  1. Welcome to West Tenn. I live about 15 minutes south of Jackson and work about 20 minutes north of Jackson so hollar if you need any help finding things.
  2. This is just proof that in today's world, if you shoot someone the media/prosecution are going to charge you. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  3. Great article. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  4. That says it all. Thanks for posting. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  5. I have killed more deer with my grandfather's 30-30 than my 30-06 or .308 just for the memories of hunting with granddaddy when I was a kid. Great story. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. He was planning on going to get the rifles. He has guns here and goes back to visit about twice a year. He can just pick them all up. Thanks for the info. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Being diabetic for 30 yrs I have the same short term problems. My wife has to tell me what we talked about the day before. It can be very trying. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. My wife sent me this link and I thought you would find it interesting. http://freedomoutpost.com/2012/09/un-small-arms-treaty-passes-while-media-sleeps/#ixzz273yd3gOd JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. This seems as good a place as any to ask this. I have been meaning to start a thread to find out but what about a case of inheritance. I have a friend at work that inherited several guns from his father that recent passed away and he knows I am a gun guy and asked. This inheritance includes several long guns and at least 1 handgun. I told him that the long guns were good to go and get but the handguns were different. Does the executor of the will have to ship to a ffl here and transfer. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. I think this is the funniest thing you have ever said. Lmao. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  11. I will totally agree with Dol and TMF. My daughter dates a Saudi exchange student at UTM and he is the most respectful boy she has ever brought home. He drinks more than I do. He and I have had long conversations about everything from guns to religion. His father is a retired general in the Saudi army and he has told me the stories of the parties at Princes' houses and how the government works. Labor Day w/e we had a back to school party for all there friends. There were about 15 Saudi guys here that were the most respectful partiers I have ever had at my house. Only 3 weren't drinking. Only one was semi-devout. Number one they are all named Mohammad or Abdul, so they use nicknames. They even say that. And they all love bacon. Think it is the greatest thing around. They don't eat it regularly but all have tried it and love it. These guys are mostly Sunni Muslims and I have asked about sinning. The answer I got was no one is perfect so they are all going to hell, it is just a matter of how long you have to stay there. Keep in mind I have not studied Islam, I am just going on what everyday(not extremists) Muslims tell me. We Christians have oppressed people in the past. The Crusades..hmmm. I think part of the problem is these people in most cases are oppressed by their own governments and are looking for an outlet. Shalani(daughters boyfriend) tells stories of not being able to do things that we think nothing of. Can people be misguided in any religion. Yes. Look at the Roman Catholic Church, they ruled Europe for centuries. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. That is what I would do. It is transportation. Get a used car for running to the store. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Here are a couple of things. Texas was mentioned earlier and it is a felony in Texas to trespass on posted property while armed, so they are serious about their property rights. Just hypothetical. I come home from work and two guys have broken in and pried up my safe and are carrying it out the front door. First, my safe has irreplaceable family guns in it that are dear to me. The sheriff response time at my house is about 45 min. Do I help them load it or pull my sidearm and stop them. The safe contains weapons that will more than likely be used against honest folks like us. Would you shoot to potentially protect others in the future. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I am not even going to comment on this......"SHORT PEOPLE" Come on opinions are like.... JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Just thinking that the defense should run DNA on the shirt around the area where the gun was. If concealed, that is where the DNA would show up most. Not an attorney, but if you went after my gun while concealed under shirt I would used right hand to retain gun in holster and left hand to fend up off. You would probably(I hope) would never actually get your hands on my gun. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. I have a couple of waterproof cigarette cases I got thru my work that are dirt cheat. I have seen them in stores for $1-2 each. They even have a lanyard and they hold a blackberry or iPhone easily. JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I either have to piss or puke and this is more controllable..... JTM Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Would definitely file a report(not necessarily a complaint) with local PD. That way if new officer he is corrected on the law and if liar he is reprimanded for lying to a upstanding citizen. I get lied to by customers at work all the time about things that don't matter. It is very frustrating. I expect more from law enforcement. And back to topic, every handgun on me or in my house is chambered and safe. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  19. How bout just put "freedom of speech" on one for me. It is the 1A for a reason. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  20. That was entertaining. What an idiot. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  21. I agree. Rule #1 all guns are always loaded. I was in a local gun store not to long ago to see the new XDS and the guy behind the counter(not the usual guy) took it out and handed it to me without checking the chamber. I am an xd guy and know about the indicator but still checked the chamber in front of guy. I didn't scold him(not my job). It just made me feel uncomfortable. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  22. I have an xd40 service model. It took a few rounds to memorize the trigger but then I was as accurate as with anything else. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  23. Look. That class is basically to remove liability from the state if you do something stupid. It is so when the lawyers say he had a permit issued in TN, the state can say he took our class and we told him he couldn't do that. I can't think of but one person from my class 2 years ago that I would want to back me up by watching their qualifications. And they all hit the target. It was just their comfort level of handling firearms and lack of respect for firearms that bothered me about some of them. JTM Sent from my iPhone
  24. I don't really care about the registered part I just thought it would be a interesting project. I am not a machinist either but I have a friend who is and he has an extra milling machine he wants to set up in my shop if I can ever get it cleaned out(my house is about 25 miles closer to his house than his shop. 25. Finished lumber is very expensive. I built a shoe rack/handgun safe stand a couple of weeks ago for my closet and the lumber was over $50. Not counting the stitches. It was only 18"x36" in paint grade pine. JTM Sent from my iPhone
