1.
NOPE! Shoot what you're used to and accurate with. 5.56 WILL kill deer. While I would prefer something like .270 or '06, if all I had was a .223 I was used to & knew I'd take that over a bigger gun that I wasn't so familiar with, every day of the week. It's ALL about shot placement. Everything else & I mean EVERYTHING else is a secondary consideration. You gotta remember, even with pin-point-perfect placement, not every deer is going to dump on the spot (although the Sportsman (sic) Channel would have you believe this) Use good quality bullets that are going to expand properly, learn where to shoot a deer from all angles & keep your shots to distances you're 100% comfortable with & you'll be fine.
I have killed more deer with my grand daddy's old 30-30 than my 06. I have seen them fall on the spot, jump twice and fall down, and run for a quarter mile. Lesson is they all die. Most of the time if you give them time and don't pursue they will lay down close and bleed out. JTM Sent from my iPhone
 2. You said you didn't want another caliber to feed. I shoot a xd40 that is really snappy. My FIL's xd40sc shoots as flawless as my full sized but less barrel flip which makes it a lot easier to stay on target. My wife has a Bersa thunder.380 that she loves(pink grips). It has run flawless except for some Promag problems. Stick to Bersa mags and all is well.
 3. Would everyone please update their profile with guns and likes because I want to send my recipient something that I hope will be useful. I love this kind of thing and like to get as personal as possible with gifts and put some heart into it. Thanks for the cool Christmas.

 5.
Robert, I'm about as ProGun as it comes... And the parking lot bill is a BAD bill, and I can't support it. The argument you make is that of a progressive who believe they know what is best for me and my property. The person who knows best what to do with their business is the owner of that business, period. His business isn't there for the 'best interest' of society at large, it is there solely for what is the best interest of the OWNER of said business. There are much simpler methods to deal with anti-gun businesses which choose to post... don't do business with them... just like you won't go do business with a restaurant that said 'whites only', you shouldn't do business with a business that posts. I know, it's a tough economy, you can't go spend an extra $1 on a hamburger, or find a job with a pro-gun company... well that is your problem, not the problem of the property owner. We should be focusing our efforts on the one part of society where we have no choice, government buildings and land, unlike private businesses we're forced by law to interact with these groups, there are no other choices available, we end up paying taxes and can't use parks, and government buildings because the government can use 1359 to ban otherwise lawful carry. That should be our real target... Ask yourself why is the capitol building still posted? All it takes is 2 signatures to remove the postings... The missing signature Beth Harwell. As for your argument that people need a 'good enough for you' reason to want to ban firearms, I disagree, private property even if it's a business should not have to explain to you, me, or anybody else why they want to ban firearms, only that they choose to... and You, I, and anybody else can avoid that business and vote with our pocket books. We have so many really bad firearm laws on the books, which seem to be a lot less likely to run rough shot over other peoples constitutionally protected rights... We should be focusing on those laws first, and let this bad law die.
There is no question about property rights in this bill. The bill has nothing to do with property rights except for the fact that it re-enforces the castle doctrine that has been upheld to show that a persons vehicle is the same as there home and this bill only re-enforces that I have the right to keep any legally pocessed items that I want no matter what your employer thinks about them. My vehilce, My property, My employer has no business wondering what I have in My Property. What would you say if your employer was going to fire you because you have a refrigorater in your home. Would that be legal? My car is just like my home in Tennessee law and this bill just re-enforces that. It has nothing to do with property rights.
 6. I got to the thread after link was deleted, but I trust your judgement. There is a special place in hell for people would abuse there loved ones. My natural father abused my mom when I was a baby and I don't remember it but I have a deep seeded hate for people like that. I was lucky they got divorced and my DAD came along and adopted me and my sister. JTM Sent from my iPhone

 8. I agree with all those comments. When I lived and hunted in TX deer did not have to be checked. You could quarter and eat in camp(some very remote locations). There is nothing better than kill it in the morning and eat it for lunch. On most 4 day hunts we would only take about 1-2 days worth of meat. The only down side to that is there were a couple of times we were riding around at night spot lighting rabbits. Which is legal on private roads. JTM Sent from my iPhone
 9. The most dangerous thing I have ever been on was a 1974-5 cub cadet lawn mower. It had stroked 2205 vow engine turboed with a 4speed transmission and a 9" ford rear end that was narrowed to fit. It was awesome but stupid. JTM Sent from my iPhone

 12. I have a friend who was convicted of a felony on a questionable charge by helping his boss many years ago that currently has all rights restored. He has several guns and a HCP. His charge had nothing to do with drugs or violence. It was one of those the law is so unclear that it could have happened to anyone. JTM Sent from my iPhone

 14.
I don't think anything in that area is profitable except gas stations and liquor stores.
Only gas stations. I have a friend who manages a liquor store and he says they are really struggling. Also my MIL worked for a liquor store and she just got laid off indefinitely about 2 months ago.
 15. Right. To Nebraska. I know there system is more complicated but what would be wrong with TN has 11 electoral votes and the Rs win 55% of the votes then the Rs get 6 votes and the Ds get 5. JTM Sent from my iPhone
 16.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government. The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it. To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. Most bad government has grown out of too much government. The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. Thomas jefferson Do you think he might have had a vision?
No I think he is one of the smartest men to live in this country and was trying to keep history from repeating. The problem is all of these "educated" people all failed history. If not fail then forgot. To address the baby boomer comment, my father is a 66 year old man who still works because he can. This Friday he is meeting me at Lowes to get lumber to build a wheelchair ramp for his sister in law who has gotten Lou Gehrig's disease and can't get in and out of her house. He owes no one and still gives without reward. I can never down this generation. JTM Sent from my iPhone
 17. I understand the line of thinking and find myself leaning that way sometime and then I think of all the work I have put in so that my children can have a better life not to mention the work my parents did so I could grow up to be a productive citizen. When the economy fails I will be one of the first to go due to failing health due to Type I diabetes and I will gladly go with gun in hand defending my families future. JTM Sent from my iPhone
 18.
This morning, Davy Crockett's famous line of "Y'all can go to hell, I'm going to Texas." was going through my mind. But then, I thought back to my two years spent in Houston. You can't find a pork sandwich down there to save your life.
I spent 5years in Austin and you are right about the pork. If they did decide to leave(which if their right according to there treaty) it will be war just because other states will try and follow suite. Wa Charlie Daniels right? JTM Sent from my iPhone

 24. If you think back, they will bounce the battleground states back and forth til 10pm cst when Kali polls close and then they will announce the winner. Seems like a good way to get people to watch TV. I am watching a movie with Tnbrat and checking numbers on the iPad every so often.
 25. Ok. Lets get back to voting and not arguing about candidates. Found this little tidbit of info on what one vote can mean. Historical Facts On The Power Of Just One Vote 1645 One vote gave Oliver Cromwell control of England. 1776 One vote gave America the English language instead of German. 1868 One vote saved President Andrew Jackson from impeachment. 1875 One vote changed France from a monarchy to a republic. 1876 One vote gave Rutherford B. Hayes the Presidency of the United States of America. 1923 One vote gave Adolf Hitler leadership of the Nazi Party. 1941 One vote saved the Selective Service - just weeks before Pearl Harbor was attacked. 1990 One vote decided a state House race in Oakland County, Michigan. http://www.usfca.edu/fac-staff/hancock/pol204/history.htm
