  1. A good friend of mine worked in a butcher shop in hs in Chicago. He moved here when I was five and his son and I grew up together. The First time he sharpens a blade it takes hours and after that just a few quick licks but it will be razor sharp and hold an edge.
  2. Rum....Why is the rum always gone? Aw.....that's why.
  3. Guys we have it better than you think. The county that my F-I-L lives in in Michigan you can't carry any folding knife. Yes MI has open carry without a permit, but knife laws go county to county. Awww, and on top of that, you can carry a 9 inch fixed blade knife without a problem.
  4. My wife loves her Bersa Thunder .380. Will shoot my Xd40 and won't touch my 1911. She can hit whatever she wants at 30 feet with it so it works for me.
  5. JTM are my initials and years ago setting up an AOL chatroom acct I was the manager for autozone so I was Jtmaz, when I left Autozone, I changed it to Jtmaze for autozone ex and it stuck. Been using the name for 15+ years now.
  6. Prayers go out to all involved>
  7. All are good ideas. The only way to keep on specific property like you are talking is awireless fence. Two acres is not much room for a medium to large dog. A lab(which are not mellow until about 4-5 years old) can be gone from 2 acres in a matter of seconds. My cousin next door has a lab mix in a wireless fence one about 1.5 acres and he will not leave period. Training the dog is going to be the biggest challenge. I believe that if properly tained you can teach a dog to do anything but type. I am living proof of that just ask my wife. Good luck with your search!!! Be sure to post pics.
  8. Why don't just everyone on here block there number and call him to the point he can't use his phone!!!! Tell him you are with the FBI fraud division and ask if he has been getting any phone calls asking for money.

    New pup

I have 3 rescues and a purebred mini daschund and guess which one is the worst dog(if a dog can be bad.) The rescues are 2 pit bulls and a Boston(who is also the most expensive dogs I have ever owned.) The Boston lived on the street in Milan for about 9 months. The dog catcher could not catch him. He showed up on my porch one freezing night and my wife let him in and he never left. We found the original owners who were moving and said he jumped out of the truck and they couldn't catch him. They said they couldn't have pets at their new house so they gave us his papers and we kept him. He is the best dog I have ever owned. Don't even need a leash to walk him. After a near death experience with a car and a acorn size bladder stone and acute kidney failure, he gets up and lays in the sun on the back deck and when he wants to play he just attacks one of the pit bulls. All in all, he is 10 years old now and is one I the best dogs I have ever owned. I hope yours is as good a friend as mine.
  10. Very well said. 1 in 10 of the police officers I have had encounters with in the last 15 years have been helpful and supporting in the situation at hand. On the other hand, there is a black State Trooper that works the Gibson Co area in West TN That I have had several encounters with that I personally think is the perfect example of what law enforcement should be. Every encounter I have had with him, From getting a Ticket to my daughter totalling a car he has been the nicest most respectful gentleman you could ask to deal with. This is why you just have to judge(for lack of a better man) the man, not the uniform.
  11. I took my course with my XD40 and the instructor said good shooting and nothing else and signed off on my certificate. Didn't count or anything.
  12. Sounds like a cool dog. I get jealous of my pit bulls because they only weight about 90lbs each but are but rock solid.
  13. definately the 3S's replace shoot with SAW
  14. There is a law that says you have to buy something or else!!!!!!!How much did your health insurance go up in the past 1.5 years.....That law is called Obamacare.
  15. The way to avoid tickets is don't speed. Unless you are on a long road trip, going 10mph over the speed limit is only going to save you 1-2 minutes. If you drive the speed limit you will not get a ticket unless you have a major tire discrepancy and then you should know. You more than likely put the bigger tires on there to begin with. After 15 yrs in the new car parts and service business I did learn that all electronically controlled speedos have a programmable pinion factor for tire size and changing gear ratios. This is no excuse.
  16. Sign me up for the 270mpg VW. Change my weekly gas bill from $90 a week to $15. I can make the car payment with that. Who cares if it only goes 99mph. As I get older I realize I don't need to get there that fast anyway.
  17. Where is this shop? I live in Deanburg and am always looking for somewhere to shop.
  18. At todays prices you blew the budget halfway thru the list!!!!!!!
  19. I was lucky growing up living so close to a state park. When I was a kid, we found injured animals all the time and we would take them to the head ranger and he would nurse them back to health and release them or dispose of the body. I think it was more of a hobby than part of his job. He had a bird of prey license and all. He actually had a turkey vulture that would follow him around the park like a dog. It could not fly so it became his pet. JTM We the People of the United States
  20. I had a flying squirrel show up at the house last night. Relatively tame and could get really close. I(or my family) have lived in this house since 1977 and have killed thousands of gray and fox squirrels but have never seen a flying squirrel in this part of the world. I live about an hour from Natchez Trace state park and 5 minutes from Chickasaw state park, for those who don't know Natchez Trace has a huge population of flying squirrels, I am wondering if maybe the state has transported some to Chickasaw.

    advice needed

You are already good with .45acp, Why not an XDs? small compact and packs a punch.
  22. You only have one family of squirrels and they just keep coming back. You will never keep tree rats off bird feeders. Three miles by the road is nothing for a squirrel. In hunting season I will wipe out a whole family in the woods behind my house and wait 3-4 weeks and I will go out and kill 5-6 more. I have never seen anything like it.
  23. The last 2 "recessions" have been far worse than the Great Depression ever was in monetary terms. There just weren't people jumping off of buildings, they just got government help to bail them out. Good thing or bad thing. In my opinion, ALL BAD. The economy would fix itself thru natural economics if the Government would just stay out of it. I work for a major retailer and my personell manager was complaining earlier that she had six interviews lined up today and 2 called and cancelled and the other 4 just didn't show up. Hmmmm....I guess the government money hasn't run out yet.
  24. Air rifle!!!! .22lr or cross bow, and the 3 S's
