  1. The Good: bought a 442 for my first conceal- a little heavy, but hides fairly well in my front pocket. Shot it for the first time tonight- great little shooter for close-up work; it was also the first snubbie I've ever shot- work the wrist pretty good shootin' five with one hand. The Baaad: Without thinking *I hopped in my jeep and went over to a fella's property which is out of the city limits. Oooh, no ear protection. Ah, it'll only hurt a little. Dang! I shoulda stopped at 5. I did 15. Never again. That's ok. I went home and hurt myself (not literally- just very sore) emptying the sand out of the base of my son's basketball hoop. Dude, I forgot about my ears for a while. I like the gun; probably need better grips-feel too small in my hands maybe. One thing is for sure- if shot up close, someone is going down with this round. john *FYI, I did this before shooting the gun.

Where have you looked? I'm finding it plentiful in SE Tenn. My Walmart doesn't carry as much as other Walmarts in the area, but there doesn't seem to be a problem.
  3. I went to a Cookville show a month back; could only find one used conceal gun that I'd consider-sadly overpriced. Spent 1.5 hours driving each way. Disappointed, yep. I'm still new to guns in a sense. Are there any organized swaps or what have you?
  4. Hey all. Will have all the parts for my first ar build by mid next week. Wondering if anyone near my home (Dayton, Tn) is building an ar. I'd like to look in and see how it's done. Then I'll get my tool collection started. Thanks, john PM me if you're interested.
  5. Thanks guys for the help. All parts ordered but a rear sight. Now on to read threads about building it. john
  6. Ordered the Omega 7 and a bcg from Rainier. I forgot the rear site though.
  7. Why is this bcg photo different from every other site with a DD 9300? Daniel Defense Full Auto Bolt Carrier Assembly AR-15 223
  8. Ok. I found these: Daniel Defense Full Auto Bolt Carrier Assembly AR-15 223 Rainier Arms, LLC™ | Browse | Bolt Carrier Assemblies | Rainier Arms Thunder Boltâ„¢ BCG Palmetto states that the bcg is for .223. Daniel Defense says the same group is M16. Is the .223 and 5.56 the same in this instance? john
  9. I know; so i'm looking around.
  10. At some point soon I'll get the DD omega 7. Today I ordered the upper above with a charging handle. So I'm looking for my bcg and some rear sight. Thanks for the help. john
  11. Do you think the DD omega7 has any true weaknesses? And how often does one need to change the gas block? thanks, john
  12. Rdog, Does this mean I cannot add a free float handguard? I'd like that option. And I like the shorter shooter- that's why I chose the 14.5 barrel. john
  13. Ok. I have my lower, lpk and buttstock kit. Now I need an upper. I think I like this one: BCM Standard 14.5" M4 Carbine Upper Receiver Group w/ Permanent A2X Flash Hider (16.1") I don't know alot about ARs. What I would like is a solid and accurate weapon. Dont' even know if I want an optic on it. Probably like to put a flashlight on it though. So I'd like your thoughts on barrel/receiver group (pros/cons) and stuff like which handguards will fit this configuration, (lighter is better by the way). I'm still reading alot, but I'm sure the BCG and charging handle should be easier for me to decide. FYI, my lower is a forged Mega and my buttstock kit is lowend magpul. thanks, john
  14. Hey all. Just signed on here - get to know folks closer to home. Name is John and I live Dayton- work long hours in my coffee biz and own a few guns- semi pistols, rifles and a shotgun. john
