  1. Ok sitting here in Sunny Las Vegas and watching the news over the last few weeks getting packed to move to Nashville I started to think about the following. I was wondering if say like a gun store or even a home takes a hit from bad weather and a tornado blows threw and speads weapons and ammo everywhere. Or during flooding and stuff gets washed away. Hopefully TN is a place that others out there that might pick up something that belongs to others would do the right thing and turn it in. What do you claim it lost, stolen or misplaced due to weather? My heart and prayers go out to you that might have had loss and damage!
  2. Sure am glad my whole family (except 2yrd old) has permits!
  3. I drive a full size van with a 2 way alarm that pages me if it goes off or even if someone taps the glass or body. So space and security are not that much of a issue. I was just concearned about what the law might be and what the general opion of leaving it loaded in the vehicle. Thanks for the replies
  4. Ok, many of you have been great at answering my questions as we are getting ready to head out to relocate to Nashville June 10th. Much Thanks to you all! But I do have another question. Ok, so there are a few more places there it seems to me as I read thru the postings that do not welcome our rights even if issued by the state to carry. I understand and will most always walk away from a place that does not welcome us and try to go and support a place that does. But there will be times when you just have to shop, eat or enter that building for what ever reason. Do you just put it under seat, install a safe, sit in the car and send the wife or what do you do in these situations? Also what is the LAW in reguards to a loaded handgun/firearm/long rifle in a un-man'd vehicle or does your HCP cover that for you? Sorry for all the questions and we really try to google or look up answers here on the forum but some answers only lead to more questions. THANKS!
  5. Thanks to everyone. Once we get moved and situated then I hope to replace some of the iron we sold to get our family moved!
  6. We are moving to Nashville in a few weeks. I have a question about buying from private party. In Vegas you have to register your handguns. So when buying from person to person you go to metro and they do the paperwork. So no way of getting something that you shouldnt have! And if they dont want to meet at metro then you know you DONT want to buy it! In TN you do not have any of that. I realize you should buy from someone who doesnt want to meet in a dark alley and has the #'s scratched. But you just never know who your really buying from and where its been! Other than buying from a store is there any to be able to check?
  7. I am so glad that we are moving out of Las Vegas and relocating to Nashville in less than 2 weeks(sarcasm). WTF! I realize crime is everywhere and you do the best you can to avoid this type of crap. It is sound like we are moving out of the frying pan into the fire? Too late now, job transfer and lease are already in! I will tell you that should something like this every happen to us I will do what my friends that are LEOs here say to do, that is to make sure that the 911 op understands that you are in fear for your life! And if the wife and child are in the truck let HER make the call to 911 and I will concentrate of driving!
  8. I am still in shock over possibly not being allowed to go grocery shopping and not being able to carry. I guess its very easy to take for granted the current laws here in Vegas! Now I do have another question that I have googled and searched and found no answers. My question is, What am I allowed to cc? Here in NV you must carry what you qualified with ONLY! as well as here in Vegas metro you can only carry that weapon registered with its registration blue card. NO blue card and you get stopped and your in big trouble! I have read that TN has no registration on handguns so does that mean if I own 5 handguns I can just pick and chose what I feel like that day or does each one have to be listed on the HCP?
  9. Thank you for all the replies and answers. We are excited to be leaving Las Vegas. Its going to be a long drive with a 24ft trailer! We get to CC almost all the way there! Have to stop at the AZ NM state line to un holster and dig out the safe to lock them up for the drive thru then stop in TX and then back to business as usual!
  10. We have NV and UT ccw permits. So we have read that we just have to fill out the renewal application and pay the fee for TN. Is this correct? I have search google and read this forum for the last few hours looking for answers to other questions such as. You can or can NOT carry in a resturant that serves alcohol? Gun busters and other like signage is law in TN? Here in Vegas other than federal and state propertys the most a business with posted signs can do is ask you to leave and call LE to press tresspassing charges if you refuse to leave. If they have signs on the building then the parking lot is covered also? After reading alot of the postings here it just seems to be there are a lot of places that you can NOT carry there in TN and still be a lawfull citizen! As we all know its the crooks and thugs do not care about the law! We are moving into what we have been told is a good area in the same neighborhood as Donelson Christian Academy and would like to utilize the Greenway bike trail. But is this part of the city parks and rec and we are not allowed to carry? Also this trail heads at Perce Priest Lake that is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. So is that considered a state park and we can carry? And the Greenway Trail touches the back side of the Tennessee LE academy! Any help or direction to a link to help new comers to TN other than the general web link would be greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to getting out of Vegas and enjoying the people and other things TN has to offer!
  11. Thanks, we are very concearned about where we are allowed to carry and where not allowed. Very different than here in Vegas!
  12. Hey, Our family is relocating from Las Vegas NV to Nashville in 2 weeks. The wife and I have our CCW's. We are both firm on our stand to never be the victim! Wanted to join up on a local board here in TN to search out others with same interest and help support the right to carry any way we can.
