  1. Just curious I know the state will do whatever they damn well please but heres the law

    (l) The department shall issue a permit to an applicant not prohibited from obtaining a permit under this section no later than ninety (90) days after the date the department receives the application. A permit issued prior to the department's receipt of the Tennessee and federal bureaus of investigation's criminal history record checks based upon the applicant's fingerprints shall be subject to immediate revocation if either record check reveals that the applicant is not eligible for a permit pursuant to the provisions of this section.

What recourse does a person have if they dont have the card in their hands after 90 days.

  2. I was flipping through a Shotgun News yesterday at work because I was bored. I saw a lot of small type under a lot of ak, fn fal, and other foreign military style parts that said "this counts as 1 US compliant part". What is up with that? Im not much into rifles execpt my AR whis is US made anyway. Could someone please explain the law in laymans terms for me.

  3. I think that I saw somewhere that the handgun permits section is being moved to be under the TN. State Trooper division. This was because of all of the complaints about taking so long. Has anyone else heard this?

If I remember correctly the FBI cut the DOS off from the database because the dept that does the background checks for HCPs was not law enforcement or something stupid like that so TN put that dept under the TBI to circumvent the problem. But now they were cut off from the database for so long they are badly backed up.

  4. In Blount County, when an officer runs a license plate the Blount County 911 tells the reporting officer if the tag comes back to a registered HGP. The officer doesn't not need to ask for that info it is given to them.

Now that's just not right. I would be severely pissed if my wife got harassed, and pulled out of the car if she were driving mine, though she don't have a HCP.

  5. OK I am man enough to admit I didn't read thoroughly

I read (A) ( © and saw "The belief of danger is founded upon reasonable grounds"

But I didn't read the following paragraph which pretty much says if they break in you are A-ok to drop them.

    (B) (1) Notwithstanding § 39-17-1322, a person who is not engaged in unlawful activity and is in a place where the person has a right to be has no duty to retreat before threatening or using force against another person when and to the degree the person reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful force.

    (2) Notwithstanding § 39-17-1322, a person who is not engaged in unlawful activity and is in a place where the person has a right to be has no duty to retreat before threatening or using force intended or likely to cause death or serious bodily injury, if:

    (A) The person has a reasonable belief that there is an imminent danger of death or serious bodily injury;

    (B) The danger creating the belief of imminent death or serious bodily injury is real, or honestly believed to be real at the time; and

© The belief of danger is founded upon reasonable grounds.

© Any person using force intended or likely to cause death or serious bodily injury within a residence, dwelling or vehicle is presumed to have held a reasonable belief of imminent death or serious bodily injury to self, family, a member of the household or a person visiting as an invited guest, when that force is used against another person, who unlawfully and forcibly enters or has unlawfully and forcibly entered the residence, dwelling or vehicle, and the person using defensive force knew or had reason to believe that an unlawful and forcible entry occurred.

I read (A) (B) © and saw "The belief of danger is founded upon reasonable grounds"

But I didn't read the following paragraph which pretty much says if they break in you are A-ok to drop them.

  6. presumed to have held a reasonable belief of imminent death or serious bodily injury to self, family, a member of the household or a person visiting as an invited guest,

I am not a lawyer by any stretch but that word REASONABLE can be very loosely interpreted. When your rear is in the defendants seat. If you shoot an unarmed intruder you could be in for a world of hurt especially in front of a 12 member jury that wonders why you killed an unarmed person.

  7. Tungston I will Volunteer to do it if you like. Heres a good start

  8. Just for those that asked... I went to Belk tonight the lady didnt say anything but looked a little concerned as I was trying on dress shirts leaving them unbuttoned and reaching my right arm up. She didnt seemed concerned about the gun but curious as to wtf I was doing. Belk has some nice stuff but pricey...thanks VERO1. Burlington is also very good has alot of big mens stuff.

  9. Well... ****, Piss, ****, ****, ********er, and Mother****er. The 7 words you cant say on TV it wasn't is language that made me like him, but it was the fact he was a hardcore realist. "Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?" " If you want to lower crime in big cities, give them all the guns and drugs they want and build a fence around the city and wait a few days."

He fought for the first amendment which allows us to speak up and fight for the second.

  10. I am I Guess you can say an odd shaped guy I am 6'1" 354lb 48"waist 58"chest. So I am equally muscular as I am fat. I can wear a 3x t-shirt but button down shirts to use as cover garments are a B**ch to find. I am broad across the shoulders so a 4x fits everywhere except it is tight across the back. But a 5x looks like a tent. So for a cover garment I would need a 4xlt or 5xlt. I don't care too much for vests as they scream this guy has a gun, or gimmicks like thunderwear. I just want a shirt to put over a t shirt unbuttoned to cover my gun.

Anyone have any suggestions on where I can find good stuff cheap? The big and tall places will rape you on prices.

  11. I have a compensated .357 3" barrel M971 that has seen a lot of rounds and has never failed. My wife don't really want it anymore she has lost her interest in guns. I am looking to trade it for a new carry gun.

  12. Since neither the Mall or Pennys has had the nads to respond to my E-mails I will out them here.

About 2 weeks ago my wife and I went to the Fort Henry Mall and parked outside of JC Pennys. Upon entering we noticed the sign on the door said they were open until 10pm. So we shopped and had a nice dinner at Garfields and proceeded to leave. When we arrived at the entrance to Pennys at 9:50 the doors were closed and locked. I tapped on the door and said "it's not 10 yet we are parked outside the Memorial Blvd side of the store." The teen looking cashier pointed to a door to the right, just outside the door to Pennys. Well this door was a crappy looking Maintaince hall that led to an exit door that put us in a dark truck dock area on the totally wrong side of the building. We walked around the corner and went inside an unlocked entrance instead of going all the way around the building as they were still open. As we were walking through the manager was making the announcements that the store was closing. I asked her why the mall door was locked if they were still open. She responded "because the mall is closed" to which I replied but there are people that are still in the mall that need to get back through to get to their cars." She just shrugged her shoulders and walked away from me.

The next day I wrote Pennys corporate customer service and explained what happened and asked if it was common practice to potentially endanger their customers lives. I also wrote the Mall customer service and security asking since they were the property owners/landlords if they could make Pennys leave the mall entrance at least partially open to allow exit out of the mall.

2 weeks now no response. I'm just thankful I was carrying and more thankful that were no meth heads hanging around the truck docks as mall security is usually all at the movie theater controlling the teenie boppers on Friday nights.

  13. 150 rds of .223 selling for $59?.Son of a .....:)

    $59 is a fair price

$59 for 150rds = 39cents a round. That seems to be a little below average price than the mail order places for re manufactured or surplus ammo.

    $32 for 150rds = 21cents per round...needless to say I am happy.
