  1. I found them at a couple of different shops that I regularly frequent in the Memphis area. They never hit the shelves anymore though. You have to regularly check in and ask. When the stores receive it, you may only have a few hours to maybe a couple of days before its all gone unless someone agrees to hold some for you. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Picked up a few bottles of Elmer T. Lee today. I've been looking for it for a while. I had my first pour this evening, and I must say that it definitely lives up to all the praises. I'll have to watch myself and just have this for an occasional pour given its scarcity, otherwise I could see the bottles becoming empty very quickly. 3. I recently bought a bottle of the 2008 vintage that was just released last month. I was so impressed with it that I've picked up several more bottles and later found some of the 2007 vintage and a 2006 that I'll try another day. I did find a bottle of the 2005 at a shop, but they had a $36 price tag on it, which I thought was too much since I've bought all of the others for under $30. I may reconsider and go back and pick it up if it's still there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Added these two to my inventory recently. A relative in England introduced me to the Balvenie and I went to the Braunstein Distillery with my brother in law while visiting the in laws this summer in Denmark. The Balvenie is familiar to many of you, but for those who haven't tried it...it is really nice. The Braunstein bottle that I brought back is a peated single malt whisky that has won awards in International competition. I tried it while I was over there, but haven't opened the bottle yet...smokey and flavorful. [emoji106][emoji2] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. There are NO risks as long as a gun is C&R eligible. With a C&R eligible gun, then the transfer is just like any other transfer between FFL dealers.
  6. R1100R congrats on being one of the CMP M1 carbine lottery winners! As for me and my carbine order...crickets. [emoji853] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. I didn't look for any specific model articles or discussions, but here is a good article about F&W if you haven't seen it. http://www.gundigest.com/gun-collecting-firearm-collecting/forehand-wadsworth-other-guys-deserve-mention Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. If I were to send them a note, it wouldn't be too polite, so I've decided not to send them anything. Karma has a way of catching up to businesses that make stupid decisions. I do buy from other dealers inside TN. I just wont buy ANYTHING from those two idiots. I actually found a gun similar to what I was looking for at another TN dealer that I like and they do accept C&R licenses. [emoji3]
  9. I've got to rant a bit. I was recently looking at several guns on GB and came across two different FFL dealers in TN that made a point of stating that they do not ship to C&R license holders and that all shipments must go to another FFL dealer![emoji35] I understand that dealers and individuals in a couple of states are hamstrung by the laws in their states and have difficulty sending directly to a C&R holder. I can also understand when there is a question or disagreement regarding whether or not a gun is C&R eligible. However, when an FFL takes the position that these idiots have done in a state like TN, why would anyone do business with them. I know I won't buy anything from these two dealers in Cleveland and Columbia, TN. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. That auction result is from 2009...not necessarily representative of value in 2016. Having said that, I'd say the value may still be closer to $100 than $200, but it doesn't matter if he's not selling it.
  11. This is my understanding of how to best describe how the LCP action functions. I've owned one since they first came out and it was my first carry gun. If you want a true DA pistol in a similar size, look at the S&W Bodyguard. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. I have a couple Hi Powers, a FEG clone and a Star Model Super B. I like the Super B because of the easy takedown, but I would always choose the Hi Power for a little more money...they are one of my favorite pistols. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Are you trying to get into the estore? If so, that is not where you will find the rifles...you need to go to the rifle sale page. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Some great pics guys...I currently only have a few semi auto M1 Garands that fall within the WW2 period. Most of my WW2 rifles are bolt guns. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. My understanding from statements made by the CMP is that they received more than 5,000 orders the first day and only had around 1,000 in inventory for shipment but were also expecting to receive another 1,000 or so from the Army in a few weeks. If your order wasn't received the first day, you likely have no chance of receiving one, and if it was received on 2/1/16, then you probably have around a 40% chance of getting one. It will likely take a month or more before they finish processing these orders, so I'm still hoping that I get lucky and win the carbine lottery. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. And they are all marked "sold out" on the CMP website. They received my order this morning...hopefully I made the lottery cut! [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. The CMP began accepting mail orders for M1 carbines today. They have not been available for mail order in many years. This batch probably won't last long, so get them while you can. They also said that they will have a small number available in the South and North stores beginning this Thursday, but I'll be surprised if they last through the weekend. The prices ($685 for service grade and $625 for field grade) are also much lower than the prices have been at the South store when a few have occasionally appeared in the racks. 18. I'm still loving the Eagle Rare, but I am also really liking the Corner Creek now that I've had it a few more times. The Four Roses Small Batch...not so much. As you said, it's all about different likes and dislikes. I'm beginning to think the only thing great about Four Roses Small Batch is the incessant marketing of it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Mike, have you had any of the Prichards Private Reserve Rum? I like Appleton 12 too, and have a bottle in my cabinet, but it doesn't compare to the Prichards Private Reserve...of course the Prichards is much more expensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Just opened the first bottle of Eagle Rare that was recommended to me recently. I like it much better than the Four Roses Small Batch and Corner Creek that were also recommended to me. But I'll see how I like the other two over time. I've learned that I sometimes grow to like some things more after I've had it a few more times. However, the Eagle Rare is really good. 21. The Ruger MKIII 22/45 is a fine choice and one of my favorites. And when it comes to opinions about .22 pistols and rifles, I am reminded of the old E.F. Hutton commercials..."when graycrait speaks, people listen." [emoji4][emoji106] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. On the topic of Rum, the best I've ever had is Prichard's Private Stock. I don't know if they are distributing it to stores yet, but it is available at their distillery shop. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. The crates are no longer available. They have already depleted their supply. On my first order of three, I got a crate and a separate cardboard box with the can inside. My second order was all separate boxes. I believe the CMP forum said they were out of the wooden crates after the 10/4/15 orders were processed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Anybody pick up any of this from the CMP yet? 192 round spam cans loaded in clips and bandoliers for $115 shipped. I ordered a few cases a couple weeks ago, but they didn't ship out until I was out of town for a few days, so I have to go pick them up this week at FedEx. Great price for reloadable boxer primed ammo with extra goodies. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. The part of the bill changing the CMP's charter to allow the sale of these 1911s is a very small part of the defense bill. I'd be surprised if Obama will be willing to take the flack for vetoing the bill just because of this small amendment...but I've been surprised before. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
