit up from Metler Drive to Edgemoore.

Thanks everyone. I really like it here, but it all depends on if I can find a career around these parts. For now it's a financial struggle, but better than what there is back in WV. Where else can I have a city to do the city stuff in, hit mountains, lakes, and trails all within an hour? It is great to me.

USPSA Authorized Pistol List
Paladin132 replied to Paladin132's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Interesting. How does this relate to three gun? -
We watched it for about an hour and a half and were unimpressed. How did alien recon planes miss 200 people walking out on roads? I may try again next week but if it doesn't hook us then we probably won't be.

USPSA Authorized Pistol List
Paladin132 replied to Paladin132's topic in Competitive Shooting Sports
Ok, I saw that, but in a different place. Sometimes it's best NOT to read something on a smart phone for fear of becoming more lost. The list looked like the only list. Maybe tomorrow I can hijack a computer to find out. -
http://www.uspsa.org/rules/production_list.php I didn't see Kimber, nor a generic 1911 listed. I'm looking at it on my phone so maybe I am missing it but I thought I would ask - are my 1911s a no-go?

Gotchya. I am the out o'towner. I am seriously going to have to go next month. It was murder watching, but I picked up on some stuff... I'll probably look like the special kid when I finally go.
-
Where did you come from, if you do not mind me asking?
-
Guys, the folks out at ORSA are super friendly. I did not get to shoot as I was bringing a buddy and would not be able to stick around long enough, but I am already budgeting for some ammo for next month. Ken, thank you sir for welcoming me and answering questions. I really appreciate you posting this up here and squaring me away. I have GOT to get out there for some fun, I am sure I will bring some good comic relief to what you guys are used to. I cannot thank you enough!

What time is the estimate to finish up tomorrow? I think I will come by and I'm debating trying my hand.
-
My condolences as well. No friend can be truer than a good dog. I have had a few over the years, and still miss them from time to time. Hope that the kids are holding up alright.

Thanks gang... I may come and watch this one, probably don't have that much 12 gauge laying around but I would like to see it and get an idea of what to bring next time.
