where's the closest place to buy a fort knox?

What's the best gun safe out there? I've looked at Heritage, Liberty, Fort Knox, Cannon, Winchester.... I just don't know what's the best one for the money. What kind of suggestions do you all have? I'm looking for a large safe...(25-50) gun size.

It's hard to take pictures of the inside of the barrels, but here they are... I think they're pretty good I don't know alot about grading guns, but from examples that I've seen, the overall gun is probably considered between 30-40% even though it does look this good.... it's far from mint... so I'm guessing the vaule is around 1200-1500 but that's just my guess... I sure wouldn't mind if it was considered 85% cause then it would be around $3,000... and I paid nowhere near that!

Anybody?

I recently purchased a Colt 1878 Double Hammer shotgun, and I think I got a good deal, but I'm not sure how to appraise the condition/value of it. I won't tell the serial number, but it is all matching and dates it to 1880. Here are some pictures.

Does anybody know much about Parker-Hale Shotguns? I know they're from the UK and were used for sport shooting, but that's all I know.

Which of these 2 shows should I go to? Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Association Show @ 6700 Jubilee Center Way Knoxville, TN 37912 or Great American Promotions Gun Show @ 1550 Fort Henry Drive Kingsport, TN 37664 I've never been to either, but I was wondering which one is better?

I got mine used for $459. So far, the worst thing about it is cleaning it. Not because it's hard to clean, but it just gets sooooo dirty when firing it. It is a shotgun shell after all, so that's expected. As far as accuracy, get some 45LC and put it in single action and you won't have any problems hitting near and far (but it does shoot a little high). For me, one of the things I love about the gun is it's versatility... I can load it with anything from 2.5" birdshot up to 3" slugs or self defense loads. And I don't care what people say about the 410 load... if you get good self defense loads... it's gonna stop somebody if need be. I've shot 00Buck and 000Buck some 7.5 and 4's 6's and the Winchester PDX1 (which are awesome) The gun is heavy, could be a plus or a minus depending on use... The trigger on the Judge is a heck of a lot better than on other Taurus guns. My brother in law had one shot that didn't fire the first time, but that was using cheap ammo in double action. The recoil is manageable, of course, I'm 6' 3" 230lbs, but my mom didn't have any problems shooting it either. This is where the weight of the gun comes in handy. After all is said and done, I think it's a good purchase, seeing the versatility. And yes, it's my primary gun for home defense right now (until I get something else) Hope this helps, let me know if you want to know anything else specifically.

A buddy of mine heard there was a guy selling guns at a flea market around maryville. Does anybody know where it would be and if so what kind of stuff does he have?

I leaned toward the Judge over the Governor mainly because of the price difference... I got mine used for $459, and the Governor is aroun 800 i think. So far, the worst thing about it is cleaning it. Not because it's hard to clean, but it just gets sooooo dirty when firing it. It is a shotgun shell after all, so that's expected. The Winchester PDX1 work very well, especially when shooting watermelon :-)

The owners manual is just a generic one and it didn't say... but I asked hickok45 and he said it will shoot both. It made sense that it would shoot both, I just wanted to make sure it was safe before I blew my hand off :-)

I just picked up a Judge in the 3" Chamber and I was wondering if it can shoot 2 1/2" shotshells or if it is only suppose to shoot 3" shotshells? I know 2 1/2" shells would fit, but is it safe to do so?

Lucky... what's a "SD gun"?

What are some good challenging shots? Or good drills to run? I've heard shooting the screw cap off a soda bottle with a .22 is a fun one... what else do you all got?

I have a glock 19 a glock 26 and a colt 1911 that I shoot regularly. I was wondering what would be a good group and what would be an excellent group? I shoot at 30 feet 45 feet and 75 feet. Just wondering at what size groups I should be shooting for.

I'm looking for a nice lever action gun to buy in celebration of Independence Day! I don't know alot about them so any advice would be helpful. Do any of you have a brand or model recommendation? Winchester, Henry? Looking for a fun/and collectible shooter... not sure what caliber to get either.
