  1. Yes sorry, that's the one. Goodlettsville gun shop does have some selection but Guns and Leather or D&T may be a better bet. Phillip gets most his business through classes.
  2. I recommend the Goodlettsville Gun Shop! Phillip is a great guy and former Metro PD. they have a great reputation. It's worth the drive!! Take your wife even if she doesn't get her permit. The cert. is good for 1 year. She can learn rules/regulations/laws. They provide a gun for the class if a newbie or first timer, very friendly and patient.
  3. Glock 17L was my first handgun to shoot. A full size Glock is great to start with ie. Glock 17 IMO
  4. Oh yeah!!
  5. Gun Wisdom....Guns Are Good...The More You Have The Better!!!! Some words to the wise. Shooting Advice from various Concealed Carry Instructors. If you own a gun, you will appreciate this. If not, you should get one and learn how to use it: A; Guns have only two enemies rust and politicians. B; Its always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6. C; Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you. D; Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arms length. E; Never say "Ive got a gun." If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off. F; The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes, the response time of a .357 is 1400 feet per second. G; The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win - cheat if necessary. H; Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets . . . You may get killed with your own gun, but he'll have to beat you to death with it, cause it'll be empty. I; If your're in a gun fight: 1/ If you're not shooting, you should be loading, 2/ If you're not loading, you should be moving, 3/ If you're not moving, you're dead. J; In a life and death situation, do something . . . It may be wrong, but do something! K; If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about? L; You can say 'stop' or 'alto' or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much a universal language. M; You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.

    New addition

I don't think they still make these right?
  8. I'll stay with the Big Boys lmao
  9. Lol Taylor!
  10. Sounds like another country boy signed up lol Glad to have ya!
  11. I am in the medical field and everything has its place, but stopping a drug that can help people will not stop drug dealers and unethical people/situations. These dealers will always find ways to get drugs onto the streets so this new painkiller can help many and limiting it may just hurt the people who need it by reducing the amount of pills taken and the frequency.
  12. I used to have a EMP 9 it was a great pistol. I have decided to keep my p229 for now which is a good size.
  13. Go to Guns and Leather in Hendersonville or Greenbriar or D&T Arms in Hendersonville. You will probably find what you want at one of these stores but I would go with Sig. They are great and reliable and look good too. I carry a P229 Elite Dark as my primary and would not swap it, well maybe for another 1911 but that's another story. 9mm is a great round along with .40 which is about the same price in ammo cost. If you buy a .40 later on you can buy a .357 sig barrel from Sig and use the same magazines and have even more power in the 2022. If you buy a 9mm you will be limited to only that caliber but 9mm will serve you good! IMHO you can't compare a Sigma or Ruger SR series to a Sig lol. Also check out Glock if you like those..great guns!
  14. Lol I had a TRP Operator and I liked it. I am still deciding and no I am not adding even more cash. Most likely I think I am gonna pass on the DW, but I always change my mind lol
  15. I know when I heard this story I thought it was a hoax. Couldn't believe it!
  16. Looks good! Have you got the irons and optic sighted yet at the range?
  17. What optic is that?
  18. Navy Seal shot himself while drunk last night in front of a woman he brought home from the bar. He was showing her how safe a 9mm is. Link below for story and video: http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/guns/video-navy-seal-geno-clayton-shoots-self-head-unloaded-gun http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCQQqQIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wfmj.com%2Fstory%2F16464800%2Fnavy-seal-from-the-valley-accidentally-shoots-himself&ei=z8sIT6msB4KusQLtweSQCg&usg=AFQjCNEmlwF9Eb-onHjpMnpff8euTeH41Q
  19. I am seriously worried of another AWB myself! Makes me wanna go buy another AK right now!
  20. Same here never used a wrench. Used my finger to depress the plunger and slid the bushing over. As Beowulf said this would not be possible if you have a full length as you may need a wrench or pin for a full length. If you gun has a "button" on the muzzle which is your plunger, just press with finger. The recoil spring does not contain a lot of pressure, it is very easy. Slide the bushing to the left, remove plunger and spring, slide the plunger all the way right and remove outward.
  21. Very nice! Thanks for all the info. Now I just need to justify it lol
  22. I was reading that the Valors were superior to the lower end Wessons, naturally looks like the Valor VBOB will cost me 1740. Does this sound about right? It has the duty coat, commander size. How does the duty coat hold up compared to other coatings like Springers Teflon?
  23. Yeah I had the TRP and a few others and just figured I would ask. Just didn't know if the price was worth it or not for their quality. If I wanted one I would have to buy online cause I cannot find one in town.
  24. Anyone have any positive or negative comments on Dan Wesson Valor model 1911's?
