I wouldn't carry anything cocked and locked no matter how many safeties without some kind of holster. I got a new 1911 last week and the first thing I did after shooting, of course, is buy a holster for it even though I don't plan on it being a carry gun. JTM🔫 Sent from my iPhone

The best advice is sleep on all the extra padding you can the ground will absorb alot of heat. If bag has drawstring at top. Crawl in put on hat and pull string tight. I am bald hence the hat. I used to spend several w/e's A year in sw Texas at a hunting camp with no utilities. Survived many nights in the winter with a fire outside and no heat in cabin but a Coleman lantern. A childhood friend of mine, who is a ffl dealer and class 2 gun manufacturer had a .25 mouse gun someone gave him go off while chambering a round and grazed the palm of his hand. He said was one of the most painful experiences of his life. I don't remember what type gun it was but the firing pin was retained by a roll pin that failed. I have just purchased a metro arms 1911 four inch for less that $500. I was the same about breaking the bank. I have only run about 30-40 rnds thru it due to time but like the way it shoots better than my EDC XD40.
