Customer service disappointment- Palmetto State Armory
scoutfsu replied to Major Kong's topic in General Chat
They're like Botach.....some have good experiences with them.....up until they don't. Although I don't think they're as bad, they're not worth the potential problems IMO. One surefire way I've seen to get them to respond to you is to start a complaint thread in the Feedback section of Arfcom. They may not answer phones or email but they're on that stuff most ricky-tik . -
Army to field new MRAP-W (Walker) Despite Budget Setbacks

Greatest satire blog ever. -
SPENDEXes do and will damage/ruin barrels. That is a fact. Putting 1k of rounds through a barrel in a couple hours is drastically different than doing it in a year or months. Round counters are a benefit but so is taking note to the firing cycle of a barrel. It's not "this barrel has 10k through it, time to replace".... Gaging a barrel is an inexact science and a majority of 45B/reset people do it wrong. Even with the A1 barrels, you can and will burn them out....especially with the shooting packages SOCOM does. I hate SPENDEXes for the waste of potential training. It disgusts me on a fiscal and shooter level. It's government bureaucracy at it's worst.

Wow, that's football bat, two boys in the woods type stupid

It depends on the quantity you need. You are correct, it's almost always cheaper to buy in bulk. I was about to buy 3500 5.56 and 3750 9mm from Montana Gold for $597 last night b/c I was thinking the same thing.....I decided that I didn't have $600 to spend on reloading right now, so I bought 2k/2k for $359. I'm happy with it. If you're looking for larger quantities/cheaper price then it's hard to beat places like MG. For lesser quantities, this fits the bill.

We'll find out. Just ordered 2k in 9mm and 2k in 5.56

Good prices but I've never heard of them

Customer service disappointment- Palmetto State Armory
scoutfsu replied to Major Kong's topic in General Chat
Lol, it's not terrible if you can sort the wheat from the chaff. I only go into certain areas there....the Equipment Exchange regularly. They constantly catch bad feedback and they're infamous for deleting threads in their little subforum. ETA: The one time I've ordered from them, was for 3 lowers. I had a similar situation and received zero response from anything. Shockingly enough, they shipped out two weeks later to the FFL....but it wasn't worth the aggravation of unanswered calls and emails. -

At least this post won't disappear like the ones on Arfcom do.....and their legion of followers won't jump down your throat. They have serious, systemic problems that they continually deny and shift blame for. They are their own worst enemy. -
Wow! Isn't this totally cool? (creative edit. :p)

Negative. He and his supporters are just the type to manipulate the flag for their uses. The same guy that wouldn't wear an American flag lapel pin or hold his hand over his heart.....yet now he'll alter it to push his agenda. If any other politician did it, I'd be just as angry. They are slickly misrepresenting this country's flag. His "artistic" representation and the meaning behind it is clear. ####ing politics........... -
Cool. Appreciate the read. What about the popped primers? That's a pretty big deal, especially on a duty/defense gun when it's locked up. It's a major sign of overpressure and the precursor for a catastrophic on you gun, no?
-
How much velocity are you giving up by having a chamber reamed to 5.56 or even fractionally beyond? SBR's have been killing people effectively for years. I don't think I understand your position on them. Where are you saying they're becoming ineffective? And IMO, popped primers from too tight of a barrel are a pretty big deal. That typically means the pressure is far too high. What happens when you get some bullet setback? The combination could prove disastrous. I wonder why he didn't name the brands with out of spec chambers? Maybe people like Pat Rogers have been on to something when they say certain brands are problem guns.

I don't hate the President. I distrust his motives and don't like his policies. I don't like his and his supporters attempt to subvert the American flag for their political games. -

No kidding. Apathetic attitudes in this country......that is the American flag they are subverting. That should make everyone angry. eta: The intent is clear. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate, it's obvious what they're trying to invoke. -
It has nothing to do with that. It has everything to do with perpetuating unfounded rumors. If repeated enough, they take a life of their own. No one is being rude, no one is pouncing on you. It's about being accountable for your words. Posting incorrect rumor is irresponsible. There's no reason to get upset.
-
Ok, I'll bite. Why would you toss something out for us to chew on when it's obviously incorrect and ridiculous? How about not pushing out silly, unfounded rumors?
-
It's not something I would be worried about GDG.
-
GDGlock, I'm sorry but that's one of the more ridiculous theories I've heard regarding qualification. Do you qualify for every caliber you might or might not own in the future? The same qualifying for a revolver or semiauto? If you carry a .44 snubbie for an EDC, practice carrying that caliber might do someone good.....not financially of course. That's far too much gun for this guy. My reply isn't specifically to the OP, it's more to the qual process in general. I get why people use .22's......I just don't agree with a majority of the reasons. A .22 does save money. A .22 does save recoil.....and I think that's why most use it. They're worried they won't qual with a full size caliber even though they're willing to carry that full size caliber. I think saving $20-40 bucks is a poor choice in the long run compared to the benefits of using it for qualification.
-
Too many is more than one. They take the lightest recoiling pistol they can so they can make the qualification standards. They don't qualify with their carry weapon/caliber. Too many, again, don't practice enough to become proficient....they get their HCP and shoot maybe once or twice a year - if ever. My FIL is one. He thinks he will magically rise to the occasion and he will be safe just because he's carrying. You revert to your lowest level of training. .22 absolutely, 100% has it's place in training. But I don't think it should become the default replacement, especially with pistols. For those that take .22's to this class to save money, what does that save you? $20? A WalMart value pack? I would argue that you're losing out on practice time, especially since this is a class. On the flip side, if you already do a lot of shooting, then rock on with that .22....but not in a qualification class.
-
My wife did it w/ my G35. Too many people shoot w/ .22's for the wrong reasons.

I have a question about being denied a purchase.
scoutfsu replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You're making a mountain out of a molehill. It is a little embarrassing to be delayed and/or denied but far from humiliating and ashamed. As others have stated (and has happened to me) false denials happen. They will get you fixed right up. You have a HCP, so it's not like you can't pass the check. I would look strongly into the UPIN route. I know I will. -

Jesus, all that drama over being delayed? -
No but from what I've read (for what little that's worth) they are a good pistol. I believe mags were/are hard to get hold of and it never really caught on but word on the internet is that they're pretty handy.
-
Also, IMO a 9mm AR is better in thought than in practice. I also had a MRP 9mm conversion w/ a dedicated 9mm RRA lower. If you're looking for AR alternatives that are cheaper to shoot, you can't go wrong with the S&W 15-22.
-
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Please, learn from my horrible, horrible experience. I was even local to those hacks at the time.....mine was the one that took Glock mags. I took a bath when I sold it If you're going to get a 9mm AR, stick with a known quality like Colt...possibly RRA or CMMG.
