  1. What couch?  I ain't married!
  2. Thanks to mcordell, I got this...
  3. I bought another Mosin 91/30 last week....  In another 10 years, I'll  be saying "remember back when Mosins were only $179?"   I wish I had gotten into the shooting hobby about 15 years sooner than I did....    still looking to get an M1 Garand before they get even more pricey
  4. I'd very much like to discuss it because I'm relatively new to reloading and I don't know much about rifle bullet choices and their diameter....  I figure those 3 cartridges are relatively close but didn't know if they were exactly interchangeable
  5. Is there any molds that work for 7.62x54r, 308, and 30-06 with the same mold?  I plan on starting to reload for the 308, and if I can get things to work on multiple caliber cartridges, it would be nice.....   also Caster can you post pictures of your rifle?  We always appreciate looking at gun porn
  6. One of the reasons I wanted the Ruger American Rimfire is because I already had a Leupold FX-I Rimfire 4x28mm scope that wasn't attached to anything, had the sling, and rings, and swivels... just needed the rifle. Plus it's the 4th of July so had to get something American right.. Weather pending, I'll post some groups for you in a couple days, my backyard range only goes to 60 yards, but maybe I can convince the neighbors to let me stretch it out to 100
  7. I believe I'd choose the 9mm carbine....  While I like the SKS, it's a heavy gun to tote around.   It's also nice to be able to use the same ammo and magazines as your pistol.   But know, that neither of these guns would be my first choice.  Also know that the 9mm carbine does not replace a true rifle, as I would only recommend it up to maybe 150 yards (100 yards really for the 9mm round)  We lobbed in 9mm rounds at 500 yards with my dad's carbine, but we had to aim about 40 ft over the target.      But of the 2, I believe the weight, ease of cleaning, and hopefully ample supply of 9mm ammo would win out.
  8. Went to the gun store, brought home a Ruger American Rimfire and a 1939 Tula Mosin
  9. I just looked at the price of the 77/22 and my jaw dropped a little......    is it really worth that kind of money?     My brother in law has a Cz 452 military trainer...  it feels nice in the hand, and love the craftsmanship, but wasn't overly impressed with it's accuracy... of course we just shot some Remington Thunderbolt ammo.    I've liked the idea of the American since it came out, and with the 10/22 magazines, I just figure it will fit my niche quite nicely.
  10. I took it off
  11. Thinking about getting a bolt action 22lr.....   I already have a 10/22 takedown, a Winchester Model 1906 pump, and a Henry Goldenboy....    I also have plenty of Bx25 and ruger 10 rounders.   And I have some ruger 1" rings for a scope....    The only thing I know is what hickok45 said on his video about them, but if anybody that has experience with them, i'd like to hear.....  what kind of accuracy are you getting at 100 yards, what kind of scopes do you have on yours?
  12. Is rubber tubing too thick?  or will the heat possibly melt it?  I was just using it because it would be similar to using cork, but I didn't have any cork laying around.....
  13. I'll post pictures next time I take it to the range to test it's grouping, hoping for improvements
  14. Some pictures added, will have final pictures and results soon
  15. Folded
  16. After refinishing the stock, I decided I would give glass bedding a try, seeing that I had about a 3 inch group at 25 yards with the iron sights.... Wish me luck and say a little prayer that I used enough release agent! Before Sanded Drying in the closet, the color was a mix of Minwax Gunstock and Minwax Red Mahogany 5 coats of Tru Oil, the recoil pad doesn't fit exactly but I guess I'll live with it JB Weld bedded for 4 hours before taking apart to let cure.... and I'm planning on shimming the barrel with a small piece of rubber tubing Almost finished, just some trigger work, and reassembly and I'll post some pretty pictures after it's done
  17. Is it possible to call in a drone strike on skunks?
  18. What round would be best for skunks?
  19. So will this make Colt guns go up in value, down in value, or stay the same?
  20. 25 rounds of Winchester #4 shot 15 Remington 1/5 oz slugs 50 Winchester 7 1/2 shot 15 Remington 000 buckshot 20 Winchester 1/4 oz slugs Today I almost spent as much on ammo as I did for the gun itself...
  21. After several measurements with digital calipers, I'm calling it 0.390
  22. Anybody ever try cut shells?
  23.   my gears turn faster than they really should
  24. I'd rather shoot a turkey anyways
  25. Another question....   I'm no hunter, but is it legal to hunt deer and turkey with a 410?    If you used a slug on deer and number 4 shot for turkey?    Or is it just used for squirrels, rabbits, and small birds?     Just curious.....   I'll just be using this one for target shooting and maybe collecting mistletoe come Christmas!
