  1. Thats fine. We live here now and if that is the largest then thats the one we need to go to. But hope its larger than the Nashville show! Thanks for the inuput to all. Side note. Vegas has some decent size shows but Reno NV has "THE BIG SHOW". Thats the name of it and it truly is a BIG SHOW! Took us 2 full days just to make it thru both sections.
  2. Can anyone tell me if they charge for parking? And about how big are the shows in Boro usually? Basically is it worth going? Being new to Nashville went to the show at the fairgounds, paid to park and paid to get the family in and was sadly dissapointed with the show and the small amount of the vendors as compared to the large shows in Vegas with free parking and lower entry fee!
  3. Thanks. Yeah, noticed that too. There "disclaimer" Wonder if I can get a 2nd barrel and have it polished out to get rid of there junk?
  4. I did the deal and he happened to have 100 rds of +p Jacketed HP to boot. I am pleased with it. I have my Keltec in pocket till can get a better feeling for the six and a decent leather holster for it. Was going to go see what the gun show had untill we saw the $5 parking and figured by the time we got the whole family in I can just order off the web for anything I want! I will be looking for a nice galco owb for it, the S&W K frame holster does the job too. I am also going to convert when I can find a spurless hammer. And do the spring mod and change out these grips. Thanks to all who gave there opions.
  5. TNWNGR. NO, he is giving me $200 cash and the Six
  6. Winters coming and I am looking to carry something different. A wheel gun in .357 sounds nice to me! I am considering trading my XD9SC for a 1982/83 (by serial #) Ruger Speed Six 2 3/4 stainless .357 with pachy grips. I am throwing in a bunch of ammo and holsters/mag carriers for trade against the Speed Six and $200 cash. I can replace the XD any time but I have always wanted a snub .357. So I have a few questions. If you have owned one what personal defense loads do/did you use. From my understanding it can handle pretty hot loads but you dont need that for protection. From what I read doing a new trigger spring will increase the comfort of use. Any other mods that can be done? Any other info or comments are welcome. Thanks.
  7. As some of you have read in other post we are relocating from Las Vegas to Nashville. We left last week and stopped in Oklahoma at the wifes families house for a short visit before heading on to Nashville. This morning we lost a friend and a family member. One of our boxers has passed on this morning. He had made many trips over the span of his life time(2002-2011) He was having a hard time with the heat yesterday and I checked him at 4am and by 6am he had gone. I realize that to some dogs are just dogs but for us he was family and friend and protector. But even if you only see them as dogs you should always let them know that they are appreciated and loved. To my dog Chopper. I love you very much and you will be missed by all who knew you. Chopper 2002-2011 Go chase those tennis balls in Heaven! On another note we will be leaving as planned for Nashville tomorrow morning!
  8. I carry a XD9 sub compact and it does well, I am corfortable with it in most situations. I do carry a 2nd full size mag with it also. I also looked at a few different single stacked hand guns but they did not feel very good in my hand. You should go with what feels good to you in hand as long as its a quality weapon.
  9. OMG. I just watched the video of that NUT case being interviewed! My heart and prayers go out to the family and friends of the fallen HERO! And those radical nut bags will be judged one day and I have a feeling they will NOT like what the Judge has to say to them! We will not be pulling into Nashville untill the 15th or you would have our family there for support! God bless all those that attend to help this HERO be laid to rest with pride and dignity!
  10. Thanks for all the welcoming words. I turn 40 in 3 days to boot! So this week is a week full of rollercoaster emotions between my wife and I as well as our 2 year old. We will miss a few things about the west coast. But I have always had more of a "Good ole boy" mentality any how! And the wife HATES Vegas! We are making a few stops along the way to vist friends in other states so we will be in Nashville by the 15th. Hopefully everyone is as friendly as everyone on this forum is. If so it should make our transition very pleasant! There is another forum guy doing the same thing tomorrow UberDuper, but hes lucky and gets to FLY! SO I wish him and his family safe passage to TN Also!
  11. THE COUNT DOWN HAS BEGUN! 5 days and counting! I feel like a kid the night before Christmas! Well, I cant decide between excitement and anxiety! This Friday we finish loading the van and trailer and start our journey East to our new life in Nashville! No matter what any one can tell you or how much you can read on line and no matter how much research you do. You just never know what to really expect from a new city. We get excited when we read postings from great people that love there city and then we read postings from those that dont really care for where they live and can only point out the negative we get a good case of "what the hell" did we commit to! We did months of research of several citys with the Pros and Cons of each and all in to compare with where we currently live (Vegas) and we decided on TN either Knox or Nash and the wife just ended up with a job in Brentwood. We have been packing and cleaning for over a month now and it has finally come down to the LAST 5 DAYS IN VEGAS! I am looking forward to a change in scenary and for sure a change in people (locals)!
