So I have decided within the next few months to purchase another rifle. I am looking at Noveske, Nighthawk Custom, the HK MR556, and Red Jackets integrally suppressed AK. I really like the HK because...well...it's an HK and a great weapon but there are so many choices. I'm not really looking to build a rifle at this time. What do y'all think?

+1 I have one as well although I should have gotten the ZT 300 because I like a really big knife.

I think if you buy any brand name AR on the market right now, it's going to be of good quality ie M&P, Spikes, Windham, BCM, Bushmaster...

For just home defense, you need a good 18" 12 guage shotgun, preferably pump in my opinion so there is no reliability issues. I don't think there would be an issue with you owning one of those. In a defense situation I would not grab my HK or AR, I have had to grab my Winchester Defender 1300 12 guage pump. I trust that gun in my hands, my fiancé, or my mother! Put a good recoil reducing stock on it like a Blackhawk and anyone can shoot it accurately and comfortably.

It would be kool to have but a year wait if I'm not mistaken. 6 months to build, 6 months for NFA unless you can do NFA while they are building the rifle.

Those hand guards are Magpul MOE. I like em better than quad rails. You get that same versatility where you can add rails but alot more comfortable to the hands without having to add rail ladders.

The HK USP has been built around the .40S&W since its introduction in 1993. In 1994 HK made a 9mm version and 1995 a .45 version. I love the HK platform but it's not for everyone. Our lovely govt. agency ICE carries HK's in .40, I believe the PK2000 and USP Compact .40 LEM which is what I carry. A buddy of mine is ICE in Arizona.
