  1. Louisiana --(Ammoland.com)- A bill in Louisiana would require sportsmen to show the serial number on their firearms before purchasing ammunition. House Bill 8, introduced by Representative Juan LaFonta (D- New Orleans), requires any person selling ammunition to verify that the serial number of the gun for which the ammunition will be used has not been altered or destroyed. Only antique and war relic firearms would be exempt from this new requirement if they are rendered inoperable or if ammunition for these firearms is not available in the U.S. and not otherwise readily available through other means. Essentially, this bill would require sportsmen to take their guns with them to their local gun shop anytime they needed to purchase ammunition. While there, the sales clerk would be required to check the gun’s serial number to make sure it wasn’t altered in any way before selling any ammunition. Sportsmen would have to go through this process every time they want to purchase ammunition. Those wanting to buy ammunition for more than one gun at a time would have to carry every with them to the store to be examined by the sales clerk. “This bill is another example of legislation aimed at eliminating gun ownership by creating unnecessary, burdensome restrictions on a person’s ability to use a firearm,†said Jeremy Rine, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance associate director of state services. “HB 8 is nothing more than a solution in search of a problem.†Take Action! Louisiana sportsmen should contact their state representatives and ask them to oppose House Bill 8. Tell them the bill is impracticable, unnecessary, and only serves to restrict law abiding gun owners. 2. Any decals or hats available? The online store is a bad link.
  3. Yea, I get the same thing. I really would've liked to seen that.
  4. I have a wood rifle stock I'm redoing that if you put a little pressure on it you can see it starting to crack in a couple of places. What's the best way to glue this back together? Do they make a glue that you can inject with a hypodermic needle? Or what is the best way?
  5. I agree. I take my boys out shooting whenever I can.
  6. I'm glad you was able to find a local place to do it. I had to run to UPS in Lenoir City, but this was before Gunny's was here.
  7. The same happened to me when I went in to get cash to buy a used truck. This was at the Lenoir City branch. Talk about being nervous till I could get back to the truck.
  8. Don't forget the millions that own guns legally and don't hunt.
  9. My girlfriend is already trained and knows I need to face the door or at least sit where I get the best view of the over-all establishment we're in.
  10. I didn't want to hi-jack dralarms thread so I made a new one. I lost my mom a week before Christmas. She had copd and was on oxygen for years. She fell breaking bones and hitting her head and couldn't recover. The bad thing about all this is I saw her in the hospital and had to leave to pick up my boys at the airport. They were flying in from my ex in California for Christmas. They had been gone for about 4 monthes. On the drive back from the airport she had passed. So myself or the boys weren't there. AND because of an airline screwup, the boys got here a day later than planned. I did send a nasty e-mail to the airline and did get a $500. voucher for another flight. BTW for anyone that is familiar with Roy's Record Shop in Maryville. That was my mom that passed.
  11. Sign me up for a few decals and a hat.
  12. Wow, that's very touching. Let me be the first to thank you.
  13. I thought Simms really showed his a$$ during an after-game interview. " I could've made those passes" and other things. He's just thinking of hisself and not the team.
  14. I guess what really worries me about this is, say he uses the defense of "Fear for his life". Even though he probably will lose, How can he lose? Can the judge read his mind on how he felt that day? If he does lose, then that would make it hard for somebody else to use that defense again. Another thing that worries me is he had to post a bail. If he was justified why was he even charged without a trial first? I guess what I'm saying is, if anytime you have to use your weapon, Are you going to be automatically charged and pay big money even if you are in the right?
  15. CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- Police have charged a physician who provides abortion procedures in Tennessee with pointing a gun at protesters outside a Charleston health care office. The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that 62-year-old Gary Boyle of Blountville, Tenn., was released on $25,000 bail Saturday. There was no answer Sunday at a telephone listing for Boyle in his hometown and the clinic was closed. &mpvc="] According to a police report, Boyle pulled out a handgun when he was approached by three abortion protesters in the parking lot at Charleston Women's Medical Center in West Ashley. It was not clear whether Boyle was performing abortions at the Charleston clinic. The protesters are participating in a "40 Days for Life" campaign in which they pray outside the clinic 24 hours a day from Sept. 22 through Oct. 31. Why was he charged? I checked and he has a permit. 3 protesters coming at him probably not in a friendly manner. They need to be more specific.
  16. I'm in the same boat as others. I've been wanting to switch from regions for a while but need to use ATM's. Does anyone know if Alcoa or Y12 credit unions charge to use other banks ATM's?
  17. I've been wanting to switch from Regions for a while now. I worry about the lack of branches. Do credit unions charge a fee to use some other ATM?
  18. Wondering if a buddy of mine that is a felon (Not gun related) can shoot my gun for a little plinking at the house?
  19. I had time in both LOL. Hydraulicsman on CH-46E in Marines and Heavy Truck Mechanic in Army.
  20. LOL nope. Look at my pic. I play a banjo. I was probably around 13-14 yo at the time. The big guy playing the banjo is David West, He has a music store in Clinton called Ciderville.
  21. Hehe. no Dolly was there a little before my time. The last time I was at the station, there's was supposedly a guy that had all the video from Cas's show. I sure would like to get with him and get those with me on it.
  22. When I was still in grade school, I played music on his show a few times. I remember getting up very early in the morning and drive to Knoxville and have to hurry and get back for school. He was really a character.
  23. Doesn't matter. The NRA has already showed their intentions by endorsing him earlier. I forgive, but don't forget.
  24. If I got the time to kill and nothing better to do, I would not consent. Nothing to hide though.
