  1. Cute kids. Shame they're going to be raised in that environment. I hope they can rise above it as they get older.
  2. If you're paying $190 for 55gr bullets and $40 for primers, you are getting screwed. Buy primers in lots of 5 or 10k and try and go in with someone and you can cut the hazmat/shipping cost. You can get down to the $25 range if you try. I'm reloading for approx. 13.5 cents per round. If you're reloading for cost savings, I think you'd be better off buying in bulk. 5k primers, minimum 8 lbs powder, minimum 1k bullets, etc. I just bought 40lbs of powder to cut my costs. I figure it will eventually get used and I would've bought it anyways at a higher price (albeit slower pace). Check out what David has. There are a lot of other good places out there too. I've had good luck with RMR for bulk bullets.
  3. Exactly. I doubt they run articles about everyone who's ever lived in N'ville and moved away. It fits in their anti gun agenda, the survey is a further slap in the face.
  4. What does a negligent shooting by a felon in Florida have to do with Tennessee? More anti-gun BS from the Tennessean.
  5. I've read that and can respect it.......except for the fact that a lot of the stuff they offer isn't sold by any dealers in TN, especially at those prices. Their Eagle rifle bags @ $49 is an awesome deal....too bad you'll never find them for anywhere close to that price locally
  6. Which is why canebreaker is just over the TN line......Still, pretty annoying that they don't ship in TN.
  7. This story is obviously false. Everyone knows guns are verboten on campus.
  8. Considering they take fingerprints, I'd expect they have an idea of the number of people. This guy isn't going in easily. I hope he doesn't take a cabin owner or LEO with him.
  9. No. There is a list on their website. Right under it is this: http://www.gtdist.co...estrictions.gif Sad face indeed....
  10. Stores routinely sell Glocks for $489-549ish, depending on model. I generally find a good local FFL through the gunbroker search (someone clued me into that a few months ago) or I've used good stores in the past. One thing to consider.....if that is their OTD price, there's not much of a markup considering it has taxes and background figured into it. They're selling the pistol for about $450 before taxes. That's really not a bad price considering you're supporting a good local shop. It's when places jack up the price that annoys me.
  11. Holy crap, they really do make a single shot AR
  12. I'm willing to bet that it is a semiautomatic.....however since it is a DPMS, one never knows.....
  13. Check this guy out - summitgunbroker.com
  14. I thought the ATL thing had been happening for a couple months now. FWIW, my last stamp was sent at the end of Sept, cashed the 11th of Oct and didn't go pending until 21 Oct.
  15. Lol you must be new to the NFA. Settle in for the wait. NFA isn't for the impatient. Generally you wait about a month for the check to be cashed/pending. There are no firm times.....lots of people seem to have different timelines for the cashing/pending. But the wait times are pretty accurate. Once it goes pending, you have at least a 5 month wait right now.
  16. If you looked at a compensator at the Spikes table, you looked at their offering. Not the BC. For its intended purpose, the BC works very well. As a matter of fact, they're so popular that you could buy one and try it. If you didn't like it, you would get most if not all of your money back.
  17. Footballbat stupid
  18. I guess. I've done it myself. I never put much thought into it. Now, I doubt I'll ever go to another show unless given a good reason. There's just something that strikes me as wrong......these people should be all about propagating gun rights, not restricting them. "You can't carry a gun in here......but let me sell you this here gun..."
  19. LOL "B/c that's where the money is" - that still doesn't really answer the question. I need to eat, that's where food is......but I won't go into a restaurant that restricts my carry. I'll go eat somewhere else. So why do gunshows get a pass on this? They're doing the same thing the other places are, except I think it's worse and very hypocritical.
  20. Quick question. I've never put much thought into it until now........lots of places don't let you carry. Most people choose not to go into that business. They've even come up with little business cards for the manager/proprietor telling them why they're losing business. Those same people will go to a gunshow that restricts carry and not blink an eye. Why? What is the difference b/w a restaurant that restricts concealed carry and a gun show that does the same?
  21. Check into Ronin Combat Strategies
  22. You're not going to lose enough velocity or accuracy to notice a difference. I'm not a big fan of VSBRs but 10 and up, you'll be fine. The $200 sucks but once you do it, it's not like your stuck with only an SBR. You can stick whatever upper you want on there and be fine.
  23. Another added benefit is you have no expiration date on your license as AD military.
  24. That's definitely not true....ish It depends on the unit's MTOE and excess. Typically, the pistols are reserved for SNCO's and O's. Depending on how many they have, they can be pushed down to the gun teams. My last unit, there were 2 in the entire troop. You can guess which O and E got them to walk around the FOB with. My first unit, we had a ton of them. I signed for one when I was a gunner and when I became a TL, I gave it to my gunner. Here's a fun fact. Last tour, I had one of my soldier's going to the SOY board. Shooting a qual with the M9 and dis/assembly was one of the events. My 1SG and CO both refused to let my SPC practice, use, or touch their pistols (remember, there were only two). Luckily the ODA that was at our FOB was ****ing cool (like they usually are) and let us use theirs on their range.
  25. From what I've heard/read. They're really not my thing.
