  1. I own both an Ed Brown and the Valor (mine's the matte stainless finish). Both guns are great and extremely accurate. While I don't do any benchrest shooting with handguns, reports have showed the Valor to be one of the most accurate 1911's made, production or semi-custom. I know if I do my part, they both produce one ragged hole in paper from 15 yards. The price point is my issue with Dan Wesson. I have a CBOB and the Valor and both are terrific guns that I was able to purchase new for ~$1200. The black finish guns are approaching 1600+ and I have a hard time buying a production gun at that price point when you can have a semi custom for slightly more. In terms of fit and finish, they are both on par with each other. If you can get the Valor for 1500 or less, I'd suggest it - you won't be disappointed. Any more than that and I'd lean towards the Ed Brown.
  2. That would be cool. I'd like to check out this range as well.
  3. I would suggest the CZ 527. I have one that will put 10 rds covered by a quarter at 100 yards. The single set trigger of the CZ's is awfully nice for a range toy too.
  4. Graycait, No, I had a CZ armorer do the work for me. The SAO trigger was a huge improvement, especially since I use it as a range gun only. I'd recommend it definitely!
  5. I added the CZ competition hammer/sear and switched to a SAO trigger on my 75B. Made a world of difference.
  6. Congrats! 1911's are addicting...
  7. You took the class at CCA today, right? If so, I was the one in class shooting next to you! You did pretty well out to 7 yards with a new gun.
