  1. I'd be interested in that refferal code. Done a lot of research and really like this kholster so I want to try one.
  2. <<<my policy is if you do not want me to bring my licensed and registered handgun in your store,>>> Good response, but just a little adjustment. No registration of guns in Tennessee.
  3. <<<<If that doesn't work, I hit the brakes just so my brake lights come on (without actually slowing down) and watch the front end of their cars nose dive. Afterwards slowing down to a snails pace until they pass.>>>> LOL that's exactly what I do right there. If it's at night, I got work lights on the back of my truck that I can turn on from the inside. That'll do it too.
  4. I thought it was posted on another thread that there was no law against , say, having a couple drinks at home and then carrying in public as long as you're not drunk. Kinda like driving after a couple drinks. Still legal as long as not drunk. So which is it?
  5. Just for everybodies information, Cades Cove loop road is closed till May 21. You can still use the campground and picnic area, but the loop is closed.
  6. One of my favorite memories is camping at Cades Cove campground. Got up early one morning and it was still a little foggy. I got out my banjo and was picking a little when about 10 deer came wandering through about 30 foot from me and stopped for about 10 minutes liked they were listening to me. Dang, I wish I had a picture of that.
  7. I heard people praising Davis and Tanner for their no vote and I immediately thought the same thing. That the dems didn't need their vote and gave them a pass, especially because they're in conservative Tennessee. If I remember right there were 13 dems that didn't vote for it. Not sure about Tanner. Maybe he voted no to help the dem thats gonna run in his place.
  8. Sorry, I should've worded a little better. It is more of an older generation that attends this get together, but any one is welcome and there are kids there regularly.
  9. I wouldn't have said anything if he hadn't been an old friend. I wanted to get a feel about how he felt about it. I thought there could've been a chance he put it up to satisfy other people, or some kind of committee meeting outcome, or any number of things. But no. He just an anti.
  10. I was at a local get together where there was the sign "No weapons allowed". I've known the guy for a long time and privately ask his feelings on it telling him I have an HCP. He said he doesn't want anything like that around the kids. It is mainly an older generation thing but there are some kids there. Heck, one of the main reasons I carry is for my kids. Now I didn't bother to argue with him as he seems set in his ways. I also didn't bother to tell him he was improperly posted. The funny thing is the very next day in the same building there was a gun safety class going on. Go figure.
  11. Yes388650%No385250% Over the top
  12. Should guns be allowed in areas where alcohol is served?Choice Votes Percentage of 6839 Votes Yes308145%No375855% Wow, thats plus about 100 yes votes than when I saw it a couple hours ago. Keep it up.
  13. I apprciate everybodies help with this. If it wasn't for you guys it could've turned out differently. I really do believe that the majority of the people here in Blount County are pro gun and wouldn't want this poll to tell otherwise. AE-35, I believe you're right. Too many yankees have moved here trying to bring their views that don't jive with the locals.
  14. Poll has ended Do you favor passage of the new guns in bars law? 55.7-Yes 44.3-No Number of votes cast: 287 Looks like we caught this one just in time.
  15. Do you favor passage of the new guns in bars law? votes cast: 256 WTG guys. I'm not really subscribed to many other sites, so feel free to post where you like.
  16. TheDailyTimes.com: Maryville, TN, News, Homes, Cars, Jobs & Businesses Do you favor passage of the new guns in bars law? votes cast: 231 Gotta fix this. All the way on the bottom of the page.
  17. I like that Leinwebers response.
  18. Found this on another site. First I've heard of it. Here's a company that's not innocent--in fact, they are willful leading collaborators in the global citizen disarmament movement: "American icon," Levi Strauss. Some of us have been waving that denim flag for years--here's an early warning from Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership: Levi Strauss, the makers of the jeans we are so fond of buying, is taking your money and contributing heavily to PAX. PAX is an organization circulating a petition to broaden the reach of the federal government to disarm America. And here's a letter from our friends at Montana Shooting Sports Association: That you would so clearly favor the criminal class is a mystery to me, but until you recant your uncivilized ways, I will have to recommend that Montana gun owners and members of the Montana Shooting Sports Association to no longer buy your products. After a lifetime of wearing Levi's, I'm switching to something else. OK, but that was years ago. Perhaps public pressure has made them see the light? After all, they're airing a commercial with a Walt Whitman poem narration: Pioneers! O Pioneers! COME, my tan-faced children, Follow well in order, get your weapons ready; Have you your pistols? Have you your sharp edged axes? Pioneers! O pioneers! Inspiring words paying tribute to the American spirit, paradoxically written by a poet who socialists consider an icon, then cynically and commercially exploited here by social engineering globalist profiteers using a beautifully read voice-over by a communist actor. Ah well--back to the point: Where does Levis Strauss & Co. stand today on your right to keep and bear arms? Reader "Barney B" sent me copies of his email correspondence with the clothing giant. I'll give you the CliffsNotes version, from their corporate "consumer relations" reply: Levi Strauss & Co. believes deeply in the importance of equality, social justice, community involvement and corporate citizenship. Here's one of the ways they manifest their deep beliefs: In this time of need, we encourage you to give what you can at Working together to end poverty and injustice — Oxfam America. OXFAM? Where have I heard about them before? Oh, yeah--they're the international citizen disarmament zealots who are conjoined with IANSA to stump for a global gun grab.
  19. I'm just talking about 1 or 2 beers at the most. I thought the whole idea of carrying in restaurants that serve beer is as long as you don't drink?
  20. Let me get this right. You can't drink while carrying, but you can carry and have drank earlier but not under the influence?
  21. Dang, I was hoping to find mine in there.
  22. "second one pulled over after a wedding had 3 beers there but had not had anything in about 2 hours, informed was carrying and had drank earlier" Hmm, am i the only one that caught this? Drinking and carrying?
  23. JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaule decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaule said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible. Rusk responded "does that include those who are buried here? DeGuale did not respond. You could have heard a pin drop When in England , at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush. He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.' You could have heard a pin drop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims. What does he intended to do, bomb them?' A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: 'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they 20 carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?' You could have heard a pin drop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?' Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, 'Maybe it's because the Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.' You could have heard a pin drop. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE... Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on. "You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically. Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously. "Then you should know enough to have your passport ready." The American said, 'The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it." "Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !" The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to." You could have heard a pin drop.
  24. I can see where you're going. I think the smoking thing is right in line with carrying. It should be the owners decision. But yet again they made laws not allowing smoking. There's way too much government intrusion. I'm not going to touch the gay and black thing.
